Based on Gersungās naming scheme, it seems like they should have an identical operating force. I canāt say for sure about the actuation distance though.
Big thanks to @wazwuz for everything he does for us in the thread. Tried out the Fujin 2 lever I got in the mail in my current build with a Panzer 3 Korean Edition for a body, Crown Samducksa SDL buttons, and the Fujin. Iāll post some pictures up once I get the art in and finished. Anyone in here ever add LED setups to these new Crown buttons ?
Thatās the reason I bought the buttons. Iāve tested out some setups and itās looking pretty good but the set of LEDs I plan to use hasnāt arrived yet so I donāt have a finished product to show. I got rekt though.
Saint was using an Omni at those events I believe and I assume he was also using the SDB-201 buttons. I guess Crown hasnāt learned their lesson in plastic material.
He is using PASā OBS-MX blue set. He probably likes clicky buttons but is fed up with Crownās buttons not lasting.
By any chance are those A3ās going to appear in the inventory today? I have an order lined up but donāt want to check out until Iāve added the A3ās on to it.
Can confirm this Rohan sent me this email the other day āISTās sales manager said that the Fujin they are shipping now has Panasonic switch installed which were manufactured before they closed their product lines. I havenāt heard about current stock number but perhaps it would be in quite less.ā So looks like if youāve ordered or order from the current batch your most likely getting the original Panasonic switches. Good news! Now mine just needs to arrive. Ordered on the 8th and still yet to arrive in the UK. My order has only just swapped from payment completed status (which it seemed to be on for an eternity) to shipping so should be here soon. Still a tracking number would have been nice.
Same here. Just waiting for the A3 switches to be available. Intended to get the 309MJ as well from FA, but Makestick came through. Just wanted the A3 switches to see how Taeyoung Fanta feels like with them.
how come you want to change the taeyoung? it feels great to me with the A2s and i think the A3 or the panasonics with the same actuator would make it unusable.
iām interested in ideas on how to make a smaller actuator for the taeyoung like Saint did, this would probably make switches with less pre-travel like panasonics or A3s a better fit
Wanna see how it feels with the Golden Fanta mod with the A3 switches. Iām having a tougher time than I thought I would with the stiffness of the stock Taeyoung grommet. With the Golden Fanta mod, I can tailor-fit my preferred switch/actuator/shaft/grommet config. I get the impression from what I read here that the A2 switches (on the Taeyoung) have pretty narrow diagonals, and coupled with stiffness of the grommet, Iām exerting a lot of force just to execute diagonals, else I miss them. [ A couple of times when checking in Practice mode in T7, QCF registers as (d,f) instead of (d,d/f,f), and Paulās Death Fist didnāt register too when this happens ] The 309MJ Iāve just received and installed on another stick, feels more comfortable and easier to execute this, and it comes with the A3 switches. If this line of thought isnāt correct, please tell me. Iām very new with Korean sticks. Maybe a better solution would be changing to a softer grommet but that will come with the Golden Fanta mod.
Come to think of it, I can just swap the switches over between the Fanta and 309MJ and see how it goes. slaps forehead
I find it harder to hit corners on the new Taeyoung than any other lever I have. I bought the 309MJ and it came with the A2s but I can hit corners with that thing way easier than the Taeyoung.
I donāt know what the reason is. Maybe the switches, maybe the actuators, maybe both. Iām not sure where I can get new actuators but Iām definitely interested in trying the A3s to see if it improves the diagonals at all.
Damn, $100 for the lever + shipping is a bit out of my league.
Crown settled for the erroneous term of ācirclesquareā for the rounded octo-square gate, so you should be warned that Crownās SDL301 ācirclegateā is NOT a rounded square gate as seen for example in the stock JLF.
All buttons have their flaws, some being more serious than others. obsmx modules are not fastened in any shape or form to the sanwa button body, gamerfinger buttons have inherent design flaws concerning the plungers which pop looseā¦and now we learn that the new Crown SDB buttons housing futaba keyboard switches fail in an undisclosed manner , supposedly the latter would break ā¦
This business of having SDB Crown buttons fail on public release is intriguing. Either something really wrong is going on in the factories where the buttons are made, or simply Crown cut on R&D costs by skipping the testing of the production models, waiting for feedback from the gamers instead. Iām curious to hear what Crown has to say eventually on the subject.
