That was NOT redwolf teh guy using Gen was a Sagat p[layer named Lambo it was just on Redwolf’s channel.
traitor!!!
just messin, who ya playin now man?
You need to learn Rh Waterfalls, and you need to add Focus dashing into your game, dont cold jump so much either…knockdown or apply block pressure first. Use mantis mp more and mantis cr mp more
If i ever have time to play the game, i still play gen, havent stopped studying him just dont practice him so much if that makes any sense, i have all the muscle memory down for him just havent had time to actually sit down and play…football practice and powerlifting kinda take up all my time now

That last video with the Ryu oga cross-up, does the distance of the sweep make any difference?

reply to Warlike: i dosnt try this idea but i will , i think the cross-up come out when ever you are , only in the corner its impossible
Yeah I was testing it just now, it works from any distance.
This is a great tool against Ryu, every sweep except in the corner can lead to a cross-up Oga.
but its very important to know the time where you have to use it like when the mantis super connect you just have to land him with Cr.hk this time you can do a perfect cross-up with ryu of course and big damage
I’ve actually been using it after doing super two times already, people didn’t know what hit them. Powerful stuff, especially if after a super you do it and still have an ultra!
Two questions about that oga cross up - might be noobish questions, but thought I’d ask anyway: Is it always possible to just block it in the other direction, or is it ambigious, a 50/50? And is it lk Oga you’re using on Ryu? Can’t go into training mode atm unfortunately…
reply:
first questions: you can block it in the other directions or just crouch ( but becarful because ogas its overhead )
second questions: not Lk its Mk version Oga and not only on ryu all chars i think , its just the hit box of the char and the situations to lead a cross-up oga

Gen complition by Drdremacdre
Cross up oga was essential to vanilla gen. I’m still trying to work the cross up in a workable fashion, but its nothing like it use to be. It is much easier to duck with its whacky hitbox and doesn’t feel as meaty as it used to.
Anyway…why it is really tricky is that opponents used to figure out how to block the double cross up. And if this happens you just change the timing of the oga to actually shoot past them and then sweep them while theyre trying to stand there and and do their best to block it (which of course opened up more cross up ogas).
Found out that in some MK Oga cross-up situations I’ll hit front when I do it too late, while the opponent didn’t move at all. I’ll test more tonight.
Dang, I’m working on Saturday and Sunday, so no entering CC for me =[ I was looking forward to my very first tournament.
I have this exact problem, seems really strange. I can only assume it has something to do with the timing of the reset move.
The fuck are you talking about…the best gens in Vanilla NEVER used cross up oga, the risk reward ratio was completely terrible! Only gen to use that in vanilla was yeb, and when he tried it against knowledgeable opponents, well…he lost to a dan user in tournament ill leave it at that.
In this game its a very nice addition to your game, but i wouldn’t say its essential either. The risk reward ratio still isnt great, but its just at the point where it makes it viable in some situations
Well esential might have been too strong a word. It was still definately one of the things that was used more back then and it was still an option.
Eg. Vanilla Gen didn’t have the much buffed cr lk he has now (which has changed his defensive game at that range significantly…) so things like oga cross up came up more because it was an option and linking sweep was easier.
Now it is less of an option because its just not as reliable.
An option is an option. Doesn’t mean you have to spam it. Same as Gen’s Crane Jump on well read fireballs, or his fadc dash mk hands/sweep on fireballs, mk hands poking or his mp block stun, or his cross up game, or using ex gekiro reversal, or his backdash, or the different variations you can use to go into tick throws or wait and bait reversals or whatever.
Its a tool. Safe or unsafe, if you read it to be worth the risk you do it. An option is an option.
