Hey there is always a point to dlc! It help keep the game in the public eye, it makes the company money, and I like new characters. Does it need more characters? Of course not. Could dlc be really cool? Hell Yeah!
Agent Team - BMary, Vanessa, Seth
Orochi Team - Yashiro, Shermie, Cris
MoW Team - Rock, Gato, Hokutomaru (so I could finally have a Shiranui Team :D)
Anti Kyokugen: Eiji, Kasumi, Malin
Rival Women Fighters Team: Chizuru, B.Jenet, Li Xaingfei
Where the heck is Ash Team: Elizabeth, DuoLon, Shen
So the fighters generation website posted this news-
“t’s been confirmed that designer & producer Hidetoshi Ishizawa (Neo_G) has departed from Capcom to work for SNK Playmore. Ishizawa’s decorated resume lists a ton of iconic fighting games, including: MVC2, MVC3, CVS2, SF3 series, SFA2 & Darkstalkers. With SNK Playmore planning on reviving other classic franchises after KOF14, it would appear Ishizawa wants to continue his work in the genre. Definitely good news for SNK fans!”
My question is do you all think KOF14 will be enough of a success for SNK to continue making fighting games, and do you think they will be able to revive other classic snk franchises?
I think thats one of the good things about KOF, everyone wants DLC and thinks that companies make it post release but thats not true.
13 had 3 characters and colors that were unlockable as DLC and I think that games was way better than USF4 and so far SFV. So if we are lucky to get a game with 50 characters a story and a color edit mode I wouldnt care if there was one bit of DLC for it
Nah, I wouldn’t say CvS1’s presentation and interface looked cheap. It just looks Y2K af, with everything being white, bright and high-tech so we could set ourselves up for the new millennium… which isn’t a criticism btw. I love that look, it’s just so sweggish, and that robotic voice… it just sounded cool. I’ll admit that CvS1’s select screen is poorly designed. Any scrolling-based character select screen is bad design.
But still, I definitely prefer CvS1’s presentation over CvS2, the latter of which I found to be pretty generic. And that fucking slowass cursor, ugh wtf?
Don’t be stupid. Making a game that ends up being unbalanced doesn’t mean everything you ever touch will be unbalanced. Besides, he’s not even the battle director on this game, he’s a planner. Additionally, being balanced doesn’t mean your game is good or fun.
I still stand behind the notion to keep all the Garou characters out of KoF and save them for a potential sequel. Rock is cool but it would be a much better service to his character to have him lead a roster instead of playing “irrelevant side-character with memorable win animations” like Terry
Athena is one of the least polished and unfinished model we’ve seen from the new characters thus far. She has a bit of the Andy syndrome going on in that she clearly was in a rough draft when being revealed. However excluding her the more complete characters don’t actually look that far from DOA5 character models.
Now that I think about it, if Garou is years after KOF, is KOD really an alter ego Tizoc or is he a completely different person who inherited Tizoc’s moveset?
Ryo rules now the Kyokugen Dojo, if I remember right Kushnood Butt was his student, so maybe the Garou events didn’t happened yet in the KOF universe, this complicates the coming of Rock to the game…
