Korean arcade parts discussion

@Elston87 There customer service is terrible, so I would probably not wait for them to restock if they are all purchased. I would buy one as soon as possible. This obscure German shop is the only place I can find purple and orange crowns.

Would the Myongshin Fanta be better than the 309 Help Me since Focus Attack carries them. I’m planning on putting one of Jasen’s TE2 panel for the K stick on another TE2 stick that I’ll be obtaining soon.

@rbuniao would recommend trying the airbag lever from makestick.com instead; very highly regarded stick.

Get the makestick. They got at least one on ebay. Worth every penny

Does anybody know witch of Crown’s tension grommets is the best to put in my 309MJ? Either what is closest to the Myoungshin Fanta or just what works best with the stick. I’m planning on getting a 55g tension grommet

@ProgressiveBalance I personally use the 60g tension grommet and have no issues with it.

@rbuniao Would you compare it to any other joystick? Have you tried other tensions? If so what what where your experiences?

Anyone know if it’s possible to get a white Myoungshin or Myoungshin shaft? I just saw the new Hori RAP Tekken 7 in white for XBOX ONE/360. Now my new favorite joystick.

You can put a white sanwa shaft in it but it fits tighter and reduces the dead zone a bit. Myungshin shafts aren’t sold separately.

Well, it’s my second K-Stick that I ever owned and it feels a whole lot better than the Crown 307 with the Arcade Stick Indonesia Fanta Crown Upgrade Kit from Focus Attack. I’m hoping to try out the Myongshin Fanta soon since that’s readily available at Focus Attack. Kinda wish the 309MJ is available in the states.

@rbuniao I look forward to hearing what you think about the Fanta when you purchase one.

@RaishinX But they are prone to unscrewing inside Korean joysticks. The Sanwa bat-tops are also a different size, the wrong texture and have a recession where the shaft meets the bat-top. I’ll just wait for makestick to restock the fujin or wait for Green arcade to come to their sences

If anyone owns a 303 and a 307, could you test the results of a 307 bottom with a 303 top? After finding out that the reverse is what makes the 309, I can’t help but wonder if the left over parts make the most awful joystick in the world or something better, like the 309. What even would you call it, the 309.2? =)

I think I did it before but it turned out BAAAD. I will try again soon.

I put a Sanwa JLF shaft with the clear bat top in my Myoungshin Fanta & I’ve not had any unscrewing problem but the other colors have an adapter so they might not hold as tight maybe you could try another manufacturers bat top or you could even use an adhesive like the FujinV2? I prefer the tighter feel & smaller dead zone to the standard Myoungshun Fanta.

Has anyone got any news on that chart @hibachifinal was making for Korean joysticks? I think that could be quite a useful project but I haven’t heard anything about it in weeks. He said that he wouldn’t include Crown joysticks because there covered a lot already but I disagree. No one has really gone that in depth about korean joysticks in my opinion and what hibachi is proposing might actually be really useful.

@KillerandUndertaker I never actually thought about that. The clear joystick in white would be perfect if they made one. I was thinking i might just buy a ball top, glue it on and just say screw it and pretend its a Sanwa. =)

How BAAAD? I don’t know the characteristics of each joystick, but your response only intrigues me more. If you do try out again please tell me I’m actually very interested in seeing how badly it performs.

I asked earlier but no-one could answer, are all crown parts interchangeable like the 303 and 307? The 305 looks quite nice with a square gate. 303 top with a 305 bottom maybe?

Finally, do any of you have any experience of using a Myoungshin Fanta with a Vewlix layout? I really don’t want to mod my Madcatz Soul Edition stick while I can pick up a TE-S for the PS3 for really cheap. I don’t want to have my joystick to close to the buttons(especially because of that shroud).I also prefer the curve of the buttons too.

does anyone know where t get 207 h buttons?

Ok I just tried it and it’s not too bad. I can wave dash and BDC all right with this combination. Doing things like EWGF feels really off because of the longer travel of the 303 gate with a 307 bottom end. Riding the gate feels uncomfortable. Not a good combination but still playable.

Since I have the Makestick Pro Vewlix model, most normal Korean levers feel fine with it. My hands don’t really interfere with each other.

@ProgressiveBalance i dont have a durometer to actually do measurements of grommets atm, thats why i was asking for help lol.

@hibachifinal Do you still do artwork commissions? I don’t know the best way to get hold of you and I just need to ask about pricing.

Crown/Samducksa is working on a new pushbutton.

The SDB-201 still looks like it uses Futaba switches which I assume will be the clicky ones. It’s also 30mm and are screw-in-based.

The transparent 201C seems to allow custom art support as well as install LED diodes through the button (unlike the OBS-MX’s PCB featuring support for specific LED kits)

The impressions in the link below describe the plunger height being a bit higher than Sanwa and feels like Seimitsu. The Seimitsu comment might as well be subjective. I really like the low and fast action of the CWB-203C/207H buttons and I hope the 201s are close enough.

The plan for Crown is to have it cheaper than buttons from Sanwa and Seimitsu.

In other info, the Saint Lever might come soon. He might sell it probably through his social media channels but it’s not final.
