What sucks though is that Vanessa (cant say Vanessie that is a girls name in Dallas lol) is supposedly mid-tier. I knew she would be weakened…I knew it…
even with her infinite which can be Broken ala Saving Shift.

Yeah her moves lack the priority she had in her past games althought she does make up for it in speed. Also her jumping in A is really good mostly stops anything real good to pressure with but, u can’t spam her b,f+ A or C any more but shes still good.
Yeah i saw that i was like ahhhhhhhhh no infinite damn it looks flashy to.
alright laters
Kinda new to kof, any chance you guys could teach me some stuff or tips on blue mary if it’s no trouble? what are the uses of small jump?

K theses are the Tips l can give with Mary well always uses her standing b down b for pressure. aways when a person is jumping in with mary do qcb than qcb again than c most of the time you will get get them with the grab. some simple combos with Mary jumping d than standing c than forward a than charge b f k than fd k and if they block do qcf c just to mix it up when ever they jump do dm lp lk f hp another simple combo jumping d standing c after first hit standing a than charge b f than cancel to dm. Simple max mode combos cross over your opponent with jumping d than standing d than forward b on the first hit cancel to bc max mode than run standing d forward b cancel to ldm. Here a pretty hard one but it just takes practices jumping d than standing d than forward b cancel on first hit again than run standing d than forward b on first hit again charge b f a cancel to dm lp ,lk, forward , hp. Hope that this helps if you need anymore help don’t hestitate to ask:wink:
I’m not sure what you mean in the first example with the jump in. Did you mean if they go for a jump in use the qcb + c counter? and on the third combo with the charge b,f you meant the b,f + b or d then cancel to dm right? also was wondering what is the purpose of her qcb + a or c and are there any purposes to using strong attacks (CD)? Thanks for the help, sorry for all the questions.
Edit:
I forgot to ask, what are some uses of the small jump?
Ok, here are the combos you want to use with Mary. If you are trying to punish something that has alot of recovery, you should use:
D, f+B, charge back f+B, super cancel to qcf hcb+P
D, f+B together do alot more damage than C, f+A. However, D is very slow, so you only want to use this combo for punishing. Otherwise, stick to C(1 hit), f+B (if they are very close, otherwise it whiffs), then to the charge back moves into super. There are stronger combos of course, but they involve maxmode activation mid-combo, and aren’t recommended unless you’re more experienced in the game and good at combos.
Her qcb+P makes her invincible for a brief period of time. If you see someone jump, you could do qcb+P (to make the jumpin miss), then qcf+P (which grabs them as they come down). YOu can use qcb+B (the anti-air counter), however, only if you see them do an attack when they jump. Otherwise, they could empty jump and just combo you when your counter whiffs. And yes, spamming crouch Bx3 into far B is good stuff.
The CD attack is high priority and meaty. If the player is intelligent, they will block it on wakeup. YOu can do mixups with this. For example, sometimes do the CD on wakeup, sometimes do nothing on wakeup and instead do qcb+P into qcf+P throw, sometimes just do crouch Bx3 into far B on wakeup, or you can do a CD whiff and cancel it into qcb+P. If the opponent has good reaction speed, they will see the CD and most likely block. However, since you are whiffing it adn cancelling to qcb+P, you can throw them and they will likely not suspect that.
The use of the small jump is obvious - less risk when jumping, and pressures opponent alot better. However, I myself think that jumping is retarded unless you’re jumping over a move someone threw out. Most people I fight just jump in and pray they the opponent cannot react to it. All jumpins for the most part, are counterable (yes, even Chris jump CD, being beaten cleanly by Kyo dp+C). Throwing out some move(in this case, a jump) and hoping the opponent cannot counter it, is a risky and unreliable fighting style, and would get you killed in the arcade if anyone has atleast decent reaction. Of course, if you want to win online on kaillera, just jump all day, the delay will screw everyone over.
Thanks for the tips Emil, good stuff.
