It looks like they only have one in stock now but it sounds like it might be worth it to try that switch out in the future. Thank you for the information.
I would get the 309mj. It is a decent lever even after you use the micro switches, the regular gersungs from your fanta will work fine from the reviews of the earlier 309mj that @“The Pantomnaut” reviewed that had the v1623a2s in them.
I appreciate your advice about the switches. I think I’ll try the AM51662C5N switches when Focusattack gets them back in stock but I will probably wait a while to see if they get the Golden Fanta in stock. I also want to try some sort of switch stabilizer.
was gonna say, the [AM51662C5N] are indeed more sensitive at 1.18N (120gf) operating force. they are also discontinued (which is why seimitsu is making “new” levers with omron switches)
I personally use [AM51662C5N] on my airbag, but with a stock myoungshin grommet (so, basically a myoungshin with metal plate and different microswitches)
Kinda tempted to buy the LS-300 for the switches. Though, it’s kinda waste of a lever to do that. I’m probably either go to the cheap route (20g Zippys) or the expensive route (OMRON D2RV-LG).
I can also go to the in between route and buy the ls-300, swap the switches, and if I like the switches sell the ls-300 for cheap
I’ve got a question before I finally pull the trigger on the 309MJ:
I just realized that the 309M has the neck protruding out a bit from the stick. In my homemade arcade stick case, I have the joystick’s mounting plate directly fastened to the bottom of the case’s face; it’s a thick layer of wood, with some wood screws holding down the plate, with added spacers so I don’t screw them too far in and go through the other side.
The images are of my Seimitsu LS-40 currently installed into the case; mind the dust, as it does need some cleaning.
Part of me is wondering if I’ll be able to install the 309MJ properly without substantial loss on the joystick’s exposed shaft; the shaft cover will sit flush with the case, but I am unsure about mounting it. Thoughts? This is what’s preventing me from finally pulling the trigger.
here is I attached the vector file, bring it to laser shop and they should be able to make some for you. keep in mind that you will need longer screw to install this.
from the looks of your case/panel, having even a short collar will make your handle too low, so you might wanna opt for the flat ones like the one in the link
Damn; I was afraid of that being precisely the case. That sucks… D:
I remember reading about the two sticks, the 309 and the 309M; there isn’t much information on them, but I remember reading that the 309M has much smoother performance thanks to that neck. Focus Attack only has the 309M sticks in stock, but I wonder if I could pitch to them to carry the 309 models for special cases such as myself.
That being said, is the 309M compatible with most commercial arcade sticks? I may just go pick up a cheap or defective arcade stick/case and put my internals into that one.
