Kyokuji you down for coming to EVO 2008 if I throw a Last Blade 2 tournament there???
Probably not. I wouldnāt have any means of transportation among other things. Plus I canāt imagine the turn out being very huge. I think you said last year that nobody really showed, and most of the people who did had no clue what they were doing.
If I did find a way to go, it would probably be to play A3 and 3S as well.
hi there SRKs, first post! :o
i played lb2 the first time today, without reading anything about it and at the char selection screen i thougt ānow, this time u wont choose a top tier. u start with a sucking underdog! at the bottom right, there wont be a top tier!ā so i choosed this undead guy (Mukuro) on speed mode.
i didnt want to start like i did with sfII (ryu), MK (sub zero), tekken (paul)ā¦to sf3:3s (akuma). i wanted a āweaker tierā to start with.
gnah! ive choosen mukuro and got used to him :o
to give this post any sence: thanks for ur guide! :o
(now starting to read the whole thing)
Beginner friendly doesnāt mean there isnāt any depth to them. Mukuro has a lot of advanced shit; itās just that heās very strong even without any of it.
Ryu was bottom tier in SF2:WW anyway.
Worry less about tiers, and find someone you like.
Combo video i made showing various power mode combos for some characters. i try to show mostly useful stuff rather than glitch combos. Music is corny and so is the editing but w/e.

Good idea. With all the batshit zaniness and āINFINITE COMBO GOā in LB2 itās good to have a guide on the pragmatic stuff.
I would suggest not using :dp::snkb: on its own to end combos with Moriya. They can flip afterwards unless itās part of the :dp::snka: chain and hit you during your recovery animation.
Yeah but you you canāt chain them in power mode of course. Basically i was going for practical combos and damage. Mostly. The next vid should be better if i ever finish it that is.

Winner: P-Zantetsu
Zantetsu player doesnāt abuse dash-slash enough --every time someone jumped forward, he shouldāve knocked them on their ass-- and people let him get away with tons of unsafe shit, but itās good seeing people play in any case.
Honestly, I think the only reason he won is because people were scared of the dash-slice, but he wasnāt even using it very well. Like in the one video, that Kagami player is just sitting there waiting for it half the time and he ends up getting thrown and wasting opportunities.
I took Zantetsu off the ban-list just because the sceneās too disorganized, and people are all over the place with him. One place allows him, another doesnāt. Just like some people allow two teleport loops for Moriya while others only allow one. A-CHO doesnāt even play the game anymore anyway, although I really liked their version of the ban-list.
2:14 in the 3rd place P-Kagami VS P-Mukuro match. I can only imagine the string of obscenities that escaped the Mukuro playerās mouth after that match. Itās like when you wind up doing Kagamiās :qcb::snkc: meter charge simply by executing :d::snkc: if youāre crossed up with the right timingā¦ but 5 times worse. Iām guessing he tried to do Mukuroās :hcf::snka: before his controls had reoriented following Kagamiās roll underneath him.
Some interesting stuff in this batch. That S-Akari player got downright nasty. Iām not too impressed with the P-Kagami players. Iām sure Kyokuji would school 'em in P-Kagami.
Yeah, thatās the downside of having large buffer windows.
Iāve been playing around with speed mode :snka::snkb::snkc: combos (not to be confused with speed combo specials) a bit lately. Iām mostly just trying to figure out if thereās any practical use for them. On many the damage isnāt as bad as you would expect, but Iām going to assume that each character has more damaging combos available to them that are relatively easy to execute. The only use I can imagine for them is that with many characters they can be completed from fairly far away, and this may extend the range from which you can effectively combo. Anyone have any ideas on how these could be useful?
Well, if you need a quick knockdown, it does do more damage than :snka: :snkb: :df::snkc:, but not by much.
I guess it could be used to bait flips and punish if your characterās overhead sucks, but most of the characters with shitty overheads are better in power anyway.
Iām not a Moriya expert, but I think what he was getting at is that itās fairly easy for your opponent to air recover and punish you during the recovery animation if youāre finishing combos with :dp::snkb: as opposed to :dp::snka:. I didnāt know this until I dropped into practice a moment ago, but you can air recover from the B verison, but not the A version. Even if ending with the B version gives you a little more damage itās probably not worth the risk.
In case youāre wondering (I was) hereās the types of recoveries you can do from the various versions of Moriyaās :dp: uppercut slash
Power/Speed :dp::snka: - ground recovery
Power/Speed :dp::snkb: - air or ground recovery
Speed :dp::snka: + :dp::snkb: - none
Iām getting my ass handed to me by throws, is there any way to cancel them?
Just jump. You get off the ground very quickly in this game. You can force resets against a lot of shit as well, and thatās actually part of what separates high level players from lower level ones.
You pretty much have to be point blank to land a throw in this game anyway.
You really need to master the short jump in this game.
Mastering short jumping is pretty much mandatory if you want to play this game at a level above beginner/mid-level. Unless you have a very unresponsive controller you CAN do it. Itāll just take some time to get it down. I think itās a bit ridiculous how much this changes your offensive potency, but you have to play the game as itās presented.
Basically.
Donāt fall too far in love with it though. There are plenty of times where itās better to be above or parallel with your opponent based on what air normal youāre using and where they are on the screen.
Kagami dive/command throw glitch
Oh, holy shit, Iām pretty sure this is the glitch me and Bobo recorded a long ass time ago. I have no idea how it found its way onto youtube. Let alone this guyās account.
