As for homosexuality being a choice: I have three siblings. A sister and two brothers who are twins. We all grew up in the same household, in the same environment, with the same parents, yet my one brother is the only one who is gay. How do you explain this?

However, pretty much everything else has been tossed out. He gets a lot of attention because he was one of the first to attempt to understand human thought scientifically. Before Freud human thought and behavior was something that remained in the realm of philosophy.

Psychology is a science. It relies on behavioral observations and statistically backed evidence. I have a Master of Science in Psychology because it’s a science. And virtually every accredited academic institute also defines it as such.

Most of the criticisms directed towards Psychology and it being defined as a science has more to do with ethical considerations. For example, a chemist can create numerous copies of a single compound in isolation, then subject it to a number of environments to see how it reacts and changes over time. That’s pure science. Ethically speaking we cannot do that with human subjects. And if we did you’d likely have a repeat of the Nuremberg Trials.
Because of this psychology has to rely on quasi-experimental designs, where we let happenstance and nature assign people to groups. If you knew anything about the scientific process and research you should know this.

- Variables cannot ever be controlled completely
- It cannot be reproduced and tested consistently every time
- It’s predictions and observations cannot be applied because they are broad generalizations, and fail
Just becuase there are a few numbers flying about, which you try and use to explain things, and you have a fancy paper that says Science
doesn’t make it a science. It’s not a science because you say it is. It doesn’t fit the criteria, therefore it cannot be defined as a science. Perhapsh you should figure out what the scientific method is, and what science is at it’s core.
