Man Korea has THE BEST arcade prices in the world, easily. That’s so dope. But how long would 300 won a game take for the arcade operators to pay off the whole setup? Taito X, HD cabs, etc…
Are they connected to the internet? Cards? The SF4 setup in Singapore didn’t have cards.

2 million won?!?! You are getting ripped up the ass. Nobody even works for that pittance of a salary anymore, lowest I’ve seen (circa 2007) was 2.2 million.
Also, you should check the currency tables. Korea’s won has lost 40% of its value. 40%!!! I lost about 4000 USD because of this crap and it’s not gonna fix itself anytime soon. Also, that means all the foreign teachers (not just you) are getting screwed; all of their salaries/wages just lost their inherent value as well.
2 million won in October, 2008 is barely 1500 USD. That is some serious stuff. At this point in time (mainly due to the financial crisis that somehow hit Korea hardcore), I would recommend a different line of work.
So yeah, with all these factors above, you should really re-negotiate your salary. If they refuse to budge, DROP THEM. Only 2 million, I can’t believe it…what an insult, no matter which school you came from…
edit: also, the thing about you being Chinese. That will screw you over hardcore…in Taiwan. In Korea, it’s not so much of an issue, and there are definitely more resources for CBCs here than in any other country besides maybe Japan. But I dunno, maybe I just got lucky in my case. Korea puts more value into the “meat-and-potatoes” of education than Taiwan does (Taiwan only wants a white face teaching English, even if the white face is German with a heavy accent and barely speaks English)

Sup all! Its me again from Pusan. Found an arcade here with SF4 but so far no1’s a challenge for my Chun hoho. Will be heading to Seoul this weekend (the first of many trips I hope), will check out Jungin, ATEC etc

I’ll be arriving in Seoul Saturday morning, leaving Sunday night, so Saturday night’s the night I’ll be hitting the arcades up.
The Church I go to here is filled with foreign English teachers. Lots of grievances regarding the Won being shit compared to the USD…but at least here in Pusan the cost of living is low. I’m sure it’s higher in Seoul, but I agree with every1 else here that 2million won is a pretty crap salary if you teach in Seoul.

Haha yea, I think you’ll usually find capcom players to be less uptight about their games than say, Tekken players as we’ve talked about for abit.
As for the first video, yea, that was a semi-final match. I guess the Bison player couldn’t accept the fact that he couldn’t even tick the other guy once and kept for it.
And the top players play at speed 4 here. I think there’s one cab on speed 3 and we wouldn’t mind playing on that.
