Power Mode:

:l::snka: (x2) > :qcb::snkb: > :qcb::db::r:+:snka::snkb: (Have to cancel on the first hit of the 3 hit slash) (You need to get this down if you want to play her on power)

(MAX 180 damage combo)**
I think I could do this with a programmable pad. Just need to walk back a split second before you do the super. :r::snkc: hits off :r::snkb::snkc:, so I figure the super will too if you space it/time it right.

EX mode:

:snka:, :d::snka:, :d::snkb: > :qcb::snkb: > :qcb::db::r::snka::snkb:
:snka:, :l::snka:, :d::snkc: > :qcb::snkb: > :qcb::db::r::snka::snkb:
*(Akari only) Have her do her air throw and dash under it as she falls, then from behind do:
:r::snkb::snkc: > :qcb::db::r::snka::snkb: > :qcb::db::r::snkb:

Basic Gameplan

Kojiroh’s range is her greatest asset. Her standing and crouching :snka:'s are godly pokes, and on power they do great damage as well. The combination of those 2 pokes with her crouching :snkb: and her command dash allows her to do speed combos from a much greater distance than most other characters. Her command dash is great for getting quick throws in, and if you mix it up with dash throws/fireballs/DP’s, you can really psyche the opponent out. Remember, you can’t air block while jumping forward, so :dp::snka:/:snkb:, is a great mix-up with the dash if you think they’re going to try to do that to avoid the throw. Use the dash fireball when you think someone’s going to try and run in. Try to avoid using the :snkb: version of her fireball, unless you’re at max distance or playing fireball wars with someone, it’s slow and leaves you open as hell.

You can use her command dash throw to grab people who’re landing from a jump, or people who’re afraid to move after being pressured. It’s much faster than a simple dash throw, so it’s quite useful. Especially if you’re playing her on power.
It’s not as godly as some people seem to think it is though. She doesn’t have the power to pressure people the way someone like Lee or Kagami can, so she really can’t make as much use of this as you might think.

Miscellaneous Crap

-You’re probably better off playing Kojiroh in speed. She has more high/low options. If you play her in power, you’re much more reliant on her :snka: pokes and dash mix-ups.
-Her jumping :snka: is your best air-air and her jumping :snkc: is your best jump-in close up.
-Low jump :snka: and :snkc: are your friends.
-Jumping :snkc: can cross up.
-Off a sucessful ground-air parry, do :dp::snkb:
-Do her speed combos without the first :l::snka: you get like 432902 times more range.
-Using :snka: instead of :l::snka: in power lets you get your DM off from a huge distance away provided that you can cancel it consistently enough.
-Try command dashing behind people and then doing a fireball. (Alternatively you can try doing her super, but it’s not safe if blocked)
-You must manually block every hit of her DM (Except for like the last few), otherwise you’ll get hit by the whole thing. She’s the only character this is true for.
-You can also do most :qcb::db::r:+:snka::snkb: motions with :hcb::r:+:snka::snkb: or :qcb::qcf:. I honestly don’t know which one is the real motion anymore.
-If you can’t seem to do her super cancel consistently. Try hitting her DM off :uf:+:snkc:/:snkb: > :r:+:snkc: instead.
-If you hold :snkb: on her SDM long enough, it becomes unblockable.
-Holding BC until she glows red for her unblockable makes it travel further.
-Her :df:+:snkb: ground attack has shit range. Use standing :snkc: instead.
-More of a general tip: speed combo activations are only ever guaranteed off a parry, or an overhead hit.

1- Her name’s really Kaori, Kojiro is her deceased brother’s name.
2- Actually the input for her DM & SDM is :qcb::db::r:+:snka::snkb:/:snkb:. Just like Terry’s Power Geyser. Also it might* be possible just to input them as :d::l::r:+:snka::snkb:/:snkb:, this is just a short cut that might work
3- IIRC her :qcb:+:snkb: is very hard to Super Cancel, so you’re better off just not using it to SC into her DM.

Cheers :karate:

thank you guys ill be sure to put this to good use

Yes Kojiroh’s Dash Cancels are fucking mean…seriously…I wish they had her in NGBC, Team would be Geese-Kojiroh.

I wish more ppl played last blade 2 cuz either i find someone with really low sill lvl or really high COUGH Kyokuji *COugh. But i guess that means more fun. Maybe a tournament will bring some ppl.

Yeah, that’s the main problem.
Huge skill level gap/lack of players.

90% of the people I meet are completely new to the game, and most don’t really have a good way to practice because everyone they fight as well either blows or completely demolishes them.
Most people don’t want to commit to the game either because there’s not much of a playerbase, so there’s no reason to get good really.

Very, very few mid-level LB2 players on kaillera.

Are most of the Kaillera players Zantetsu, Akari &/or Setsuna players?

