That Gouken reset at 1:31 is pretty sick.

You were definately on point though, playing a good footsie game (gouken doesnt really have footsies at all) and being patient. Something I tend to do against Gouken is do a cross-up at a really obvious time so he will do his parry counter except I just jump and don’t actually cross-up, free combo. At 3:04 you get a free jump in combo, too bad you didn’t switch to mantis for a finishing combo or did a crane combo

Great fight though, I like fighting Gouken.

I did switch to Mantis. My hand slipped off the stick and I did a s.LK instead of a c.LK.

Really interesting at 0:12, where your crane s.HP dodged his far s.MK. Too bad the Gouken guy pressed kick earlier than you so it traded with Ultra, since he definitely knew to stop spamming fireballs once you got it.

I find s.HP beats a lot of things if you time it right, all but SRKs I think.

I hope KKK U2 gets some love in the hurtbox department and not just the speed department in AE.

ya all someone has to do, is add you as a friend, then go into your replay channel, then record the match while they are viewing it.

When you counter hit is there static damage properties like +20 damage, or does it take into account the move the other player is doing?

I aways thought that if you got a counter hit, it would deal more damage than if it was just a normal hit, or am I way off?

When you charge TAP for something ridiculous lke 20seconds, it deals monstrous damage.

About CHs, from the Wiki:

When a move hits another character’s move during its startup animation that counts as a counter hit and the “counter hit” notification will be displayed on the screen. Counter hits deal an extra 25% damage and give you more frame advantage over the opponent, but this only applies to one hit (not move) - so multi-hitting moves will show a slight damage increase, but give no frame advantage unless only one of its hits connects.

The amount of additional frame advantage given depends upon the move used. Most light normal moves give +1 extra frame advantage, and most other moves give either +2 or +3 extra frame advantage. There are exceptions, however.

If Gen is counter-hit during a crouching HP, he takes extra damage. Almost twice as much damage…

I thought this was common knowledge to GEN players lol. I would expect you of all people to know that Messiah…XD

no I knew that. I just didn’t know HOW much extra damage was actually dealt. I also know that you gain more frame advantage. But I wasn’t sure if whom ever lands the counter hit gets a “set” amount or if it matters what move the receiver is performing at the time. Basically my question was. If Gen was doing Jab and Rog Countered it the same way with the turn punch… would it be the same amount of damage dealt to Gen as if he were performing KKK c.HP?

It seems that Gen actually takes 50% more damage during crane c.HP startup, and then that increased number suffers the 25% counterhit bonus - in other words, 87.5% total. That seems most consistent with the rounding.
