also i do you guys know anything about prepaid phones? in america i know that all you have to do is grab one of the rack and you’re good to go, is there anything similar here? i only need to know bcuz i lost my passport and apparently i can’t get a phone without one.
oh and ATM, your job sounds exactly like mine except i make a little more bcuz i get rural and multischool bonuses.
Thurst, there are pre-paid phones available. I’m not too sure how to get one though. I’ll try to find out for you. I got a lot of family here and I know my aunt bought me one when I first arrived. I’ll ask her for some information on how to get a pre-paid phone.
Sorry to hear about your passport man. I was in a similar pickle earlier. I lost my korean ID, my ATM card and my credit car. Not nearly as bad as losing a passport though. Hopefully that all gets straightened out for you.
Also, I think there are some other places to play SF, but most of us just meet at Isu because it is pretty much in the center and it is easy for everyone to find.

anyway, there’s a lot of small local places but you gotta go exploring. some of the shittiest looking arcades have SF4
also… you shoulda just put it in a carry-on bag. pretend like you just bought it or something. they don’t limit what you can carry on in that scenario because you coulda just bought it at one of their stores in the airport… they took out the sf4 in my local arcade. tell me how you hold out in the rural areas haha
also, are you like black or white? or a noticeable minority? i’m thinking that it’ll make your life easier… at least they KNOW you can’t speak korean and don’t think you’re retarded when you act like a retard haha (LIKE ME cuz i’m full chink but i look so korean)
edit: ok and here’s the thing. i think you need a passport to get a bank account and your alien card. did you lose your alien card too? cuz if you can’t get a bank account, you can’t get internet lol… or gas and electricity. unless you have those set up and only lost your passport. i guess you could get by… but get that replaced! write to the american embassy or something. you can get a cell phone easily. some schools even hook it up for the native teacher. but like… a passport is a nice thing to have. we should hit up bangkok or something!!

anh like i had it in my suitcase and at the airport it weighed in at like 61kg, so i took the 360 out and it was 50 so it was ok. and then i had another bag which i could’ve put it in but like i said i’m a dumbass so i just told my dad that to take it back to the car, moral of the story though is that i’m an idiot.
but yeah, i’m going to the embassy in seoul on wednesday with the head teacher of my school who speaks english and hopefully i’ll have a new one. and yeah it’s pretty fucked bcuz i lost it before i set up my bank acct, phone, internet and alien registration card. i’ve been hitting up the pc bang around the corner and piggybacking off of someone’s wireless in my building every once in awhile.
oh and i’m black so i’m obviously foreign. this whole black president thing is awesome though, pretty sure it makes people think nicer things about seeing me walking down the street lol. where i work (yugu) is pretty rural, but gongju seems pretty urban to me, i plan on going to daejon over the weekend so i’ll compare then but yeah i’m not completely out in the sticks i just think that if you’re not in seoul or busan they assume you’ll be unhappy so they pay you a little more lol.
and do you guys meet up a lot? bcuz i’d def be down to hook up with SRK korea crew for some gaming/drinking/etc…or whoring if that’s what ATM is trying to push for…actually, what am i saying, i’d totally be down for whoring!

the name of the arcade is jungin and its located next to noryangjin station on line 1 i think. i think someone else on this board should give directions by subway. i remember the subway station there being really confusing. there are a lot of buses that go there as well, but yeah, once you get there, you have to go down an alley for a little bit.
its probably best to go with someone if you decide to check it out someday. i think its a bit further away for most people. its like an hour away for me whereas isu is like 20-30 minutes away.
edit: hey laugh, i was just looking through the tech thread and your thread on modding the saulabi and this website http://www.stick.pe.kr/shop/. are these sticks any good? from my limited korean, it looks to me like they’ll put in a fanta stick for 10,000 more? and i guess you’d want to replace the buttons with crown though the default buttons look ok to me in the pic. what’s your opinion of these laugh. i’m thinking of getting a PS3 this summer or at the very least, the pc version of sf4 since i have a decent desktop with a vid card at home
