Korean arcade parts discussion

@souji5 Makes awesome Korean cases

No unfortunately. From my knowledge, there is no white top made by Myoungshin themselves. If you are referring to the Green Game Land/Green Arcade modded Fanta which has a white top, it’s only really playable in that arcade. There are some people who got lucky in getting them (@kkolding, KOFTekken, some dude in Indonesia, etc) but it’s really hard.

I really want it too. The top is slightly fatter and felt nice when I tried Nin’s at EVO 2012 and the shaft’s diameter was slightly smaller which was an interesting choice. Most of the other parts, excluding the actuator and the silicone tension, can be replicated with the IST Airbag lever.

Man that sucks. I wonder who had them produced. Maybe someone at Green knows.

One of the family members who own Green actually make em I believe. From what I hear, Green is not open to selling them publicly. I even asked Nin and he said it’s not gonna happen. If Nin, Knee or any player who attends Green Arcade regularly go to EVO, that can be a slim opportunity to ask.

Hey guys, im going to be placing a order with focusattack this week and my friend wanted me to grab a Crown stick for him too. His primary game is Tekken series but he also enjoys playing random 2d fighters especially on fightcade.

CWL-307FJ-JMS vs CWL-307FJ-JMS-ST

So how big of a difference is there between these two models? Seems like the first one would be better all around? Im not familiar with the crown sticks so I didnt want to make a selection without finding that out first.
thanks

The ST means silicone tension. In theory, they won’t wear out as much, if at all, like the normal rubber tension grommets when in normal use.

Personally I would avoid most of the CWL-307 models especially with the Matsushita/Panasonic switches because the actuators don’t work well with em. I would recommend the CWJ-303FK models because they are much more all around. From what I hear in Korea, Crown’s 309 lever seem to be better than both of em but it’s still unavailable to import until a later date.

For what it’s worth, I really enjoy the Myoungshin Fanta with Tekken and MK - but really dislike it for DOA, as DOA requires a lot of diagonal movements and doesn’t tolerate slop nearly as well as either Tekken or MK do. Hitting consistent diagonals with the Fanta is a particular art-form, which will lead to many lost matches and much cursing before you’re some-what consistent. I’m so bad with it, that I want to make a square gate for it.

I might be going to Korea this summer, if i’m going I can get some Green arcader joysticks for the ones interested.

sry to ask, but is the international IST mall page running and usable? lol

I want it so much… let me know if you going to korea… and read my message please

I am still charged $23,000 for a lever so no.

If you can get their buttons too then that would be cool.

Just a random late reply, but I strongly suggest that you don’t go for a Korean lever if you are already used to a LS-56 with a short throw mod(not sure which mod you’re talking about but I’m guessing that it’ll make the throw shorter by 6 MM)

First of all, Korean levers are by default stiffer than IL eurosticks, and are stiffer than a 2IB JLF spring. Assuming that you’re not already using something like a 4 IB spring in the LS-56, it would be pretty jarring.
Also, ALL Korean levers have nearly twice as longer throw than various unmodded Japanese joysticks, and since you’re using a short throw mod already I’m pretty sure you’ll dislike the big difference in throw.
Finally, assuming that you’re not playing any characters in Tekken that require neutral inputs(for the wind god fist) the gigantic neutral area and extremely long throw will simply serve to get into the way in other games, especially for non-fighting arcade games like shmups.

Bottom line is, these levers were made for only one purpose-Tekken(the only arcade game people play here besides BEMANI). For any other game, practically anything else would be better than Korean levers. And as for the Fanta, you’ll need to mod the joystick extensively for the “neck” part to fit through and it isn’t even what most Koreans would recommend, especially since the Airbag mod increases performance considereably.

I couldn’t find USA on the drop down menu for country selection when attempting to complete the order. Did they stop shipping to the US?

edit: Just read more posts concerning the store issues.

Any alternatives to ordering a Myoungshin Fanta Airbag stick?

Good information. I’m not sure what the weight is on the ls56 spring, but it’s the firmest lever that Seimitsu has which is one of the reasons why I like it so much. The main reason I want to try a Korean lever is because of how firm they are, so that wouldn’t be a problem. I main the Mishima’s the most in Tekken, so if the neutral is too much, I could just use it specifically for Tekken.

I was dumbfounded originally but they label US as America on the drop down options.

They are adding more and more stuff. I guess when the actual Makestick is added, people can go shop.

As for the Airbag, you can go to ISTMall’s GMarket page and order a stick with the lever. That’s what I originally did.

ive been using a (myoungshin) fanta here and there for a few years now. not just for tekken. its very usable for other fighting games too. i find that it delivers cleaner inputs in games like kof or guilty gear, (purely my opinion based on experience), but there is a higher learning curve, and longer time to get comfortable with it thats for sure.

just saying, its a bit too much calling korean levers purely just for tekken, players like Infiltration has proven that too.

i do agree that its terrible for shmups.

Almost forgot about Infiltration. Just out of curiosity does anyone know what lever he uses?

He uses a myoungshin fanta airbag, not sure if it is a IST Mall version or another mod.

from what ive seen, he uses a myoungshin fanta, not sure if it’s stock or one of the many versions out there.

Great news everyone!

As the $21600 quoted shipping cost seemed something a lot more reasonable if they actually were in Korean wons, I wrote an email to the contact address listed on Make Stick, to ask if things were just not ready, or if this was a currency bug.

Turns out it’s both. Rohan answered me things are still a work in progress, but after discussing the matter, he corrected the shipping cost bug, and after paying a much more reasonable $22 in shipping, I managed to pass my first order over there. Hurray!
