Lack of EVO t-shirts

So anyone else a little peeved they did not get a EVO t-shirt this year. I had people telling me not enough were ordered, and others telling me boxes were stolen and lost. Would have been nice to hear one honest word like the real reason why there were not enough t-shirts for the competitors. The so called “awesome” EVO judges were handing them out like candy on Halloween. I had a fabulous time at evolution except this which really ticked me off. I had to hunt for a shirt eventually swapping shirts with Victor Ratliff aka Dogface which turned out to be pretty cool. Anyone who did not end up with one were you pissed or did not care?

I’m wearing mine right now.

…and nothing else!

Just dropping in to say if I see anyone in this thread trying to sell their Evo shirt, it’s instant infraction.

The judges didn’t hand out the shirts.

The problem was shirts were just handed out with badges to anybody that lined up. No names were taken or anything.

I’m glad I was early enough to get one for myself, or else I would be pissed too.

Example, say a family came in with 4 people, only one of them was registered for the tournament, if they were in line they got 4 shirts and 4 badges.

That is something they can fix for sure next time.

Yeah unfortunately, I know someone who didn’t pay the EVO cover and took two shirts.

lol honor system :[

well on top of that given the time frame of when cut offs are for registering, and evo itself it isn’t exactly enough time to go and order the exact amount of the people who pre-reged. So either they order too little and get rid of them all for sure, or order too many and are left with hundreds possibly thousands of shirts left over. maybe try and sell some on SRK but still, smart business would be to order what you think you need but don’t go crazy. otherwise the overstock will kill ya.

I and several friends were really bummed we didn’t get a shirt. Seeing that I covered my end of the bargain with my “entry money” (later referred by myself as my donation money, since TvC was quietly canceled from the main game roster), I was hoping there would’ve been a list of people who ACTUALLY signed up and earned the right to a shirt.

The sign-up page even asked what your shirt size is, so I was hoping for some sort of acknowledgment of paying the price.

Instead, all I got was the badge for scheduling purposes and all four of the EVO 2K7+2K8 DVDs. Not bad, but a shirt reserved especially for people who actually paid would have been much more appreciated.

Hopefully next year this doesn’t happen again. Paying $50 without getting a shirt or a badge is just bad business. Now, if the shirts were stolen then shame on the thieves. But, the shirts should be stored in an off limits section of the floor.

I was told by the people giving them out that they had a shipment stolen and that’s why they compensated with the DVDs. I think it’s a pretty good deal. The DVDs are worth much more than the shirts.

Didn’t get a shirt and I already had all the DVD’s, so I lost out. :frowning:

It’s bull if you hear anything other than they gave out the shirts to everyone. Those in charge decided to cover their themselves by making up excuses. Should have gotten one story straight with the staff. Nexxxxxxxt time there should be a sign in sheet on a laptop to make sure those competing get to bring home shirt they can actually wear. No ones going to wear the dvd around their neck to show they have been to EVO.

you’ve never actually been to any type of registration where they have something like that do you? It takes forever, I’d rather not get a shirt than wait 2-3 hours just to get one.

At EVO2K3 we waited in line and they took names before handing out shirts and badges. I got both then.

At EVO2K9 I didn’t get a shirt, or a badge, or a DVD.

I’ll gladly wait in line to get at least some of what I thought I was paying for.

Well, if the shipment was stolen, then dem’s the breaks and nothing could have been done to avoid that.

To me previous years DVDs aren’t really worth much to me (it’s not about the free stuff) since I could have paid and gotten those anyways.

A piece of Evo History like the 2k9 shirts and badges…those are definitely “worth” more than some DVDs.

They opened the doors too early, One of the cannon brothers told them not to let anyone in yet they aren’t ready but… one door was open and once people started pushing well… they opened the rest to avoid a pile in, so they just said take one of each since they couldn’t control the waves rushing in, they just weren’t set up yet and there was way too many people this year to tell them to wait back outside.
Anyone who went knows once those doors open even if youre not moving someone will push your ass in by force.
As for the rest of the stuff being said I honestly don’t know.
This is all just my assumption as to why there wasn’t enough shirts i don’t know if it caused the shortage i just know that people were let in too early.

exactly the shirts are apart of EVO. a few laptops dividing the players up by alphabet and the use of a search engine could find your name in seconds and the line would be moving quickly. It is all in the managment and how is the community suppose to keep coming back to the event if they get shafted. It seems a bit extreme to not go just because of a shirt but for some of us who fly across the US it would be nice to have a 2k9 EVO shirt.

EVO is about the games and matches no doubt but I would rather have the full experience.

Letting people in early doesn’t have anything to do with the shortage.
Either they didn’t have enough, or undeserved individuals obtained them.

I heard the boxes and tags got stolen.

Are you a mod?? :xeye:
