Thanks for the info and could that be put in the first post with ATTENTION around it hahah!
vcoolwater, stop posting. Unless you got something reasonable to talk about, stop.
There really isn’t a downside to hitting that charged c+d, it looks like on hit, it gives you a crumple stun and on block it breaks your gaurd.
Oh and 2 questions:
-
Any chance for a meaty c+d on wake up? Lets say from any of his specials (HHS, SAB) or the airthrow.
-
I know team mechanics are different in this game since tag is gone but, who do you suggest I use with Clark in this one? I am liking Kim, Duo, Iori for teammates. I see Clark is alright at best so what characters would be a good counter balance for his flaws? This whole process kind of reminds me of playing cvs2, you picked characters you liked but would could have a anchor just in case
I don’t really know much but that sounds like a good idea , someone will need to try that! I wonder if it can be countered though?
Yea i hear ya man, I’m choosing lori as one of my other team members, not because he is high tier, but because i really like his character design and fighting style. chances are I’m gonna choose another command grappler for my team so I’ll have to decide between raiden and daimon (slightly leaning towards diamon). however this could change as I feel around with more characters.
HHS = vulcan punch? I don’t think there’s enough time to fully charge a CD on their wakeup off any of his moves unfortunately. They get up too fast after SAB and airthrow so they have plenty of time to hit you first… you can release the CD earlier if you think that’ll happen but of course it won’t be the guardcrush version.
With the vulcan punch, if you combo into that in the corner, I believe they can recovery roll and throw off the charged CD timing. The weird thing about his vulcan punch is that it launches them into the air, but you can only juggle with more hits of the vulcan punch. I tried juggling a standing D or a crouching C after a vulcan punch that knocked them into the air and it whiffed. If he could actually juggle a normal attack he’d be able to chain that into a fairly meaty guardbreak CD… but alas.
Well, the thing about CvS2 is the ratio system, everyone made their last character their R2 so they’d do slightly more damage and take slightly less, so they’d want their best character at the end (or the one who could do damage the easiest). The other thing about CvS2 was the different grooves. You’d have characters like Sakura and Bison that excelled in A-Groove, you could probably do “ok” with them in another groove but everyone agreed they were best in A.
In KOF XII I’m not so sure team dynamics is a very important thing. You don’t even really have to worry about always starting characters first as a “battery”, since you can only build one level of meter and it happens relatively quick (although there are of course going to be characters that are way less dangerous when they don’t have meter). So I would say play whoever you feel like playing, with the relatively balanced feel of the game you don’t have to worry as much about picking “bad” teams.
hey guys i asked this in the general thread but noone really explained… can clark do this combo?
cr.C, C+D xx hop xx airthrow…? if so that be cool…
and i don’t know why everyone is complaining so much… i mean sure this isn’t '01 Clark with 2 strikers …or '97 Clark who could whore SAB, DMs & other grabs… but he still looks decent… i’m still gonna main him…
Wow. I wish I encountered this site earlier before practicing Clark for the past month w/ KOF 2002.
I’m learning lots of stuff from you guys, but mostly it has made me sad coz he’s not even average tier. Guess I’ll move on to Daimon.
why? who the fuck cares about tiers? Goro has ALWAYS been better than Clark in every kof… but what does that have to do with if u r gonna use him or not? if u like a character and his style then use him… if u get urself good enough then u shouldn’t have anything to worry about… a pro player can pick any character and make him good…
I’m really worried about a few of the changes they made with Clark for KoF XII. I still have high hopes, but both the topics on CX and here are not boding well.
It’s funny, with all of these impressions of people thinking Clark looking unplayable or some shit like that, it makes me more interested to pick him up and try him. He’s not as good as his other versions, but he’s still playable. Someone will prove it.
I will prove it :badboy:
just kidding but anyway, has anybody tried that combo the teh Masteroth has posted
cr.C, C+D xx hop xx airthrow this one, I would like to know if its possible
@t3h mAsTarOth…!
Well I’m not the best player out there, and only been playing with KOF for the past month. So me getting familiar THE WHOLE MONTH with Clark just to be trashed on KOF XII is really not that hot. But time will tell though, or rather, once the game actually gets released.
how good is clark’s jumping C+D in this one? in 2002 UM, its pretty fuckin amazing.
Guys, seriously ignore people who are in here just commenting how bad clark is. This shit is stupid at this point.
People on CyberFanatix actually talk strats?
From what I’ve seen in vids, it looks pretty good. I have’nt seen a vid where it lost out in the air against anything really (not like there is SO much video footage going around but, still). It looks, though, as if its at a more horizontal angle in this one vs a more diagonal one in previous kof’s.
try to do the air throw AFTER the vulcan punches. jump attack, normal, vp, jump throw. corner combo ofcourse.

check out the combo in 0:32 ending with the air grab. I posted this because it looks like the air grab is very versatile, I wonder how many combos can end with it :wow:
wow, was that a c.C, C+D, tick, air throw? lol unfortunately that ryo was on his game and playing solid. maybe if clark just footsies abit more with c.C pokes? i dunno, seems like that clark got abit over whelmed without opportunities to counter grab. can’t wait for this game, another month… *sigh
one thing ill give props to the Dandy J Yokohama vids is that Clark is almost in every vid. I see glimmers of potental but he always never seems to win his match up. Oh well, I’m starting to end up rooting for him for the one vid where he wins his match up lol.
you know in those yokohono vids the clark players don’t seem that good, the video I posted in the video thread has a great clark player but he didn’t seem to use that air grab combo (maybe its only corner?)
i’m not gonna lie guys. clark and ralph are my favorite kof guys but in this new one, everything about them is too different for me. especially how big they are now. kinda scares me… if they butcher this game. i’ll continue to just play kof 2002 um.
