Nah we both played XI, the properties of the DMs have changed ever so slightly since then. Have you played XII? =)
yeah this isnt 97.
Hell it was like that in 2k2. I’ve seen it used as AA a few times in XII; maybe it’s only invincible on the top half?
Even in 98, Iori’s DM could be hit on the very very bottom of his feet. That’s why a few moves hit Iori out of it, such as Lucky’s basketballs and King’s Surprise Rose could work at times also for some reason (maybe it hit in his back deep enough) The move wasn’t 100% invincible, even in 98.
hence my post, 97 was the last kof you could use it to stuff ANYTHING when done at right time.
I think he meant to say it had no invincibility at start up. Because we obviously know all rush supers in XII has invincibility after start up. Some/most of the other years Iori’s super as most rush supers had invincibility at the beginning of the move if you used C version (sometimes A version). Also as said above some of the years he could be hit out of it with low attacks. Its just hard to remember which year had which properties =P
Oops, mistake fixed. Good catch.
Iori top tier in a kof game? I would have never thought!
its the natural order of things
Damn, poor Clark, I think if he had a bigger movelist which had him with his Running Grabs and Anti-air grab (Napalm Stretch), I think he might’ve been a little higher in the tiers.
…but that’s just my speculation, as it stands, Clark seems like a character that does require some work to fully utilize from the vids I’ve seen.
I have a habit of usually using hard to use characters in fighting games, so I’ll prob. include Clark in a team when I play the game.
Those moves weren’t even used much in other games he was good in. His main weaknesses in this are the throw system, and that every single one of his jumping attacks gets beat by low Bs from some characters. He could also use some more time to set something up after he lands a grab, like Raiden and Daimon.
duo im playing for sure no matter where he falls in the tier but i was debating with either kyo(is looking very solid) and iori not to sure about him. i have player iori in all the other kof’s also i was thinking of athena, robert, and maybe ben/terry so im only sticking to two teams thats it im not gonna worry about who is top and who is bottom in this game but learn my match ups. duo ftw
Really, it is way too early for this. Look at the newest BlazBlue tier list from Arcadia for July. Carl jumped up from nearly the very bottom to spot number four. Someone found his infinite. Who knows what is to come in KoF XII. Don’t pay attention to tier lists. Have fun with the game. Pick who you like. If you think you’re playing to win tournaments/money matches, those are kind of reserved for the upper echelon players. Of course we aren’t looking to be scrubs, but beating the best players isn’t happening for most of us. Practice, boost your score online, and like I said, have some fun!
I’m just glad that Iori is still cool (despite his current S rank) even though he lost his rekkas which is what originally attracted me to him in CvS2. That makes me sad but he is my favorite SNK character. Fuck tier lists. SFIV…I can own with Vega.
Thanks for stopping by
…though I must say I’m quite glad that Kyo is having an equal showing this go.
It’s about time he got pulled up out of the B+ to C range that he’d been mired in for so damned long.
OK, here’s something that apparently a lot of people don’t pick up on: tiers are good for more than knowing who to pick. I don’t use tiers to decide who to use. They’re a reference for knowing each character’s strengths and understanding the game better as a whole. And yeah, tiers change, but those starting foundations are necessary to give people a starting ground and build their understanding up from there. If Carl hadn’t started so low then I’ll bet you less people would have been motivated to find something that would improve him, and that throw loop might never have been discovered. This shit helps whether you want it to or not
game looks decently balanced. are there any “this is stupid” match-ups in the game? ala Zangief vs Seth?
as far as i know , No
Is there an update on the tier list for the home version? I wanna know where Mature and Elizabeth stack up.
I can fully agree with that arcadia tier list, except for Leona and Benimaru being so low, but I THINK this list is based on damage potential on the most commonly landed moves. And in that respect, Beni and Leona don’t deal that much damage pound for pound, the rounds usually take a long time for them to KO unless they have some meter or CC chances, so I can see where they are.
