Between the 2, I think Vice would prefer the suit, and Mature would prefer the dress. Remember, Mature’s treasure is “Her Legs”, so she’d probably like to show them off a lot. Whereas Vice’s attitude, haircut, posture, and vulgar way of speaking all work pretty well with a power suit. Sharing a top design that looks similar, with different bottom designs, seems like it’d be a good way to pay tribute to both their outfit designs.
Don’t mind Mature keeping her XIII playstyle at all, I agree that it was better, and felt more like what she’d do. The Sleeves seem much more a Vice thing than her, and I think giving Vice back her cutting kicks (so they both have the Orochi-style trait of sharp slashes in their movesets) works well enough to give them a connection.
I’m most hype to see Vice’s normals, actually. Want her old Cr.C back rather than the elbow, hoper her Far C is beastly again, and wouldn’t mind some changes on her air game, especially if they don’t give her the aerial cutting-legs.
Choi the most polished? I thought his skin texture and lighting looked beneath the rest, easily. Chin’s hands are nice and bony, Tung’s face is rather well detailed with the wrinkles, etc. Tung and Chin also have better secondary animation of the clothes, though Choi’s tied waist shirt was fine.
Tung’s head looks fine for what he is, which is more monster than proportionate human. I quite like how exaggerated he is, his hands are HUGE.
Chin’s hair is a bit bright, yes, which makes it look plastic-y. But the animation was pretty good from a 2D animating standpoint, which is what this game is emulating more. It moved with his moves, and helped explain the motion of them. It’s not 3D loose like the hair in SFV, but that also means it’s not clipping and flipping constantly. It could get a bit more freedom before release, we’ll see.
I’d like to see at least 1 or Rugals former secretaries in the dress, one in pants. Whichever ends up happening not, I’d love to see as DLC.
Choi and Chin both look longer / more regularly proportioned (which is probably good for Gameplay) and Tung isn’t constantly making joked about how he’s so old and near death (as he seemed to do a lot in his motions in RBS). Yay for new games giving new takes on characters! Feels a bit refreshing, while still keeping with their classic selves.
I didn’t like how I didn’t have a KOF scene in my area, so when I played against Chris G at NCR last year in KOFXIII, I bodied him unless his Mature was out and I didn’t know the match up because lolXIIIMature. It was mainly Despair (qcf+P) cross up shit and ambiguous - or + frames, then him converting off of stuff. I could have beaten him easily if it weren’t for Mature. So in my prejudiced heart, I want to say fuck seeing her KOFXIII move set. Ideally, I want to see a combination of her 2002um and XIII move set. Mainly, I just want her projectile to be better like of old and make her j.B, j.C and j.CD what it used to be in utility. I also want to see 96 st.CD come back, which is the current st.CD she had in games like 98/02/XIII, but it came out super fast like a Vice j.CD.
As for Vice, I just want 98/98um Vice to come back. She can keep her new dp+P move, but her tick throw and oki game was weak without her hcf+P > qcf+P command throw and her normals weren’t as good overall. Sure, she could j.CD or st.A into anywhere juggle BS, but it’s not as good or as fun as having a solid cr.C, far reaching and fast Far B, air-to-airing with lightning legs into shoulder juggle into hard knockdown into oki, and among the other stuff she was missing.
I do agree that I want to see Vice in a suit but Mature in a formal dress. That is the dream.
For Chin, I’m okay with his XIII move set for XIV since at least he won’t be able to lolYolo EX stuff into drive cancel conversions, he’ll still be strong but for different reasons now. I’d still want to see his old dd+P and dd+K stances (mainly dd+K) to come back even if they have to change the motion. That and his hump the face mash throw. I guess I also want to see his old double hit j.C which could also instant overhead.
Graphically I think the game is shaping up to be really good. Initially I complained about the plastic textures but looking at the last teaser trailer and seeing the progress with Leona, kula and Chang it’s clear the plastic looking skin and hair is not what the characters will eventually look like. It makes me wonder at what stage in development these characters are in terms of completion.
Usually in fighting games, female characters are made to have a young and “pure” feel to them, which is why almost all if not all of them are 29/29- and aren’t said to be in a relationship.
If She is going to be in an open relationship with another man, and married at that, then hat and Kim’s Master be older then him (meaning his wife shouldn’t be very far from his age) should indicate how old She will turn out.