Hey I dont know if you could consider me mid or what but that post you have above with all those combos, could you do that for my Lee man? I know that when I played you I wasnt to bad, but your right, the problem is I never practice but I think If I looked at that and studied while playin o… i dunno… 1 hour or 2 im sure my Lee would improve very much. Ive gotten a little better since we last played but my knowledge of combos is not as outreaching as yours man.

Yeah, I’ll get around to it when I have some spare time.
That’s another part of the problem.
No players = No tournaments = No footage = Nothing to learn from.\

There actually is a kaillera LB2 tourney going on this week.
I entered, but it’s a European tourney so I doubt I’ll win because I lag bad on those servers. Pretty sure the final will be between me and this Finnish guy though.

I won my first match on the bracket today, but I couldn’t hit like 80% of my super cancels because of lag, and I was missing about the same percentage of power links.
So basically I’m relying purely on poking/mind-games to win since my combos aren’t reliable in that kind of lag.

Setsuna is the Ryu of the game. Most of the random scrubs I meet use him.
Generally, people use:

Setsuna
Moriya
Lee
Kojiroh

And I get a lot of CvS2 players who try to start with Hibiki as well.

I had to pick Kojiroh up shes just too pimp. I think im gonna stick with her for awhile b4 i branch off. After this week i wont have school until jan so ill be in the last blade dojo training in 100X gravity,lol. Im suprised u didnt say kaede was the Ryu of the game. I guess hes more like Ky anyways.

Well, I mean’t Ryu in that everybody uses him.
Kaede does fit the shoto archetype better, yes.

Hows kaede is high-level? Can he stand up to the top-tiers?

Is there a way we can get a head count of ppl who play? Those who play, those who are willing to learn, and the inbetween. Making a " Last Blade 2 matchmaking thread" would die fast so might as well ask on a thread that got ppl on already,hehe.

Don’t see the point really, lol. If you play, you play, if you don’t you don’t.
People have to build up based on their own interest in the game, not mine.
I pretty much know most if not all of the Last Blade players on kaillera anyway and that includes the European players. Obviously I don’t know the Chinese/Japanese ones, but it’s not like we can play them anyway.

If you want a list of the top players, it’s probably:
Bobo da Homo, Zelikazi (Off in Japan so don’t count on playing him again anytime soon), LB2Mania (Back in China), hello, Rr, Kaede [shmup] [fr] (Only his Kaede really), Sword: Strength (Only his Hibiki), Silver Fox (Retired), abar (Retired), Walchuk (Retired).

As for Kaede, he’s upper-mid’ tier. His :snka: pokes are awesome on power, his :hcf::snkc: combinations are great for doing damage/mix-ups, and he has a bunch of nasty power links that do a lot of damage. My only problem with him would be that his high-low game is crap.

The one thing I hate about playing this game online is that it gets really slowed/bogged down. The game runs like its on crack offline but there’s so much friggin’ slowdown on kaillera, not just lag, but the whole game slows down, and when most power links require timing down to the millisecond, it really fucks your game up.

well thanks for the list. Sucks tho, I was hoping to play Abar one more time. He was my first opponent, lol. I got a friend thats wanting to learn the game, so hopefully ill have someone around my lvl to spar with, which would help me alot.

Abar was a great player, but my god he would complain when you didn’t play the way he wanted you to. Same with Sword: Strength.

That game is old but its still good… but im still working on combos

I heard some rumor of Last Blade 3?? Any confirmation to this rumor? Maybe they should just skip it and do a Crossover-“Samurai Shodown Vs. Last Blade-Crossed Swords” though NGBC is pretty close as a whole…probably as close as its gonna get.

I think they should just leave the series alone. Playmore is not SNK, even if they share the same name. Most of the old developers jumped ship to Capcom and Sammy ages ago.

Just look at the new KoF’s, SNK vs Capcom (Huge broken mess of a game), Metal Slug 4 and 5 (Licensed to some uninspired developer) and Samurai Shodown 5 (I doubt the old SNK would’ve licensed one of their premiere fighting franchises to Yuki for them to butcher) if you don’t know what I mean. Almost everything they’ve done besides KoF2k2 has been considered crap, and 2k2 is only really good because they basically recycled 98’s character selection/music.

In short, I think they would fuck it up, like they’ve fucked up all of SNK’s other games. Last Blade more than any of their other franchises was very dependant on its atmosphere. The music, the setting, the character designs (mostly ripped/inspired from the Rurouni Kenshin series), the art style, etc, were all what gave it it’s own feel. It tried to be more artsy than most of the other fighters out, and I really don’t think Playmore knows how to capture the feel of KoF properly, let alone Last Blade.

I’m not a fan of the crossover idea either. Samurai Shodown is a slower more methodical game while Last Blade is combo/jump crazy like KoF/MvC. The difference in game systems is just too drastic. It would be weird as hell.
