But so far i haven’t heard any official version if they are going to update the arcade version, maybe in the future if the game goes well.
I’m with you on this. Takuma is already a beast. I seriously doubt Mr Karate will be able to beat Takuma’s damage and I think Takuma has the better options right now. I’ll definitely try Mr Karate out but I’m not sure of any reason to have him replace Takuma on my team yet for the reasons you already listed. Who knows though, we’ll have to wait until he comes out to know for sure.

EX Iori* (He just has great well rounded tools)*, XIII Kyo, Robert, Terry, Yuri, Andy, there’s many more thats just a few.
Kyo and EX Iori are basic, well-rounded characters. Daimon is a traditional KOF grappler-type character. Other easy characters to pick up include Vice, K’, Athena, Kula, Yuri, Robert, and King.
I’d say Athena’s easy to pick up.
Not many hard combos (unless you fancy), basic tools (fireball, uppercut, command grab).
Well, I finally made it to the 34th battle of survival mode. It was against Boss Saiki. I lost, of course. This of course also means that even if I had won, the 35th battle would have been against Dark Ash.

I tried that before, didn’t work.
It got me to around 25, but by that point, the CPU realized that all it had to do was a standing jab and it would knock me out of the move.
Tried Daimon as well with his earthquake move, it also wasn’t able to carry me to the bosses.
Thing that pisses me off most of all is that he really just cheezed the fuck outta me. He had a full stock of 5 bars, and just chipped me to death by doing his “Return to Nothingness - Remix” over and over again.

Curious to know if any other characters have an IOH that can lead to a full combo off the HD cancel dash, I was thinking Athena but EDIT then I went to the lab and realised she has no IOH. I’ve only dabbled with ~8 characters so far but I imagine someone other than Leona can take advantage of this.
Considering all normals become special cancellable in HD there should be something.
Wish Heidern was in, I liked doing survival mode with him since he has moves that give him back Stamina.

The AI has some serious flaws you can exploit. They never seem to block low for more than 1 or 2 attacks. Like I used ex kyo and got to 50+. Just do a jump in… into 2b 2b 2b and once you see it hit, go for a combo into a knockdown. Jump in and repeat on their wakeup.
This tactic doesn’t work on the red naked man that well, so for him just make sure you have a fulldrive and 2 meter to take off 80 percent of his life when you hit him. Dark Ash same shitty ai you can abuse.
Things I need to do:
- learn high damaging bnbs and drive cancels outside of trial mode.
- learn improvised combos when I can’t do my most damaging ones.
- Utilize my character’s normals outside of combos.
- Practice HD Canceling without the use of macros.
- Ultilize my character’s walk speed. Can’t do throws if I’m always running.
- Develop character specific strategies other than: Hyper Hop > hit confirm > combo
Things I need to stop doing:
- Mashing sweep when I drop a combo.
- Hyper Hopping constantly, fishing for a hit.
- jumping away from someone jumping in at me.
- Getting anxious when I land a hit and attempt a combo.
- Being so predictable.
