@d3v, that’s misogyny, and Eventhubs agrees.
That’s why the opinion doesn’t count.
Yeah, but FGD is not the place either, since is not about a game without a section of its own.
Dunno why everyone feels that this is the place to throw the threads that no one wants
Because a thread about someone’s experiences, preconceptions and opinions about the fighting game community, where else would this fit but in Fighting Game Discussion. Besides, there were more than a few people giving actual decent responses instead of letting the thread get trolled to death.
I read this thread in an Ali G. voice. Was amazing,
Increase da peace! Booyakasha!
On topic though:
Objectification of women is not a problem of the fighting game community, it’s a society wide problem and you won’t find a lot of reception here, since most people here ride the anti-feminism train for some weird reason I’m not interested in exploring further.
What kinda pisses me off is people not being able to comprehend the original post but commenting negatively anyways, as if treating women as persons instead of walking tits and pussies was a bad thing, lol.
Especially in a time where most people get raised by single mothers, you’d think there’d be a bit more respect to the cause of women among the populace.

I missed this part
Why is this thread still open?
More importantly, where are there people taking OP seriously?
In all of my years of gaming and studying the martial arts, I've encountered many an opponent and few I would call worthy.
How many years is that to be exact? For how many years have you attended Evo or a major tournament and which place did you get? We need to know all of the necessary details so that your post may be properly addressed.
Go ahead, take your time.

Watch out u guys. We got ourselves a badass over here.
If possible, I’d like to help influence the female portion of the gaming populous to become exposed to and embrace fighting games, and I encourage my fellow peeps @ SRK to do the same.
Ask Noel Brown. He’s pretty knowledgeable on this…
I love how we apparently don’t have a problem in the FGC but we have women saying their is a problem in the FGC. I’ve been around long enough to know that to many dumbasses that show up to tournamnets don’t have the social skills to be around women & can’t get hints & to many people enable idiots in the scene to act out. Another huge problem is when a woman does say anything about their being a problem y’all come out the woodwork to shout them down & say it doesn’t happen. But hey at least we aint Kappa saying it doesn’t happen & theirs no misogyny then go right to gendered & transphobic slurs at least.
Oh wait.

Yeah, you gotta love how quickly people jump into the denial phase when something that is both obvious and unhealthy is brought before their eyes. I get the feeling that the majority of negative posters are either closet misogynists or simply misunderstood my OP. Either way, you’re on the money with your post, man.
I think the OP misses his mark by a lot but almost all the replies to this thread are talking about a different kind of respect.
I don’t think it’s a very SJW thing to say that people should not be Wolverine Masters.
No one misunderstood the OPs post, It’s a post talking about vague generalizations, using vague accounts of things he claims to have experienced.
If anything everyone should probably treat everyone with more respect, being a woman doesn’t make you deserving of special treatment which its what this thread is advocating for.
I guess I misunderstood it? Maybe the OP really does mean “pander to women more” when he says “respect women more”, I just thought someone of the stuff people were calling SJW bullshit wasn’t really going that far. At least I hope it wasn’t.
