Korean arcade parts discussion

US, California.

At the moment, no. I still haven’t gone to doing the Kaze and Fujin V2 yet due to other stuff releasing.

Also since this is a limited run at the moment so it’s not the best for me to talk about it to a wider audience. Maybe I will change my mind sooner or later

I would love to use a custom top like the Green lever but that would increase cost to the production of that as well as adjust the shaft height.

Hopefully my planned shaft, grommet and actuator combination with a Sanwa top will provide that wiggle that I see in Green levers while still performing similar. The weight of the actuator seems intimidating but who knows?

I don’t mind the added cost if it means we can have a custom red bat-top to fit that bronze shaft. I think making the bat-top would be impossible anyway but I still really think that for this one off project it should be included. I can only find airbags with black bat-tops anyway, that sucks.We need more vaiety and we don’t need an off fitting Sanwa bat-top.

http://imgur.com/a/5wzdE The Green Lever also uses some kind of spacer underneath the switches, it kind of reminds me of a swastika. @wazwuz will this component also be available in the project? I think it is for more support for the micro switches, to keep them flat but i don’t know.

I’m pretty stoked for you guys. I hope everything works out. I think the grommet kits are a great idea that should’ve happened a long time ago. For crown’s too, being that those are the more Japanese mount friendly atm.

I Took a few pictures let me know if you want more info.
measurements are all in gram

@wazwuz I’d be interested in the grommet package

@kkolding Wow thank you for the info, do you have the green lever in hand? please measure the diameter of the actuator? is it true 15mm? also the shaft diameter? is it true 7mm.

I see that this actuator was used a lot, we can see that it already chipped out by the microswitch actuator. Stainless steel doesn’t have self lubricating feature like Bonze, I hope Bronze is more durable than this.

@all participants
So here is the actual plan

my idea is to make 2 in 1 actuators, so you can flip it to get different diameter. I was thinking about the third actuator which is 17 and 17,5mm. what do you think? so we have 15+15,5mm; 16+16,5mm; 17+17,5mm actuator to choose

for shaft, the original size is 9mm diameter. I was planning to make 7mm shaft diameter like green lever, but since this project was beyond green lever, I was thinking about making 2 size, 8mm and 10mm diameter. Then for those who like shorter throw like me, we can use 10mm instead.
so we have 8mm, 9mm (original), and 10mm Shaft diameter.

for grommet, we have silicone 40 (green color) silicone 50 (blue color) and silicone 60 (red color).

with this options, we can **expand to 54 different configurations **(6 Actuator size X 3 Shaft X 3 Grommet) not including switches. this will be the ultimate mod beyond any existing mod. to be honest, I’m not interested in green lever anymore :p.

@ProgressiveBalance I was to excited about this project, It keeps me thinking all day long, so I used some machine in my workshop to do this project, and make my customer wait :p. so I have to make it quick. I’m afraid I cannot do more mod like mounting plate. I heard Kowal have universal mounting plate for this. btw, your suggestion using bronze is perfect. i have test it couple hours last night, it pay off.

@jey-are after this project, I will contact Focus attack to bring silicone grommets, or maybe you can order it for me directly, but shipping cost is pretty high. about 20USD to US

I’ll wait till you contact FA, and go from there. Thanks.

@wazwuz Unbelievable my man! This looks like the ultimate Korean lever.

@ProgressiveBalance The Plate converter can be found here for $9.95 to let it fit any hole configuration. Then you can order the battops here.

I am cool with the 2 in 1 actuator but I do wonder if you flip one over, if it will touch the plastic part of the body and affect performance. Otherwise, I like the 15-15.5mm one.

I personally would still want a 7mm shaft if we can verify that the Green lever is the same.

thanks for the heads up, I will check it. BTW I just Finished Making the Prototype.

Update:
Confirmed that the actuator cannot bigger than 15mm, as it will not hit the corner perfectlly. radius of the corener hole of the plastic housing is 15mm.
for this reason, we cannot use 2 in 1 actuator

I have test it using the stock actuator and this 15mm Bronze, it fits perfectly on the corner.

I used the 2012 model quite a lot, that’s why it’s so worn down. I never used the 2014 model that much. I guess because I had started using the MagicStick Fanta Airbag and really liked it, then got my hands on the Fujin V2 and haven’t had the time to mess around with new sticks after that.

@wazwuz As far as measurements, this is what i have:

Battop lever (white Green Arcade 2014 model) it measures 7mm Ø
Actuator (Green Arcade 2014 model) measures 14.5 mm Ø

This is coming together nicely. @wazwuz could you include the weight of all the bronze parts. I think it coulld tell us more about the sticks performance when compared to @kkolding’s Fujin V2, Green Levers, Airbag and original parts.

awesome, so could you please measure the diameter of lower part of the actuator?

@Phantomnaut 1 set US
@hibachifinal 1 set US
@aggro crag 1 set ???
@lolmark 1 set ???
@call2arms 1 set US
@slaycruz 1 set US
@rbuniao 1 set US
@Chumpy 2 sets Norway (Europe)
@ProgressiveBalance 1 set UK
@Ghost Cobra 1 set US
@kodee vu 3 sets US
@Bullmance 1 set US
@FightGameGuru 1 set US
@kkolding 2 sets Denmark (Europe)
@DJ-Blitz 1 set US
@wazwuz 1 set INA

So, I have made the prototype and calculate the cost.

keep in mind that the actuator will have revision (see post above)

here is the list of the parts in one set:
3X Brass Shaft 7mm; 8mm; 10mm.
3X Bronze Actuator 14,5mm; 15,5mm; 17,5mm.
3X Silicone Grommet 40 green, 50 blue, and 60 red.
Price is 39USD/set

So using this mod parts + original parts (9mm Shaft and 16,5 actuator), we can have 48 configurations (4 shafts X 4 actuators X 3 Grommets)

yes I will measure the weight on monday at the workshop.

@wazwuz I have a friend who is interested if you could write another set on me.

@wazwuz I see you still have me as “???” I am US, Florida. Please let me know if i should msg you with more info. Thank you!

I can sure.

Which do you think I should buy to go with the shafts, the red Sanwa LB-30N or the clear Sanwa LB-30N CW? Which bat-top is closer to what is found on the Myoungshin or the Green Lever, do any of you know the measurements?

What micro switches should I try out in my “Golden Fanta/RED Lever” I was thinking of trying out Omrons, Gersungs or other Matsushitas. Also even thinking of putting a stiffer switch in the up direction, what do you guys think

@hibacchifinal @“the phantomnaut” this seems like the perfect opportunity to make a chart of measurements for Korean levers.

@wazwuz What are the three shafts for? Different throw dead-zone etc?

@kkolding is the stick labled “MagicStick Fanta Airbag” the same as IST’s Airbag lever?

Does bronze rust? I just realized this mod will work on the FLF, and from what i know they are the same joystick only with no collar. I could use a Sanwa bat-top with a huge variety of colors or install a metallic ball-top on it and mount it as a secret Korean lever lol. This project is coming together so nicely that it saddens me to think of it as a one off. We should sell this as a complete joystick like the Airbag or the KAZE, whats stopping us?
