Hi guys, my name is TAO and finally accustomed to my life in korea! i’ve been teaching in Ansan city for about 2 months. there’s a local arcade here with SF4 and i play there sometimes. i THINK i’m the best there but when i first arrived, i was rusty (back on october 20thish) and i had a hard time beating people since i hadn’t played the game since october (my first game was around november 15)
ANYWAY haha after i go and get a haircut, i’m gonna try to check out some of these arcades! the easiest one for me to get to is the one at chongshin university. since i’m on the blue line (line 4)
but jungin sounds like the place to go!!! i hope i can hang with the players in korea cuz i was a top level player back in canada. but probably not hahaha

hi guys. tao is a tall china man with small penis like every asian and he plays fighting games. altho he acts kinda homo-ish sometimes but he also turn on the guys around him. he is also the supreme champion of the earth.
i’ve been in korea for a few months now and have been to a good percentage of arcades in seoul. as you guys may know, there isn’t much 3s in korea, but there’s a pair in shindang like laugh said, and green arcade (the famous tekken arcade) in daerim just got a pair! + they got two pairs of sf4 last week.
the board was installed just two days ago, but there’s stiff comp there already.
directions to daerim green:
exit daerim station (on line 2 and 7), exit #11, and head straight. you’ll have to eventually cross at a 4-way intersection, but you won’t ever have to turn left or right. just head straight. after crossing the street, there will be a set of apartments on your left. keep walking until the apartments are gone. soon you’ll see green arcade (in vertical korean ???) on the second floor of a pink themed karaoke bar.
people usually smoke out the window of the staircase, so there’s a slight chance you may hear arcade noises from there.
and keep in mind it’s not super close to the subway station, so don’t get discouraged if you feel like you passed it… keep walking!
i’d be glad to play anyone who’s in korea, so PM me. i play sf4, and i used to play 3s… haha, but i’m rusty as hell.

hi guys. i dropped by isu arcade today between 4:30 and 5:30. played a few matches and ended up trading games with this one dude’s fucking bison. bison is my main but i’ve never played a really good one before and fucking stomp kick and ex stompy kick is FUCKING GAY!!!
i really hope you guys aren’t much better than this dood cuz i really hate losing hahaha
anyway, i’d say i did pretty well and the competition is noticeably better than ansan so awesome!
are you guys saying i should check out green arcade?? i didn’t even get to look around ISU arcade cuz the SF4 machine was near the door… do they have third strike or cvs2?? does ANY arcade still have those games and have competition that still plays??
i wanna meet up with you guys but i don’t wanna be a disappointment. i’ve had random people ask for a challenge and then end up being really bad players… and i DON"T wanna be that dude hahaha like i’m the neighborhood champion… but only really in marvel =/ but my fragile pride will still get hurt if you guys rape me!!!

is isu no longer the place to be? it’s SUPER easy for me to get to, no transfers on the subway. i also REALLY HATE waiting in line haha ideally, if i lose, there’s nobody else playing haha and today, it seemed like since i was a new face or something, people just waited in line on the other side and let me play. it was really nice of them!

i too came to teach english. i’m taking a break at the moment, though. here are answers to some of your Q’s:
yeah, head stomp is pretty crazy. there have been a few dozen times where i was really dumbfounded by exactly which part of my hitbox bison’s feet were hitting. it’s like he’s hitting my shadow or something, and i’ve often seen it beat srk’s straight out.
green has sf4 and 3s (and 5 billion tekken6 machines). there are some really good players there (in all games) if you’re interested in some stiff comp. plus the lady there is super nice. laugh is good in all games, and there were a few guys there, including one DBkoopa, that are reallllly good at 3s. oh and you can always play on ggpo, if you can’t make it to the arcade.
isu does not have either cvs2 or 3s right now, unfortunately. neither of those two games get that much love in this land. but there are 3s machines in shindang and green. i don’t think anyone goes to shindang to play much, though. i dunno about cvs2 cuz i never learned that game (unfortunately).
i wouldn’t worry about being “good enough” to play against me. i’ll probably never rank top 10 in any tourney, and even if i did, it’s just fun to play anyone who’s really into street fighter, no matter how good they are. plus, i get my ass handed to me all the time by people i know i shouldn’t lose to… haha.
isu gets some really good players, but i think it really depends on what time and day you go. i believe ppungko, one of the best korean players, plays there. but he was out of town the last time i heard. i’m sure he’ll be back to rape us all soon enough. but in general, i believe isu is a place for good comp. i may be mistaken, but they even got a loke test for blazblue. it was gone by the time i went there a few days ago, though. =(
but in general, save for a very few handful of places, i think you might be surprised by the sf4 comp wherever you go. because gaming culture is so huge here, i think your average korean person is better at street fighter than one might expect.

