Yeah it requires great timing…but I’ve seen some people get it down pat at FRX…and it was almost like a parry…like Kaedes qcb+C in NGBC but if you all dont know anything about that you won’t understand what I am talking about.
Yeah it aint easy but its something to work on when you wanna take your K’ to the next level.
My K’ is pretty good and I wouldn’t say that it’s something that you should work on because I wouldn’t use it, it’s too risky imo. It’d be silly to prefer it over dp A, it can only be used in very specific situations and in those situations I already know that I have to use it.
Hm, K’s Anti-air? I’d say that when I use my K’, I use DP+C or Iron trigger into f+D. I use dp+c mostly though because everyone hates the startup invincibility that I get out of it, and sometimes Iron trigger because you can follow up with a minute spike. The iron trigger is only for enemies that are trying to cross you up though, like Gato with you in the corner.
Dark Geese, analyze things from the point of view of what’s better, not always when you hear others say that something is good it has to be true. Look, dp C trades hits, is ten times more risky, and doesn’t even do all it’s hits when it hits the opponent in the air. But that wouldn’t be everything, IT’S SLOWER, you think you’d hit in reaction a Malin or a Gato short jumping at you? Without mentioning the high risk that is to bet your K’ like that. K’s Dp C isn’t like Kula’s Dp C.
Of course, but I know its invincibility frames that I have seen esp with Beast of Fires K’ (NEC7) and others at FRX have opened my eyes to the possibility that DP+C aint as bad as I thought it was…
I know the DP+C is slower…but it does have some uses…that is all I am saying…I am one to use everything in my arsenal…I NEVER limit myself to just one option…
And thats really where I am going with this…dont just limit yourself to Dp+A…discover other things and how they can work for you…hell I at times use a simple st. a jab/st.b to stop hyperhoppers…thats what I am talking about…if you know how to play the game you can make almost anything work for you as an Anti-Air.
Well as I had said I use it in very specific situations, but when those situations present themselves, it’s obvious that I have to use it, I know it by instinct, but the anti air that you use all the time should be dp A. It’s rare to use Dp C. What you are saying is to use it most of the time as your anti air. And if you noticed in one of my previous posts, I mentioned Stand A, Stand B, and more importantly, jump B, which is actually his most important anti air, believe it or not. I use it a lot because my opponents always use characters that have good priority in the air and they love to hop, I stop every single short jump of those high priority Es Cs and Ds with jump B, the reason why it always beats those attacks is because it comes out faster than them, and having the same priority, you are safe. I mix it with Stand A and Stand B that stops jumps in the beginning when they just jumped.
Depends really I haven’t played XI against any decent comp in long time but the only times I ever used dp+C was as a wake up (but this is risky against fake HH). Dp+A was the main choice of AA for me against comp. DG if you got any vids of K’s from FRX I’d like to see them :).
I hear quite a bit about BoF’s K’ but no recorded material
I’m gonna try all of the above the next time I play.
I’m often playing my pal S.I.N.
He really knows how to pressure and take advantage of HH’s
He plays Mary/Yuri/Iori (L)
His yuri is crap, but his Iori is good, and his Mary is godlike.
He prefers not to use LDM’s, and play’s a mix of rushdown + pure strategy from playing so many different ppl.
I tend to use K’/Kensou(or Van)/Ben(or Terry) as leader
I play a 25% turtle, 74% pure instinct, and 1% srubbyness
The best leader would be Oswald because you can use his leader super to punish many things that seem safe, like Oswald himself’s chains of special moves that leave him “safe” normally (qcb a, qcf a qcf a…), but if you trust that your Gato can rushdown and begin combos easily go for him as leader. I that put Oswald as leader when Malin isn’t put Oswald in second, so put Gato first, Oswald second, and Iori third. If you land a hit with Gato do stand C qcf C and quick shift to Oswald, do entering C, stand C, fwd A, qcb A, Qcf B, wait until the other passes over you, qcb A, and super cancel with the leader super.
