You cannot punish a blocked palm of any kind with any tatsu. Fastest Tatsu is 7 frames, worst on block for palm is -6.

If you want to punish with tatsu, you can cr.lk x hk.tatsu the blocked ex palm and the mp/hp palms if they aren’t at the edge.

Hmmm…I’m pretty sure I’ve hit Akuma deep with a palm that he blocked and he punished with his tatsu.

Edit: akuma, e.ryu and oni are 5 frame startup on mk and hk tatsu. Ken is 6 frames on all his tatsus.

Looks like loading a denjin from fullscreen gives most chars one option only: keep his ass on the ground and block.

I give up counting how many akumas I had fried last night (well, none above B+). Some try to teleport, some try daemon flip… I’m almost sure I hited an Ex flip palm.

Variable speed for denjin got people really scared, specially online.

There was already a few people that do not respect our Hp fireball > dash palm. Now we can hit confirm full super from kongo and denjin from aa fireball, people do not jump anymore.

Wish I knew about this 2 nights ago when I lost stupidly to a sloppy oni. I was sloppy too but I was hammered so it’s ok. I had him in this situation a couple times but went with shin sho since I’m not touney confident with denjin yet

Oni can EX Slash or ultra 1 out, Gouken can Kongo EX Flip or Denjin out… Other characters need moves invinc to fireball like teleports etc. If you use it just make sure they have no way out.

This dude was using ultra 2. Doesn’t matter now. already took the stupid loss lol. I think he did feel bad that I was almost passing out during button check and he had to squeeze the win off me by me not getting full shinsho animation. The commentator even said “How’d this dude make it this far in the bracket?! Does he even know where he is?” A good Gouken no matter how drunk always knows how to zone and palm :slight_smile:

To chip out or to force punish at end of the round… Sounds practical to me.

There are a lot of character whom just do not have any good way to avoid chips from a full screen Deijin. So far… I see pretty much any grabber beside Abel if he have EX, Makoto without ultra 2, Rose, Chun li without ultra 1, Saget without ultra 2, Rufus without ultra 2… the list goes on.

I kinda like to throw it out just to chips them pretty much whenever possible. Because

[]They usually just block, and even if they just block the ultra is still not wasted. First, it is free 120+ damage. Second, free 200+ stun. They would hesitates trying to get in.

]Dejin is pretty much safe on block, so there are no point for them to try rush closer.
[]Even if they jump over it is still safe, long as you don’t hold it till it is at max you can hit them when they land.

]It is way too fast to jump on reaction. If they do try jump on reaction, just throw a low speed one, they will land on it and learn not to do that next.
[]It is rather liberating and fun to throw out when you know they can’t do anything about it. Gouken don’t have those move before where you can just throw out.

]You might even get lucky they are throwing out something and eats the ultra + dash in palm from the wall bounce. If they ever get unlucky like this they are going to be freak’n scared whenever you are full screen and with ultra. They are not going to do anything for a while.

Sure, it is highly match up and ultra dependent, but hey, free damage. Even if you do get a chance to use it with EX palm / backthrow later, you don’t really lose the damage without Deijin as palm / tatsu + deijin clip pretty much do the same damage as a scaled Deijin. But having the clips = damage done. Damage done is almost always as good as potential damage when you are a Gouken and at full screen.

…and they give you cash, which is just as good as money!

3jabs seems to be the max to properly combo into super with 4 youre just simply too far for the whole thing to connect

2 is plenty to ensure the least amount of scaling. Other options are close MK/MP/HP/HK, they give plenty of time to hit confirm and then Super(and MP of course allows the tacking on of another normal(+a palm if you want as well)