hi guys! so i had a 6 hour gaming binge yesterday at green arcade.
i went to jungin arcade but there was like one dude playing chun who after losing to me played on the other cab. like why aren’t these thingies LINKED?!?! WTF!!! even back home in canada, you play against ALL FOUR cabinets. not just the one directly behind yours. after getting first and second place in the score ranking hahaha i went to green arcade
green arcade is fucking DOPE! i wish i learned TEKKEN OMGGGGGG too bad i have never played more than 10 games combined in all the tekkens hahaha there was like… 10 or something head to head setups!!! there was like 8 people who played sf4 the whole time. however, 6 of them sucked haha one guy was using bison who played sorta like me in the beginning, i had a hard time with him and the score was roughly 2-1 or something for me? ended up streaking him 5 in a row with sagat (i suck at mirror matches) so i had to use sagato. anyway, he was a pretty nice dude, like 5’7" or something, skinny and had kinda big teeth. he talked to me but i can’t speak like more than 20 words of korean so i’m just like I DON"T KNOW KOREAN
then, his buddy came and played on the other cabinet. he was fucking around with ryu and it was pretty good! i tried picking some random dudes and he beat them and then i picked bison and he thought he knew the match well cuz he’s used to playing his friend but he lost a few times and i could tell he is used to winning cuz he’s like wtf! it seemed like the stick was jumping forward a lot but i think he was just nervous cuz it was fine when i used it lol. anyway, finally after like 4 games he picks sagat. and i was doing well at first! trading games etc but i would never get 2 streaked but beat him often with 2 streaks. his sagat was really good. possibly the best i’ve ever played (but i haven’t played a sagat since october and this was in canada) soooo i think i lost or something and went to play third strike. but i think after a few games, he started to stop thinking i’m a scrub with stupid tactics and realized i’m prolly from out of town cuz he’s never seen me before
so i played third strike hahaha and FUCK I SUCK NOW!!! rusty as fucking hell. can you tell me if third strike at green arcade is fucked up? it looks like it has frames missing or something. but that might be cuz i have been only playing sf4 at it’s double frame gameplay at high def for a long time that i’m not used to seeing old school third strike. anyway haha fuck i didn’t know wtf i was doing! so i finally remembered after using chun, beat my opponent, and then the dude who was playing me in sf4 came and challenged me but he got raped. haha i don’t think he plays third strike. then he went back to the sf4 machine
afterwards, i came back and i was a little worn out so i started picking other chars but the guy talked to me and after i told him i don’t speak korean, he asked me to pick my best guy
so we have like a little showdown haha with bison vs his sagat and i was doing so well! i got to 6-4 for me and then i accidentally picked balrog… TO WHICH I WON hahaha my girlfriend gave me a video call during the match and i left the machine to talk to her but like the dude was so nice, he waited a full minute for me to finish LOL. then with 30 seconds left, we played and i was winning, and he missed an uppercut and i just let him kill me cuz wtf, i have never used boxer before. plus, he was fucking around haha i’m not gonna be a dick. so like, then i play more third strike and after about 30 minutes, i go back to play him
i win the first one and then he RAPES me in the last two games before i had to go home. ugh
so sad
like utter rape. either i sucked cuzza exhaustion or he figured me out. it’s prolly a combination of the two but i HOPE it’s not all cuz he just figured me out. final score in the end was 7-6 me i THINK. but he’s definitely better than me at sf4. better combos, better execution… i just prolly have more capcom experience than he does.
anyway haha i wonder if he’s actually a good player. or if i just lost to a local scrub. cuz then i’d be so sad haha. i’m writing this monster essay cuz it’s the first gaming binge i’ve had in korea and fuck… like my ears were ringing and i couldn’t sleep after i got home and like i woke up at like 4 am today and couldn’t sleep cuz i was dreaming about bison hahaha

anyway, third strike was mostly empty during the day and when people did play, they were pretty bad and left after like one game
also, hey laugh. my friend Jay says you’re the best cvs2 player in korea??? he also said you are at least as good as him and he’s a lot better than me haha so i wanted to try to beat you during my stay in korea but since there’s like NO cvs2 anywhere i doubt i’ll ever be able to. i haven’t played since evo 2007 and i only played during the tourney. before that, last i played was in 2006 before the arcade in my university shut down. so i’ll prolly get destroyed but i like biting off more than i can chew!
