If he’s getting rushed down, it can be baited hardcore, just like any super. They’re probably not going to do something unsafe unless they don’t know better, so relying on the LDM to fend off rushdown isn’t really any better than relying on genocide cutter. It’s only real bonus is extra damage and corner shenanigans on incoming characters (IE a 50/50). Regardless, he’s still quite viable without LDM.
Also, I’m not sure shifting to him during a juggle and using df.A would really work unless it’s in the corner and the opponent is knocked particularly high. That move seriously takes FOREVER to come out.
Agreed on Genocide Cutter, though. Use Kaiser Wave in corner combos and God Press/HK Reppuken everywhere else.
Beast of Fire didn’t enter KOFXI at Final Round. He did enter at NEC, but we failed miserably in recording the tournament.
And to take it back a couple posts, Gato Leader is the best character in the game, period. No other character even comes close IMO. Certain characters can fight him okay, namely Clark and Kensou, but really once he’s controlling the match it’s all over. Also, meter doesn’t matter - he builds faster than anyone and if someone is on him he can always wakeup A super - very few things can punish if blocked, beats a lot, and on trade he recovers while the opponent floats in the hit animation. If his LDM is blocked and counter rolled, he recovers in time to turn around and damn near punish the counter roll. He’s too good. :bgrin:
So is he going to put ALL of the matches on the DVD?
Because we had a lot of good matches recorded that WEREN’T Top 8. It would be shame to just throw them away…
What’s the deal with Elisabeth? I am trying to pick her up and she seems really 1 dimensional. Just dp+c -> dp+a -> rush super. Does she have any solid rushdown mixups after a qcf+a knockdown?
Her super is an “always”-juggle move so you can use it to catch people off random anti-air/air-to-air hits. Her hop E is pretty decent.
She has a grab super, so there’s mixup potential right there. She’s ranked fairly low for a reason, though. At least she does a bunch of stun.
Man,I never thought I’d do as good as I did with Eiji today! I just can’t seem to settle on a team right now. Terry(L) is a given, and I’ve been rotating around Clark,Eiji,Iori and Kim so far. Eiji is definitely staying in,but I don’t know about the others. It seems more match-dependent for me. Clark really messes up this dude that I play because he’s not used to him, but Iori also does a great job in stopping his Kyo. OH,well,at least I finally got to grips with Eiji! I’ve wanted to get better as him for a while now!
