@sinonick Honestly there are a lot of factors in terms of what switches are good for what. In my personal experience grommets and actuator size are what I’m referring to. Like for example I’ve used a2s in a stock fujin v2 and absolutely hated it because of the high tension from the combination of bushing and grommet. Everyone is different and maybe it’s a placebo but who knows. A2s work very well with smaller actuators while A3s I prefer to use with big actuators and am5s I find are closer to a2s in this regard. Stock 309/kaze for example I will always use A3s but if I go to a 15mm actuator I will switch to A2s. Myoungshin, taeyoung , fujin i use am5s with a 14.5 to 15mm actuator but if I don’t have am5s I’ll use a2s.
@zero_requiem do you have panasonic microswitches btw ? i am trying to search what is a “real” panasonic microswitch look like cant find anything , i thought i had on my kaze v1 and v2 but apparently they are am5’s
I recently got a TES+ but idk how I feel about using Japanese balltop levers for Tekken but I like them for anime fighters. Does the Crown 309MJ fit in Japanese style sticks like the TES+? Also does it feel like the 309HelpMe lever? I already own a HelpMe (which was ok but I prefer my Fanta). I’m just looking for a decent korean lever so I can play tekken on my TES+ but when I want to switch I can just switch the stick back to ball top
@LBG Hate to break it to you, but you can’t fit a crown in the TES+ without modding it. To fit it you’d have to remove the entire front pcb, shave off one of the pcb stands with a razor, and even bending the hell out of the microswitches you’ll probably have to cut out more plastic in the back for it to fit.
You’re good man those are the same. Just different names for them just depends on the person referencing them. Some ppl call the thai, masushita, Panasonic and am5s.
I thought the Crown 309mj was made to fit in Japanese sticks though? I’d still have to mod the case?
@eyeamg0dly So I could still have the Korean inside but a balltop if I get a conversion shaft? Not bad… I might have to consider that option. Right now I was thinking of literally switching the entire lever whenever I wanted to play the other games lol
@Snubnoze thanks for the link! I always wanted to try the Golden Fanta mod but I couldn’t get in on it at the time they were going around. Maybe I’ll try again someday lol. For now I just want a crown that fits in my jap stick without literally drilling a new hole in my case… is such a thing possible or is what Lashford said the truth?
Even if the mounting holes are the same, your actual case might not be large enough to accommodate the size of the base of a Korean lever. Also, using a balltop handle on a Korean stick won’t make it feel more like a Japanese stick, if that’s what you were after. Your original idea of swapping the entire levers is better.
@NGY4M it’s there to prevent micro switches from moving under stress. Normally there is only 1 screw holding the switch unlike the fujin which utilizes 2 to prevent this kind of thing from happening.
Try it all out, and find what works best for you. You can use the stock grommet, it’ll work just fine, but I’d definitely suggest you spend a good bit of tomorrow trying it all out. Then you can hopefully find your “perfect” setup.
The 309mj is basically the collar-less version of the Helpme. So it should feel pretty close, might feel a bit different without the collar, and depending on what switches are in each of em, but basically the same idea.
