Korean arcade parts discussion

@UltimateChocolate you would be better off just buying the 309. One of the best Crowns and should come with the same switches found on Korean levers such as the Green Lever, Fujin V2 and airbag. you can always change the switches with this stick and micro switches should have some effect on diagonals, i think something was discussed earlier about the switches inside the Golden Fanta that confirms this.

@VarmintBaby I personaly dont know of any mods other than a different grommet and different switches. You might also benefit from a 309 stick too.

I have a 307 and a 309mj, and the 307 is trash, comparatively. The geometry of the 307 results in huge activation areas for the cardinal directions and tiny diagonals that are hard to hit. Also, the throw of the 307 is huge, to no benefit. I donā€™t think thereā€™s anything that can fix the 307.

The 309 is simply a better design. I plan on picking up a Helpme version when I get a chance.

309 is the best Crown stick for your money.

Anywho thatā€™s a link to one of my old Taeyoungā€™s (right) pictured with a Myoungshin Fanta. I might see about 3d printing just the plastic body. Any advice is welcomed.

Edit: just realized my damn link was broken

And does any know if a Myoungshin will fit inside a HORI EX2? I just got curious after seeing @hibachifinal post his two red sticks on twitter a while back one with Sanwa and one with Myoungshin. It looks like it has a Noir layout and would be great for Tag 3 IMO. I know itā€™s hard to mod but it would be great just to know if itā€™s possible.

Not sure how. Youā€™d need a lot more depth in the case for it to work. A myoungshin on itā€™s own sits up about as high as the stick

i seen a lot of 309 over 307. i may get one.
i seriously thought about destroying one of my sticks to mount a fanta.
i seen a video one youtube on how to mount one to anystick.
i t requires a step drill bit but one of those cost like $50usd in my state.

I used a Dremel to cut a hole in my TE big enough to fit a Korean lever.

I used this step drill on my case, and this forstner bit when creating plexiglass/drilling in wood.

how thin is that plexi on the left?
i have tekā€™s plexi thatā€™s 1/32 on an inch

I bought a big sheet of plexi at a local hardware store. It was 600x400mm and 4mm thick. The original plexi on the case (Venom fightstick) was 2-3mm thick. I used the leftover plexi to make a fightstick in my desk.
4mm was the minimum thickness they had unfortunately. A drill press made drilling holes easier.

do you have to contact that guy rohan before ordering anything off makestick.com ?

I donā€™t think he works there anymore. Customer service lately has been lacking

My plan is to use a 35mm step-drill on my Madcatz TE and in the future see if tek-innovations could cut me a custom plexi if i ever wanā€™t art. But I donā€™t have the balls to take a fat drill to my precious TE anytime soon.

all i have are Eightarcs and TE sticks
i might just buy a cheap fightstick like the Qanba Q1/Carbon and drill that.

The drone or q1 are too slim for a Korean stickā€¦you could always get a makestick pro case for 55 on focus attack as they can mount Korean sticks

Rohan donā€™t work there anymore

@ProgressiveBalance i found TEs panels for $26 on ebay. we might can buy those to destroy

@slaycruz i thought about it but i would need a pcb to go with it. it would be an extra $90 or $60. iā€™m still using the pcbs that came with them

@UltimateChocolate, The zero-delay PS3 encoder is $12. Thatā€™ll work with anything that supports legacy sticks. I put a Brooks PS3/PS4 board in mine, which was significantly more expensive, but still under $50.

anyone know the size spec for the makestick for me it needs to be equal or more than 16"
i man spread hardcore when im not playing on a couch

Itā€™s about 15"

@UltimateChocolate, could you link me the panels? Iā€™m planning on spending over $64 for my stick to have a replacement in case I mess up.
