the recent sunday vs magazine is a konami fighter…
A Castlevania fighter sure would be nice…
… oh wait…
That was actually developed by Hudson (and published, I think), IIRC.
And I don’t think we’ll ever see Yugi in there, considering his manga origin.
Konami’s always been one of those companies that dabbles a bit in everything they don’t already have a big entry in.
Examples: the fighting game thing. They’ve put out a couple, but none of them (that I’ve played anyway, never played Kensei) have ever seemed polished enough to be taken seriously. They also made a rip off of Mario Kart (Konami Krazy Racers, which was actually pretty good) back in the day, Konami Dream Fighters as a SSB clone, etc. Anyway, they’ve done it a bunch, including the Castlevania fighting game that just came out which is a dead cop of Power Stone. Some of the rip offs are good, some not so much, but there’s usually SOMETHING redeeming about them. They’re getting ready to release a Castlevania arcade game that heavily borrows from House OF The Dead.
just wondering which is better snes or gensis tmnt was better?
anyone talks shit about one of my favorite companies is going down. fucking silent hill games and castlevaina games, plus there rpgs are some of the greatest games ever made
When World TV Fighters came out they just bought out Hudson who were still doing devlopment and publishing still with Konami’s push and influence.
And Konami owns some licensing rights to Yu-Gi-Oh via the rights to the card game distribution. So you never know about that.
ReXXXSoprano: Oh, I forgot about the card games. That’s still a possibility, but who knows if the license moves to someone else.
PFH: It seems like the general opinion is that the SNES version is far superior in a gameplay standpoint than the Genesis one.
Absolutely nothing.
Billy, Jelly and their punk theme were out of control. Actually, all the music in that game was top notch.
Snes version smoked the genesis one.
Better graphics/music/voice
The kicker was the genesis version was TWO buttons.
Punch and kick. That was it.
It also had infinite throw loops for all but one character.
Poor Donatello…
Megadrive version was shitty, in gameplay, sound, and graphics.
Gameplay, yeah.
But, graphics-wise, it wasn’t actually that bad. It was a more serious style than SNES’s cartoony approach.
And, it had some pretty nice beats.
Seeing as how this thread is fairly useless anyway, how do you pronounce Konami?
I pronounce it like economy without the e.

Around 00:52 they say it.
I pronounce it like they say in the video, but english is not my main language and my pronounciation of letters is closer to japanese.
I think english/US people often mispronounce japanese words. The way you guys pronounce letters are pretty different.
Sorry, but I’m still a little pissy about Konami doing this to UDE.

It’s like if you were to attend EVO every year, and then all of a sudden Capcom’s like “Fuck you” and bans every Capcom game from EVO hands.
No more regionals or shounens for me. No more prizes, no more glory.
Fuck Konami, those bastards.
Also says it when you insert a coin during Crime Fighters (0:20), which they do A LOT here:
