Okay I’m registered for Norcal Regionals. Hope to see everyone there. I just mainly want to play a lot of casuals since I hardly play KOF XIII against people.
speaking of ex kyo, i thought he was supposed to be $2.99 on psn because his release was delayed. it’s showing up as $4.99 on the north american store. when did they raise the price? i couldn’t really play the game until the patch came out.
A couple of friends and i just signed up for NCR. I can’t wait to play everyone who’s going!
IIRC he was only 2.99 for a short period of time during January.
Wow, congratz SNK.
If you’re on the East Coast and you DON’T go, you’re dumb. Most of the West Coast players can’t go because they can’t afford to go to Final Round and MLG. They’ll likely go to NCR. It’s a good chance for East Coast to flood in and get that money, as well as pump up the tournament scene for it.
Not a curse, this is a blessing. Lets get this rolling!
I hope Atlus/SNK doesn’t stop supporting community ran events.
I got 17th in KOF.
I wish I could have played Answer(I was really itching to play him) and Dark Geese, but whatever,
Good Games to everyone who came out and supported KOF13. Much love. Keep it comin’
Imo Clark needs nerf ASAP, definitely S+ due to safe jump setups, air throw and Ungrabable command grab. He’s like Makoto from 3s, guess wrong 3 times = GG.
I got eliminated fairly early on. 65th place, ugh. New tournament lesson learned: Don’t touch the NOS, no matter how free it is. Crashed pretty hard after my first couple of fights. At least I managed to OCV a dude twice in a row with Clark before that crash.
Also learned that Kensou’s Command Grab SDM doesn’t beat Clark’s delayed Argentina Backbreaker. I thought any grab would beat that move, but I guess Kensou’s is just an unblockable strike rather than a grab?
By my last match, I was making a lot of dumb-ass mistakes. Random shoryus for no reason, trying to use Kensou’s Command Grab to beat Clark’s twice in the same match, and other random crap that I honestly can’t account for. I feel pretty confident in my Clark, but I really need to diversify strategies with my remaining characters.
After seeing how many folks from NC place so highly in this tournament, at least I know where I should be training.
Nah, getting command grabbed by Clark doesn’t cause much damage, it’s only his EX grab into the EX DM cancel (which costs hella meter), or maybe an ambiguous roll HD confirm that really hurt. That’s no Makoto, especially since you can backdash out of a lot of his setups or even alternate guard to avoid tickthrows, and his armored throw can be escaped if you’re looking out for it. Sounds like you’re just having trouble dealing with his standard grappler oki game that he always has, though in XIII it isn’t as damaging as it usually is.
He can’t be grabbed when he’s doing the armored SAB. Your best bet with Kensou would be to cancel into his DP or into the B+D backflip to get out of there. Test out both options and see which leads to a better punish.
Ah, I see. I thought I used Claw Iori’s Command Grab to beat Clark’s, but I guess I used it before the SAB was active. Or something. It’s strange, I know I’ve punished Clark’s SAB with C.Iori’s Grab before. Oh well.
Either Iori can hitconfirm the super armor and cancel into their EX command grab to beat the delayed SAB, but that’s only because their EX command grabs are throw-invuln on startup while the throws are so slow that they become active after Clark’s SAB attempt whiffs. So basically, really slow and throw-invuln command grabs can beat Clark’s delay grab, but at any rate he can’t be thrown until his grab becomes active.
Kensou’s comes out immediately, so it’s a no-go.
TBH, I don’t really know the Clark matchup at all. Out of the 200 or so matches I played over the weekend(and the 800 or so on XBL) in casuals, only about 20 matches were against him. I got lamed by Athena, I think that is what is really eating at me. No matter how I timed my jumps, I got DP’d, I switched to Shen. Majin went to order select and I thought he would put clark first(Clark/Shen feels like 6-4 in Clark’s fav), so I put ex Iori on point. I played as much lame as I could before I couldnt take it anymore, and decided to try and go in. Every time I had him in the corner, he either teleported or SJ then Blowbacked me. Athena’s jump arc and her blowback are good. I was so close to top 16 man, and I feel like I choked on stream for the 4th time in my tourney history in KOF. I am now 0-4 on stream and I never lost Offstream. sighs
You could’ve just asked : )
I kinda did Saturday night. I asked Dark Geese if you guys were playing in a hotel that night, but he said you guys didn’t eat yet. I guess I shoulda got his number and just told me to hit me up when you guys were playing.
Lol
