I need some help with challenge 39. I really suck at QS comboing on the PS2. Does anyone know of any simple 3 person QS combos?

s.C XX df+C XX qcfx2+K (Quick Shift on 2nd hit to Eiji), j.D, close D(2 hit) XX qcb+P SC qcf,hcb+K (Quick Shift anywhere before the final slash to Gato), j.D, close C, LDM, win.

EDIT: And what also helped was some reassigning the left shoulders to be tag outs. It’s a lot easier than trying to hit it natural on a PS2 pad, for sure.

i think she has a lot of potential. using her as an LDM is a must, the LDM will make the opponent think twice before doing anything.
-she has a lot of links. c.lk links into c.lp. c.lp links into f+lk or f+lp. f+lk links into f+lp. either the first or second hit of her close hp also links into f+lk or f+lp
-qcf+p is safe, fast and good for pressure. qcf+lp combos off her c.lp and c.hk into qcf+p is pretty good for pressure
-dp+lp is fairly safe on block and immune to high attacks. if your opponent save shift against a comboed in dp+lp, their incoming character will still get hit by her uppercut most of the time. and from there, it easily combos into her rush super
-in the order of the best to worst air to air moves: j.e, j.hp, j.hk.
-j.lk is a good jump in and sets up a lot of stuff.
- into throw super. this works like cvs1 vice
- sweep into fireball.
- close hp into f+lk into dp+lp
- c.lk, c.lp, (f+lk) into dp+a. the f+lk is optional and you can substitude the c.lk with c.lp. you can also substitude the dp+a into fireball
-her c.lp is one of the fastest c.lps in the game
-most of you might know already but save shift wont hit her out of her ldm. (ex, c.lp, c.lp ldm. opponent decides to ss before the ldm hits, their incoming character will get hit by it)

i had a wtf moment i wanted to ask about,
I was play my cousine yesterday on the ps2 version, he had Iori i had Gato. I went to hit him with a cr. D, and before the animation started he did Iori’s qcfx2 + P DM. It came out but i just swept him and the shit didn’t hit me out all…can someone tell me why so that I may abuse this more and more in my life.
before claiming an infinite please check if it works on arcade (the standard we all must use) or if it’s chara dependant…
in that vid seems that the dummy is whip…maybe works only on her? (kof isn’t new to a single chara jugglefest)

Here is some Vanessa stuff for you… Part I of III
For starts…
Here are her safest moves…
HCF+P (mash p rapidly) and charge back 2 seconds, forward punch…those moves if blocked give you frame advantage…
Keep that in mind when playing Vanessa…she is a very complex character.
Okay now lets break down into playing Vanessa…
On the ground:
Here are the things you can do…learn these first…
Basics…
A. Overhead attack- forward+a- a 2 hitter that is an overhead…
B. E button- Classic CD attack from other games…knocks character down. Can be kara canceled into teleport or specials…not normals like her overhead.
- qcb+p=punch weaving- this move has upwards invulnerability but is subject to all lows. It gieves you some frame advantage if it is canceld from an attack!!!
2.qcb+P…hold A/C, then press other punch button…
This makes Vanessa do a uppercut punch launcher out of her punch weaver stance.
qcb+p stance.
- qcb+pxxback/forward+kick…makes Vanessa go from Punch Weaving to Teleport backwards/forwards.
This is useful because it enables you to get out of the punch weaving quickly. Master this tactic and it will go a ways for the rest of the stuff…next.
qcb/qcf+k=Teleport- Vanessa is still vulnerable to lows (like a boxer should be) during this attack but is used for rushdown/fast play Vanessa…how she should be played.
Now take what I tought you from the last thing…and then apply it here…
A. qcb/qcf+kxxforward+punch (a or C) Vanessa will go from her teleport to a rushing punch…a version blocked is relatively safe…A and C versions are differebt moves.
B.qcb/qcf+kxxback+punch- Vanessa goes from her teleport to her Puncher Weaving stance.
Master this loop with Vanessa…
Teleportxxpunch weavingxxteleport…rinse and repeat…master it…
Still with me?? Okay now let’s get to some bnb combos for Vanessa…
- Close St. C,forward+a (one hit) hcf+p (mash like Marvel!!!) You can also substitute this hcf+p with any of her supers.
- Far St. Cxxcharge back 2 secs…forward punch…juggle with Jump/Hyper Hop C/D. Can substitute her close qcf+p super in corner after the charge punch launches.
This is some starter Vanessa stuff…Pm me back when you get this stuff down/understand it and I will send you the Vanessa part 2 stuff.

