It’s not the grommet that makes the fujin heavy though it’s the white bushing. I’ve compared fujin’s grommet to myoungshin’s and I’m fairly certain they are identical. A golden fanta kit would resolve this because if you change the bushing then you are no longer able to use the shaft/actuator. I hear ya about playing mishimas and heavy grommets especially when wave dashing on 1p…could get painful.
they just got them back in stock, I actually had to wait for my order because they oversold them and after waiting for a week I still ended up not getting it, it’s funny in a really annoying way tbh. hopefully I get it right away so I can finally try a Korean lever.
What are the odds the same thing happened to me! Jenni emailed me a week after my order and told me they would refund it unless I wanted to wait. It was just a spare harness I got with the 309helpme so I just told her to send the order without harness. I hear ya lol I hate waiting.
It is definitely the grommit that is stiff its like around 60-65g when i use the softer grommit everything is reasonably looser the white bushing doesnt effect it at all its exactly the same size as regular fanta one just a smaller hole to fit fujin shaft/acuator only. I own a golden fanta but its pretty pointless using it with the fujin as the switches are 1mm closer you need a 15mm acuator and golden kit only has a 15.5mm which is too big i know wazwuz has added a 15mm one to his latest batch but i dont have that.
Seems just as good with the softer grommit i have in it for now
Well, regarding the Infiltration stick, it’s a bit odd out of the box. Its very high quality and part wise is superior to the 309. However there are some odd design choices with it.
For starters it has a large actuator and a massive throw range, yet the switches out of the box are the A3s from Gersung. With them installed, the stick acts like a korean lever with new 32s, being that the slightest bit of movement causes the switches to activate. Its bizarre since there is also a gate present that you don’t come close to hitting at any given point nor are you encouraged to do so. Needless to say I wasn’t comfortable with that style so I switched those switches out with A2s, known for the activation point being very late.
With A2s, the activation point goes more inline with the max range of the throw distance plus a small bit extra, however the A2 issue crops up and your diagonals become microscopic, forcing you to hit the gate to have them come out. This is fine and all, but since the gate isn’t pronounced in the slightest you roll over your corners anyways and get missed inputs. In addition, since you are riding the gate, the default grommet at 35A becomes a moderate issue and ends up slowing you down when wavedashing, but doing electrics is nice. Sidestepping and FF inputs are also quite pleasant due to the 35A, but Forward Back you have to exaggerate the input to cover for it. The 45A is way to stiff and the 25A might as well not exist. I have yet to try it with AM5s but from what I have read from this thread the activation point is basicly the same as the A3s, or I’m totally incorrect, since I have yet to find one person specify the small details regarding them. I have a set coming in from France at some point, but until then I’m personally out of options for using it. Due to that, I ended up unscrewing the red battop that came with it and slapped it on a conversion shaft for the 309 and went back to using that.
It’s like it attempts to be both a JLF and Korean stick out of the box but forgot half way what makes each good. I would only recommend it if you have a 3D printer to make another, more pronounced gate, enjoy having a super large and abnormal throw range and have the means to fix it, or want to use some of the parts from it in the 309. No real point in getting it for its default configuration when the 309 with new 32s achieve the same result for less money. If anyone can find the means to make it more enjoyable by all means, please do share. I love most of the characteristics of it but can’t get a nice inbetween point for activation, it’s always too extreme for me.
Alternatively, wouldn’t a smaller actuator fix the issue with the lever being too sensitive with A3 switches? And does it use the same grommets as the 309?
wow I didn’t notice this. thank you for the info.
now we can see Golden mod in action
Saint said to me that he already had sponsor from quanba, maybe thats why he gave it to dimeback.
seems there are mixed reviews on the infil k stick. so my next question is is there a gate for the Crown CWL-309MJ? im coming from the hori hyabusa with the kowal octagate. The reason why i thought the Infil stick would be a good choice because both the kowal and crown octagte are very circular which ive gotten use to. Ill admit going without a gate terrifies me especially since im finally doing electrics 9/10 times.
@wazwuz also do you have any interest in possibly making a k stick version of the phreakmods link? i spoke to them on twitter and it seems they have no aspirations on moving to k sticks so this would be a great time for someone to step up. I’m sure a lot of tournament players and travels would thank you immensely for it. I don’t know K stick internals but if it can be done I bet people would fork over good money for a Golden crown mod/link kit.
Maybe not a quick release version, but perhaps you can make it portable if you sever the shaft underneath the bat top and link both parts with a hex/flathead screw?
