KOF2K2: Back in SA

Never even thought of Takuma…

His jabs are pretty effective in 2K2. I mean, he can do about four and connect his two-kick attack. Not only that, but the fact that his QCB A or C can do good counter damage…if that could connect with his jabs as well, then… I don’t even want to think about that.

I like how Takuma can be played, but I can’t do that myself. It’s too patient and jab-dependent for me, but hey, whatever works, kind person!

If you are want to learn Takuma just ask Devoy on some pointers. He know how to use those counters and his super. His hits Takuma’s rush super out of nowhere! He is insane w/ him.

I found out this good crazy Andy max Combo for all the people that want to master Andy out there ( i did on my comp using the keyboard, still need some practice to use it w/ a stick). :

In max mode and in corner:
Jump in B or Crouching C > S.C > Hcf C > cancel into Dashing Elbow move > Cancel into Hcf B > Cancel into Qcf K in air > C follow up > Cancel into Qcb Hcf BD.

If you have questions i Have it recorded in my digital camera.

Same combo but not in corner:
Jump in B or Crouching C > S.C > Hcf C > Cancel into dashing elbow move > Cancel into Hcf D > Cancel into Qcf K while in air (you have to do the motion faster since it isn’t in the corner) > C followup > Cancel into Qcb Hcf BD

If you want to do more damage in that combo, it is a little more difficult:

Instead of cancelling into his Qcf K after the Hcf K you can instead do the dashing elbow move again > cancel into Hcf K > Cancel into his elbow again > cancel into Hcf K > then do the rest of the combo.

Note: In the more adavance of the version this combo you have to input the command for the dashing elbow fast after the HCf K.

This is a good combo.
Damage: 80 - 85 %
Power bars needed: 3

There are good rewards to learning combos like that…

I congratulate you on that combo. It is impressive from the looks of what is typed…

Yeah, man. That combo does do a hefty amount of damage, and there are many variations of it so it can be used in real battles. There is another one I’m trying to do that takes 5 bars and includes his HSDM.

As for Takuma, I just need some practice with him. I need to know everyone so there are no surprse MAX combo or anything i’m hit with.

It was rather surprising to see Jose there last night. I had not expected him to stop by during the week.

He wants to come on Friday so that he can get some more play in. I’m just glad that I could get my Mai trap-HSDM trick to work on him. I did it three times in our entire time playing…

That was a great time yesterday. Nice to know Jose still has his team in tip-top shape. You can’t let your guard down on him.

He plays a real aggresive style. He’s got good offense, but if you play as aggresive as he does, he’ll break down often. That’s how I see it, anyways.

I’m still somewhat shellshocked about beating Juan with only Leona in my first game of the day. I was just there, thinking, “Wow…that is never going to happen again…”

And Athena…I see now why I can be so stubborn and not die so quickly…that was cool.

Good times, good times…

Does anyone here have any strats on Ramon, Usually i just abuse his wall run into grab.

GG’s to Jon and Devoy today. MAn House you were really acing me today. Don’t know whats up. Either you have been practicing or i haven’t been playing enough? Still got melee thoug  . It’s never a a$$ whopping like that. But you really distroyed me.

So how bout those pointers on Ramon? Anyone?

I’ve seen some patterns with Ramon players:

  1. Use the unblockable follow-up to Tiger Lord mainly.
  2. The Rolling Sobat (dp + K) is an overhead.
  3. The S.Cancel timing after the pick-up elbow is somewhat tricky. I’ve seen people do the motion slowly and early, just like Iori’s follow up.

well ramon is pretty interesting i would use but i have trouble controlling him , but i’ll give u some pointers.

1.if u ever see someone jump in at u use your short jp cd its fast and has alot of priority. also may want to use that when the round begins.

2.trying using his dp+b alot once u know him down run do a couple of jabs the do the motion for the move once u get it down mix it up instead do the jabs don’t do the dp+b do crouching d keep him guessing to which u want him to go either making him block down or to stand. well u need to expirement and get the opponent used to your tactics.

3.qcb+a the dropkick is pretty good ass well for those who abuse the short jump when u see them short jump do the move let ramon walk back alittle and then let go so u can hit the jumping opponent in the air

well u just need practice and alot of mix ups oh yeah his jumping c is a crossover abuse that as well.

there u go have fun oh yeah

MAXIMA AVENGER!!!

Does anybody know what Shermie’s Dodge does (ABC)?

BTW what is that Mai trap?

Mai’s one of my favs to play Usually use Mai/Andy/Ralf as my main team in 2k2.

i’m mexican and i lived in mexico for a very long time. a lot of people are insanely good at kof, but then again, there are some really shitty mexican players who just outright think they are the biggest shit in town. they’re shit, alright. :stuck_out_tongue:

it depends.

I was wondering if we should have I tournament of 2002 sometime soon. I know a few people have wanted one since we’ve gotten it back for a while now. So, if anyone as ideas on when or how to hold this tourney, go ahead and throw 'em out here.

That be pretty sweet, but i would say a roulette type of tournament. Thats what i would say and i’ll help out if u need it. or some team based games teams of 2 or 3 but since we r so few i would say teams of 2 best 2 out of 3. u all call for this just putting in some ideas.

can anyone teach me some leona stuff? as well as some of the basics in the game, new to the kof games and don’t really get the combo system or the other systems.

I think you should have a 2k2 tourney.

Crow - Leona’s got a lot going for her in that she can be a threat both in the air and on the ground. If you have super, then people WON’T want to jump for fear of eating a V-Slasher (unseen and near-unstoppable priority in 2K2).

Some basic stuff:

  • Standing D (2-hit) is IMO something to be familiar with. It’s basically the starting move for a few of her combos. Standing D (2), forward B, QCF HCB C or Standing D (2), QCB HCF B or D are two eas combos that involve supers.

  • Poking: While Leona has a good amonut of charge moves, her pokes are something to use at will. Her long legs give her a good reach. Crouching B will be a friend to you…=D

  • Riot Mode (Up, down, up, down, up, down I think): While it may take half your remaining life, it’s a good pressure game to use. Her speed will make it harder for opponents to know what’s coming, but the risk is that her speed can also be bad if you jump into a sort of trap. While in Riot, you can do her HSDM after Standing D (2). Just be a little cautious in Riot Mode.

Can’t think of much more, but if I do, then I’ll post some more for you!

=D
