Did anyone figure out what her V-Skill and V-Trigger could be?
I think her V-Skill might be that electric projectile and I think she is activating her V-Trigger @ around 0:47 in the trailer (but it is difficult to see what it actually does)
She’s even more impressive on the trailer
What about dat ass?
And her boobs look amazing in the thumbnail of the video
Hotness aside, I’m really liking her. Probably the best “new” character so far. And people all around the interwebs are really digging her too, especially here in Brazil, most people here doesn’t really like Blanka or Sean
I’m just not sure I’ll main her, mostly because I don’t really like grapplers and I’m not sure about the execution skills required to be effective with her… I’m an old man with shitty old man’s reactions and execution… let’s hope Beta 3 brings her
Haters gonna hate, darling

Titties are definitely available.
I think Rashid is a good character too though. He should get some play.
I hope she’s not a charge character…
Her design is incredible!
I keep looking at her and she’s so fresh, the hair is cool and her colors are vibrant.
I feel like her design is classic SF. Oh and that Sean body flip kick thing is cool.
It’d be awesome if they were related in some way. Sean learned from Ken and Laura learned from Blanka.
Is the wheel kick a command normal or a special move ?
Man she looks so awesome. Very cool hairstyle (it’s something fresh and clearly underused in videogames) and outfit. I hope Mika is not jealous when I will use Laura as my secondary character (or second main? =P).
Her attitude reminds me of Poison and Juri (which are my 2 USF4 mains), so I am happy.
In terms of gameplay, I am not so sure yet. Her fireballs could lead to some interesting setups. In that regard, Mika seems to be way more interesting so far, but we’ll see.
She looks janky as fuck. Almost every one of her specials ends with a hard knockdown.
Brazilian model allesandra ambrosio might be the inspiration. Obviously Laura has darker hair and different hairstyle.

Edit: Just found this chick, Alice Dellal. Not at purty as Ambrosio, but seems to always be sporting a particular hairstyle. Ahem… food for thought.

Edit 2: This one is actually closer, Emanuela de Paula, has that sharp chin thang going on.

Yes, I know there is a hot women thread in the image mishmash section, just an excuse to post pics of pretty ladies =)
Looks wise she seems to borrow a lot from Gina.

We don’t know that.

I thought for a bit the projectile could be VSkill, but I don’t think so anymore. Looks like she performed an EX version of the fireball later in the trailer so I don’t think it could be VS.
As for Trigger, hard to say. I have a feeling we wont see the whole picture until they release more info.

Except this is Street Fighter V and hard knockdowns for the most part only happen after supers.

Command move, she CC with it. For me, it’s a Forward Heavy Kick or a Down Forward Heavy Kick.

