Konami Fighting Games

yugioh is a fucking terrible game anyway so who cares. if youre gonna be a pathetic tcg playing nerd at least be an adult pathetic nerd and play mtg

Deadly Arts was cool even though all the designs were hideous. I loved beating someone up after creating a character and how they’d be all “Here, pick one of my moves to take with you!” So awesome.

Brr…i played this game yesterday…really awful :confused:

I demand a Beatmania fighting game with all the DJ characters. The cover of 10th style even looks like a fighting game cover.

Does anyone know if Konami is ever going to release or have a new fighting game franchise in the near future? I really enjoyed that TMNT arcade fighting game and I heard they made a Castlevania fighting game and it looks decent but I wish it was released on ps3 because I hate the wii lol but I find it hard to believe they don’t have a sucessful fighter yet since almost every other japanese company has one and isn’t fighting games big over there in Japan? I thought they were the more popular Japanese game company that makes games for every genres and Konami is one of my favorite game companies. Shit I’ll even make one for them someday since I’m in school for video gaming design lol p.s. who here has played Castlevania judgement? Is it worth picking up?

@Yin-Yang_Dragon
I’ve played it(CasJud) on the wii emulator, and I think it seemed decent and quite fun. I also hear the online play is great(couldn’t test obviously), but there’s probably not many people left there by now.

Some bad things about it(imo):

  • The supers are “cinematic” and take a lot of time, I hate that. At least give me a button to skip the cinematic…
  • The camera can be very annoying

Other than those, it was a pleasant experience and I would very much like to see a sequel, ironing things out a bit more.

(Also, I loved how Dracula plays kinda like he acts when he’s the boss in the old games… Standing still and teleporting around, throwing out projectiles. Can he even walk normally? :rofl: I never unlocked him to play myself…)

He can move around like the rest of the cast, but he plays completely different. He lacks the mobility and combos options the other 13 fighters have. Also he doesn’t have a jump, instead, he spawns into the air and floats. The move drains meter until he spawns back down. Also his roll is replaced by a teleport that can escape combos with a little meter. He’s really hard to play.

And robber, I used to own Deadly Arts/G.A.S.P. It was a fun game and with the create-a-fighter mode, it opened up endless possibilities for juggling combos. I also agree most of the designs were retarded. I did like Miki though.

I guess it does sound pretty fun but I hate the fact that the supers are cinematic and takes a long time but I guess I’m going to skip it cuz of that since I’m quite impatient lol but maybe I’ll get it anyway but dracula does sound awesome though but I hope it plays good and I heard so many bad reviews about this game maybe because its not an rpg game like its supposed to be lol.

It’s not a really bad game, it’s just so limited and has alot of bugs to work out. When I play online, I sometimes get frustrated with the mechanics a bit. Sometimes I attack objects for pickups when I was trying to attack the opponent, simply cause I was too close to the object when I attacked. I also hate the limited command list. Every character has at least 3 melee combos, 6 specials, an unblockable, and a super. There are no throws (except for 2 unblockables) so there no other way to punish blockers except using unblockable or forcing a guard break.

Other then that, it’s not bad. You may like the cutscene supers, but Aeon’s super is pretty gangsta. He says something different to every fighter when he does it.

“Right on time, the moment was preordained.”

There was also Fighting Bujutsu (or Fighting Wu-Shu?). I’ve only seen screenshots of it though. Don’t know if its good or not, or if it was even released. It looked VF-ish and used 3 buttons.

SNES by far. The GEN one was ridiculous. April owned everyone FREE. Like the only person who came close was Casey cause of his down taunt into HCF+P. FREE damage from pretty much anywhere on the screen.

SO LONG LOSER!

SNES TF was amazing. It’s basically Super Turbo Beta. I actually prefer it over ST.

Bloody roar bitches. XD

It might not of been the most balanced fighter out there, but it was bloody cool.

Uh…there’s Deadly Arts: G.A.S.P.

Konami also did Sunday vs. Magazine, which was so bad it’s good.

Holy shit, i cant believe that this thread got 3 pages and still no one commented about Dragoon Might:

By far, is THE Konami fighting game, with Tournament Fighters.

That looks crazy as fuck. Like World Heroes (but good) + Guilty Gear.
I must play this.

Yeah, I liked being the mole :wgrin:

Thank You!

I can’t believed nobody else mentioned Fighting Bujutsu!

It was a gorgeous looking fighter on Konami’s Cobra system.

I actually had the chance to play it when it first came out at an Amusement Park around here called Castle Park.

The game was good, awesome graphics and even awesome costumes for each character, they had Supers too with a cool looking Super effect after you beat a character with it, and the cabinet was Godlike!

I think the cab broke down too fast, so the game was there for a week or so then they got rid of it:sad:

Too bad the game will never be emulated or something, I don’t even know if anybody has a working board for it anymore.

As far as i know Alucard from MAMEDev has made some test on the Cobra hardware, but you know. is MAME… you will need a NASA computer for play it on decent speed, as mostly all 3D games on MAME.
