i remember someone mod it but without the search tool it will a pain to look for it.

One of the SFIV cabinets in Korea had one of those covers. I felt perverted playing on it, so I avoided playing on that side.
But aside from that weird condom, I fell in love with Korean sticks during my stay there this fall/winter.
Faaaaantastick!
Am I using the correct currency exchange? 35,000 Korean Won’s = $22?
Hell I may just buy one for the case.
The exchange rate for Korean won is GREAT right now. It normally is like 1USD = 1100won or so. Right now it’s 1USD = 1500+won. So it’s like getting 50% more bang for your buck.

hi. i have one of those wooden box ps2-version ksticks. someone was nice enough to swap out the stock buttons for crown 203a buttons, but now the start button wont work.
it’s just one button. it shouldn’t be difficult to rewire. however, this one has a wire on one of the prongs. all the other buttons are just prongs soldered into the board. the start button is one prong, one red wire, and i am terrified of destroying my stick just screwing around trying to make it work.
otherwise, it’s an awesome stick. i just wish i could use my start button.
thanks
steve
are these fanta sticks good for SFIV or just good for tekken? Also, just wanted to double check again. buttons come in 30mm AND 24mm? (or is it really 27.5mm)
does myoungshin or taeyoung make buttons too?
where can I find them in korea?
@ laugh
laugh - I’m interested in buying a Tae Young Fanta stick but I don’t have enough posts to send you a PM
Could you PM me a contact email address so we can do some business? Thanks for your time.
you can buy it directy from korea, or is there any distributor ?
Does Taeyoung or Myoungshin make these for the 360 also? I haven’t heard one thing about these for the 360, or are we just limited to the madcatz SE and TE sticks?
i need this
a have crown and fanta
where buy this?
This has raised a bunch of questions.
Has anybody tried installng a K-stick into a standard J-style stick or case? If so, why? if not, why not?
Likewise, has anybody installed a J-stick into a Saulabi or other K-style stick or case? If so, why? If not, why not?
How do Crown buttons compare to buttons produced by Happ/Sanwa/Seimitsu? Are they interchangeable (disregarding the size limitations of Happ parts)?
Also, would it be possible to install a gate onto one of these sticks? If not or if difficult, what would be the restrictions?
I don’t know where you can buy those covers, but there’s an alternative available:
anyone interested in learning about or purchasing korean parts can PM laugh or check out his thread: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=174859
I’m trying to install a kstick (Myoungshin Fanta) into a Wii Hori stick. There’s a few problems:
Korean sticks require more depth than a Sanwa or Seimitsu. It’s not as much space as a HAPP would need, but still, you need more than you have space in a Wii fighting stick.
The ‘panel thickness’ required for a kstick (19mm above mounting holesis significantly more than a jstick (10mm above mounting holes).
Crown buttons are pretty similar to Sanwa/Seimitsu parts at 28mm, but they’re not exactly the same size. Happ requires more depth, too.
I don’t think you can install gates because they use a rubber spring and metal lever microswitches. There’s no gate so to speak … only the orientation of the leaf switches. See nubytech crap joystick for reference.
You’ll need to do a little research on the korean stick threads Laugh and Paik have put up. All the info you need are in there. Paik4life also sells Korean sticks for a good price. Get in touch with him (or Laugh, of course) and buy one for yourself… if you play Tekken, you won’t regret it.
I don’t play Tekken at all , but I read multiple threads. I read the entire Saulabi thread, the…thread, Laugh’s entire sales thread in the trading outlet…and I couldn’t find clear answers to those questions, which is why I asked. I don’t know where else to look. In any case, I’ll probably end up buying one anyway, just for poop and amusement, even though I’m still concerned about diagonals and whatnot. I’ve got a Mayflash stick that looks like it would accomodate one well. If I decide I don’t like it, I can always switch, I suppose, and sell my Fanta.
Laugh has a FAQ (referenced in Paik4life’s sales thread) that also answers questions. I got almost all of my answers from the threads (they’re all fairly short), and got a few more from buying the stick to see dimensions myself.
I’m surprised there isn’t more interest in Korean sticks, but maybe it’s because of lack of clear diagnols, difficulty in installation with size issues, and overall cheap parts (I think they’re like $9 USD if you went to Korea and bought it yourself). I haven’t played Marvel on it yet haha… I’ll have to give that a try.
jejejeje thx
My k-buttons are significantly smaller than my sanwa buttons. I must say though they feel great. I have two different models of korean buttons (second owner for both sets) so I don’t know the manufacturer but they are both the same size, smaller than sanwas.
And when I say significantly I am talking from a mounting standpoint. In most panels that need to be widened to fit sanwa buttons, korean buttons fit perfect.
according to this: (picture and measurements of a Crown CWB 203 C button)

the holes for the panel needs to be 27.5 mm in diameter, so they are 2.5 mm smaller than sanwas (30mm).
Where can i buy the Microswitches for my fantas? i have one that seems not to register the left input consistantly.