Side notes/edits from part I
**Check that qcb+pxxuppercut move…it should be qcb+P…hold the same punch button…then press FORWARD+and ther other punch button.
** A good normal to use sparingly is her df+b slide…it’s decent.
**Here are all of Vanessas Karacancels(they all have different timings learn them all):
A. E button (CD attack in all other KOFS except 2k3 it doesnt exist)
B. Far st. C (Many people Kara it into backwards teleport)
C. Cr.D
Here are some setups with Vanessa/match vid things that expert Vanessa’s do that I will share with you:
- After a blocked hcf+p “Boogie Woogie Punches” they teleport backwards…because they are safe afer the punches…
Now from a blocked hcf+P there are a couple of things you can do…lets look at them… A very complex flow chart:
A. Teleport backwards by itself to escape or into:1. Cr.D sweep and then go into teleport forwards/backwards and either rinse or repeat this loop or mix it up.

Her punch weaving which follows into her punch weaving things like the uppercut punch or into another forward teleport or the Loop I listed in Part I.

E Attack and teleport/forwards or backwards if it hits into either #1 or #2 options and loop with that.

Cr. bxxforward+a(one hit)xxhcf+p boogie woogie punches and go from this into any of the above/below options. This gives Vanessa a good low option combo.

Cr. bxxforward +axxqcb+p (puncher weaving) (one hit) All Blocked… from this you have frame advantage if you perfect this bnb 2000/2001 loop…if this is comboed you can combo a St.Cxxhcf+p combo yet again.

Overhead attack- You can do forward+a by itself and while slow and kinda predictable it keeps them from blocking low/attacking low all the time.

Hyperhop D into combo- Know this…everything in jump motion in KOF and SNK games if your opponent is blocking low is an OVERHEAD…so Hyperhop ANYTHING becomes an overhead!!!

The Denton Crew Guardbreak Loop: After a blocked hcf+p, go straight into either another hcf+p or a forwards teleport to forward+a punch move and then repeat the following: forwards teleportxxforward+a move then throw in a hcf+p every now and then in case they attack. This is a sick loop with Vanessa!!!
Okay this should surely be enough to wrap up Part II with Vanessa.

All right…now here is part III the Finale for Vanessa;
Okay let’s see…let me gather my thoughts for a minute…last I left you with was Vanessa strats/mindgames…
Now we are going to go into XI stuff that Vanessa has that will complete the Vanessa parts…let’s start with her corner infinite combo that can be done in the corner WITHOUT any types of helpers…
In corner- Dp+C launcher, IMMEDIATELY REPEAT AFTER LAUNCH…the last hit of it should relaunch the opponent continuously…building your meter, sending the Judgment indicator on your side…
Now with this you can do certain things off it like combo her close qcf+x2 p super when they are falling instead of continuing the infinite.
Here is some stuff I do with Vanessa for flash only…
In corner…in the middle of an infinite loop…qcfx2 p super…then right as the third punch hits or it goes black…tag in another character to launcher and finish the combo…
The screen stays black even during the combo and makes things look cool!!
Now with Vanessa’s LDM (Or as Leader) here is the finisher for learning Vanessa- Her LDM basically is a way for you to enter 2k2 mode all over again…
You can Dream cancel it and if you look in the command list the second part is the finisher she can do.(I don’t use it)
Here is a bnb combo with Vanessa involving a Dreamcancel into her LDM and an LDM combo… Are you ready?? Master it!!! Requires at least 3 stocks…
St. C/D, f+a(one hit)xxranbu super (qcbhcfp) Dreamcancel in the middle of it to her LDM (qcfx2+E)…then do the following combo while “Activated”-
[St. CxxBoogie Woogies Punches with C (rapidly press until the 4th/5th hit) xx qcf+b teleport] rinse and repeat brackets and you can even finish one more set of the combo for a total of like 39 hits!!! (50-55% damage!)
Now you can tag in in the middle of this stuff too if you wanna get flashy etc…