That Soul Throw Air Grab seems to be her V skill. There is no Ex in the trailer, that can’t be her capoeira kick (because of the Crush Counter) and there is, like Necalli or Claw, target into it so that’s certainly.
For the V trigger, i assume that’s something like Ryu’s one, more stun and more damage on hit and maybe more blockstun/frame advantage.
Under spoiler, Killey’s breakdown and some precisions by myself.
Spoiler
[details=Spoiler]Quick breakdown of the trailer from what I can gather. I’m making assumptions on some of the normals like her CC’s being heavy normals because that’s the general rule of CCs so far.
0:15 - s.RH CC, cr.Strong/Jab xx Strike Grab special of some sort. Think of this as Ibuki Raida and it causes a knockdown.
*I’m assuming it’s cr.Strong/Jab because you see the same normal used at the 17 mark and Laura is in a crouching state first.0:17 - cr.Strong/Jab xx command dash, forward throw.
*I’m assuming the forward dash move she has a command dash as it comes up several times in the video and there’s an ex version.0:19 - AA special V-Skill that’s another hit grab type of move.
*This looks good as an AA because it causes a knockdown and leaves Laura next to the opponent.
0:21 - Target combo xx V-Skill AA hit grab special
*This part of the trailer looks to demonstrate how this is a footsie tool as it whiff punishes Ken’s s.RH. It’s not a CC since the hit sparks and sound effects is not the same as other CCs. I’m assuming this is a target combo with the second hit launching the opponent for the AA hit grab special to combo. I’m guessing the TC is f+Fierce~Strong. You see briefly that Ken is off the ground when the second normal hits before she does the AA special. I think this is a special property of the TC, similar to Nash TCs, because you see the normal used in the second hit later on in the trailer and it doesn’t launch the opponent on hit. However, the dynamic camera editing makes this hard to tell. The other possibility is that the AA special is 2 hits with a different strength but that seems less likely, imo.
EDIT: The ender being her v-skill makes sense as it lets her build v-gauge and we’ve seen Necali and Vega combo into their v-skills.
0:23 - Overhead command normal CC, cr.Strong/Jab xx EX strike gab special at 0:15
*Either that overhead is a command normal or that’s the first special move in SFV that causes a CC.
0:25 - cr.Strong/Strong xx command dash backwards, overhead command normal
0:28 - cr.Strong/Jab xx EX Fireball
*Lightning effects/properties on the EX Fireball and it causes a knockdown on hit. The recovery looks almost instant as demonstrated later on.
0:30 - EX command dash, EX command grab
*I’m not sure if the command dash is part of the command grab or if it’s two separate moves. I’m assuming it’s the EX version of her command dash because the animation is the same. I was thinking the dash was her v-skill but this portion of the video makes me think otherwise. First indication she has a command grab confirming hybrid grappler status.
0:34 - V-Reversal. Hers looks better than others because it actually knocks down on hit.
0:36 - EX shoulder tackle that has armor (armors through Ken’s fireball) and then on hit goes into a hit grab animation
0:38 - Fireball, command dash, back throw
*Worth noting that it looked like she cancelled the recovery of the fireball into the command dash or the fireball has amazing recovery. I’m also assuming the throw was her back throw given the context of the situation. No stylized cameras if it was a command grab. The fireball is slow and doesn’t travel far to set up that command grab. Not sure what the hitbox is like on this thing but it doesn’t seem good but it’s purely to accentuate her grab game.
0:40 - cr.Forward xx command dash backwards xx EX shoulder tackle
*Demonstrating the command back dash and that the EX shoulder tackle has armor, as it goes through Ken’s cr.Jab. Her cr.Forward, assuming it is her cr.Forward, has amazing range on it.
0:43 - Some semblance of oki with a knocked down Ken (who didn’t quick rise), Fireball, command dash, command grab
*I really want to say this command dash is her v-skill but 0:30 with the ex glow makes me think otherwise. The timing of the command grab on the get up was weird. It didn’t look like Ken fully recovered from the get up before the command grab connected. Also, worth noting that the command grab is the regular version of the EX grab we saw at 0:30 with the animations being the same.
0:45 - j.Fierce/RH, target combo xx V-Trigger, s.Strong/Fierce (?) xx EX Fireball, AA hit grab V-Skill
I’m assuming this is a target combo because the sequence looks like a chain rather than a link. If I were to guess the TC would be s.Fierce/Strong~Short. Worth noting the first normal looks different than the normal used in 0:21. However, we do see that normal in 0:21 used after the V-Trigger activation and it doesn’t launch on hit, which reinforces my theory that 0:21 was a target combo with a launching property and not a different strength of her AA special bcs she cancels into the EX fireball after wards. EX fireball recovery looks almost instant as she juggle into her AA hit grab. Not sure if this is possible regularly or if this is a new property of her V-Trigger.
Her V-Trigger is an install based V-Trigger and adds lightning properties to her specials, much like Ryu’s V-Trigger. I’m not sure if this means she deals more stun while in V-Trigger or if there’s a different property. I’d like to see consistent with the lightning properties adding more stun to specials.
0:52 - Critical Art
*It looks like a command grab Critical Art to me because after activation she does a grab animation before going into the rest of the animation. If it was a strike grab you would see an initial hit first like how Karin or Birdie’s super works though you could argue that it’s similar to Nash where it doesn’t look like it hits and just goes into an animation.
I have no idea what her V-Skill is based on this trailer. It’s possible that her command back dash is her V-Skill but that would be incredibly underwhelming and then I would have no idea how she builds V-Gauge with it. Her Fireball could be her V-Skill as well but we clearly see an EX version of it. [/details]
I agree with nearly everything in that post.
But I want to add something here and here. For exemple, when she did the meaty fireball, I think she dashed instead of command dashing in.
She can choose between two differents hitgrab animations, maybe by holding back during the throw (we have a leglock and an armlock in the video)
The target combo before the V trigger looks like a MP > MK to me.
After the V trigger, that looks like a Fierce. So I assume the first Target is something Like 6HP > HP > V skill.
And that move she kept doing during the trailer is likely a 2MP.About that Ex Dash > Ex Command Grab, don’t you think she could cancel her dash by differents follow up ? I mean, I can clearly see the different variations (that hit grab, that CG) but I can’t see two separate Ex moves. That may be something like Rashid/TJ Combo, she have access to a regular command grab and hitgrab but can cancel her command dash by these thing (Rashid can with his run, TJ with his Powerline)
They may even have removed it entirely. Ryu’s and Chun’s super don’t give a hard knockdown anymore.
rolling across the square of a screen that doesn’t exist elsewhere besides on our TV/monitor
Now that you mention it, I wonder how that move is going to work on a 3/4 screen.
Because the game is going to have support for different screen ratios, right?
RIGHT?!
New thread title suggestion:
“I’d hitgrab it!: the Laura thread v2”
She looks janky as fuck. Almost every one of her specials ends with a hard knockdown.
First, we don’t know that
Second, jiu-jitsu is almost entirely based on ground fight, so it makes sense that most of her moves should end in a knockdown.
Watching the video again, I lost count of the times she touched her hair. Either she really likes it or it is damn uncomfortable for fighting.
