KOF XIV General Discussion - King of Fighters XIV Arcade Ver. Burn 2 Fight cabinets from Taito!

Robert is looking much better now, eh

Robert looks a lot better. The fabric and skin tones have really improved. If they can keep this up the game will look really good by the time it’s released. I’m curious about something though, why would hey show incomplete characters along side more complete characters. It’s giving the graphical presentation a very inconsistent look.

does that giant work in progress in the bottom mean nothing to you?

Sorry for the OT but there is a ā€œignore userā€ option in this forum ?

No reason to block me man I’m just asking a question.

Game creators are people too. Impressions from the public can change things, and, optimization and finalization happens late in a development cycle.

Look back at old game magazines, and you can find stages in screenshots that never made it to the final games. Press and early release demos sometimes have models or dialog that’s never spoken or seen in the full game. People release ā€œtarget rendersā€ all the time before having final code too, or even trailers made of concepts. Look at how the Dark Souls 2 game changed from it’s first gameplay, and the final release game (which had numerous graphic downgrades.) Tekken 7 used models ripped from Tekken Tag 2 and T6 in their previews for the game, and have been improving things like lighting and textures as time went on.

Just because a model is missing texture detail, that doesn’t keep us from watching their moves, or hearing the voice actor’s work, right?

like KOFXII trailer with unfinished graphics, sprites and stages

the jungle stage go directly on KOFXIII

I think we’ll definitely see Kim and a member of the Psycho soldiers team, as we have yet to see any representatives of either team. And as I’ve said before I really want to see Choi and Vice asap

I’ve never played the game but I don’t think I like it based on the fact that it looks more like MvC than KoF(and I hate MvC). I generally don’t like the tag mechanic in KoF games(same goes for strikers) and I just don’t have fun watching the game.

Also, please no Momoko, she seems like poison(though in all honesty I hate most little girls in fighting games, so I’m super biased)

Robert needs a bigger nose :x

also Momoko is shit, she barely even does Capoeria… she just spins around a bunch and barks like a moe dog. dude do you only care about characters you can jack off to???

Love heart, mui mui, nakoruru, alice, athena, kula, and potentially acting girl in mask, teenage girl singer with electric element, and pretty latin girl

All possibly catering to the needs of people that want to use cute teen girls, even though yeah some of them might not be technically teens they are catered to and catered to well in this game

Yeah if you want a capo fighter then that’s a legit reason to want momoko.

I dunno i think XI is leagues ahead of 2003, yeah it has it’s problems and alot of them but it’s still pretty fun to play, i find 2003 just to be unplayable, i tried playing recently man the controls are terrible i’m talking 96 horrible, my execution is pretty good and i struggled

Go to his profile, click on the button beside the message button, then click ā€œIgnoreā€ from the drop down.

More or less true, yeah. Though KoF is normally pretty good about not overwriting an old character entirely with a new one.

Momoko and Hinako aren’t my favorite designs (Hinako grew on me a bit, at least), but it feels really weird to see a character like her or Oswald only appear for one game.

I agree with XI being leagues better than 2003. I’d gladly buy a re-release of XI with online play… I’d probably ignore 2003 unless it was entirely remade, and who’d waste time on that?

I’m thinking that the ā€œacting girl in maskā€ will likely swing more towards badass than cute considering that she’s in the hero team.

I’m hoping she’s rather mature, personally. Even if ā€œKim’s Master’s Wifeā€ is younger, I hope she’s more Vanessa-ish at youngest, with a strong motherly personality. Such a thing would match up well with Kim’s overbearing passion for justice.

Vanessa is in her 30s. She’s already a hunchback old lady by Japanese standards.

Yeah, I understand that, but that doesn’t mean this wife character couldn’t be equal or older. It’s more likely this series will have some atypical characters than almost any other fighter series out there, due to the fact they already HAVE a lot of the predictable slots filled with someone.

I hope kims masters wife or whoever it is, is slightly older, 40’s or 50’s it’s not something we see to often in fighting games.
In fact off the top of my head i cannot remember we last had a female character over the age of 35

I think so to d3v, or at least i hope so

Lol at people thinking that the only reason you could like a cute girl character is to jack off to them.

Idk why people feel the need to use the same BS argument as an excuse for hating on a certain female character and disagreeing with those that like them.

I (as do others) like Momoko because while she is adorable, she is also fun to play as and is the only Caporiera user. Also her fighting style is unique.

Also she’s only been in 1 game, and a game that’s over a decade old at that. I’d very much hope to see her make a come back soon.

She could be 100 years old still will look young about 20ish, Japan hates old hags for some reason.