(EDIT- I have discovered that vanessa’s hcf+C is NOT as safe as it used to be in the older games…so use it with caution but substitute the charge punch in for the mindgames etc.)
Ramon stuff:
This will be a three part series like the Vanessa part…starting small the first time…
Here is a breakdown of some of the things you must know to be successful with Ramon:
- How to cancel his Feint Step (qcb+p) and combo it.
- The differences between the A Feint Step and the C Feint Step…HUGE for high level Ramon play
- The fact that his air E is pretty strong.
- His old school chain combo to supercancel.
- How to play Ramon without leaving yourself open whoring his wall jump specials all the time (know that his wall jump specials are throws and attacks! The throws of course you can’t block!)
Now let’s look at #1 and #2 for this first section:
#1 and #2- You will see a couple of cool looking combos revolving around Ramon’s Feint Step. both #1 and #2 go hand in hand so I am discussing them together.
Doing qcb+A(hold) makes Ramon run back and the moment you release the A button he does a jump kick…you cannot cancel this and there is no difference in how he runs from the C button…as I will go into with #2.
You can use this for this combo right here…
Df+C,df+b/D? (not sure… it’s a linker though)xxqcb+a…this should make Ramon do a flying kick to finish the combo. now this is basic and you can substitute it with his ranbu rush super or his grab super…but there’s more flashier combos…but first let’s look at the C Feint Step or #2…
#2- qcb+C ain’t the same as qcb+A…it doesn’t make him do a jump kick at all…he simply feints!!! This is very useful because it enables you if you are a feint master to keep the rushdown on with Ramon!!!
qcb+C has to be one of his top moves hands down and essential to mastering to playing Ramon at all his strength!!
Let’s look at this combo based off qcb+C:
df+C,df+b/Dxxqcb+C (release C quickly) another df+CxxGrab Super/Ranbu SuperxxDreamcancelxxLDM!!!
Yes thats a combo I would list in my part III but with Ramon it’s different…I’ve got to let you see the importance of his qcb+C right now!!! qcb+C will be ultra important once I hit Part II for the Mindgames and Strats…
#3- Air HH E is very important with Ramon…it has some good priority to stop things but ain’t as insanely good as Clarks HH E/A/D…(why I need to teach you Clark buddy!!!) Use it for Air-2-Air battles!!!
#4 His old school chain to super cancel- This has been around since 2001…
Dp+kx2 (same button)xxd,d+punch finisherxxSuper Canceled Super Grab…which can be DreamCanceled into an LDM.
This whole combo can be started with a simple St.C/D? (I don’t recall which one I am at work now sorry man )
And know that the first hit of his Sobat Chain (the first DP+K) is an overhead so you can use it for good things…and I will expand upon that once I hit Part II.
#5 Kinda self explanatory…just don’ be jumping off walls doing his wall moves all the time or IMO you ain’t playing him the best way he can be played…expert Ramons mix up that stuff with the rushdown wakeup stuff and the qcb+C mixups (as I will get into in Part II))
That concludes Part I!!! Okay here is the probably most important part of Ramon…the mindgames and strats…
Remember how I said qcb+C Feint Step is huge for his mindgames?
Well take a look at some things you can do with Ramon:
Close St. Cxxqcb+C (press C again quickly to cancel) to Grab Super/Ranbu Combo super…this is a good combo I listed earlier and now I am about to expand on it to make a
Ramon “Wakeup Destruction Mindgame” !!!
R U ready??
On Wakeup here are some things you can do…
- The overhead Dp+K to combo from Part I
- A low St.bxxhcb+p grab/qcb+a
- Doing an easy hitconfirmed df+Cxxqcb+Cxxdf+Cxxsuper and if it doesnt connect cancel the second Df+C and you return to neutral frame to not be punisher
- The same from Part III except doing just one rep of the Df+C and then walking up and doing his hcb+p command grab
- A SNK style Command Grab mixup- Why I say this is because in SNK games many of them you can Combo the Command Grabs…creating a serious mixup if you catch it…
Walk up st.bxxCommand Grab (hcb+P) My #2 option…
Or WALK UP COMMAND GRAB ITSELF IF THEY BLOCK!!!
- Use his new command df+a Overhead move and combo that into his Dp+K series combo into super cancel into Dreamcancel into LDm if you have that many supers!!!
BINGO!!! Or if they wanna attack you can block of course!!
There you go…and of course you can HH A/C/D/b into comboing if you want as well!!!
There you go!! part II of Ramon…Now I have to come up with some stuff to finish with Part III!!! Because I think I have hit everything thus far!!!
