eiji has TONS of links. i’ll just spit it out on top of my head:
c.lp into standing hp
standing lp into standing hp
c.lp into c.hp
c.lp into c.hk
all of these are bufferable and all of his specials are safe except the qcb+p one from point blank.
the spirit blast only knocks them to the wall off a counter hit and its easily followed up by his lp fireball super.
what do you mean by eiji lacking overall style? the same can be said about kula. theres more to eiji than just spirit blasting all day.
the only bad matchup he has is vs gato which is not saying much since he, kula and maybe clark are the only characters that can take on gato.
his jumping lk has a fat ass hitbox and crosses up ambiguously. his jumping e and jumping hk beats out nearly everything in the air despite it looking slow and laggy. standing e is a fast high priority attack that beats out a lot of stuff it shouldnt beat out.
oswald is the king of BS with ambiguous j.hp, d/f+lp unblockable vs incoming characters, 50% ACE combos w/ no meter, joker setups and high stun combos. nevertheless, he still has to get in to win and has problems getting rushed down.
jenet is annoying as hell but her hyper hops are a bit lacking compared the S and A class characters. she also don’t have a good QS starter and her damage and anti air capabilities are a bit lacking.
hmm, you put up a good point
well, I always thought Eiji was weak, but becuz everytime i’ve played him I was playin my friend at this arcade, so I know nothing of him in essence only becuz I’m stuck playing him in heavy comp, hell I don’t even know how to do his LDM yet
so his sprit blast only bounces enemies on counter hits, I’ve seen my bro bounce them off 2x.
notice that all the combos, links and attacks you mentioned seem to be 2-5 combos, I think Eiji is just an great player gameplay wise, not neccasarely combo wise
Oswald, I have nothing to say
Jenet, my friend kicks my ass w/ jenet, he plays mostly smartass and exposes any mistakes, so I thought she was a good punisher. I haven’t played her so I have no idea how she works
Some1 start playing Kensou, then tell me if he sux.
I don’t care what no1 says, I think he should be B/low A class tier
air dive punches are ridiculously good. gives tons of frame advantage which lets you followup with whatever.
he has the stupidest fireball in the game. it travels slow, hardly any recovery and has a fat ass hitbox. the only way around his fireball is to super jump over it. low jumps and hyperhops gets eaten cleanly.
Also Pm Kensou ZZ_Jaron, he’s got some good Vanessa infinite setups and I think his combo vid a little ways back into my thread shows some of these things.
U are definetly wrong u can QS into Ven Infinite in the corner from just about anyone that can launch and can be followed up. Fucking Az has gotten on me many times. Try it first before u say things.
Actually, if you ever manage to land a dp+C in the corner, you can just do another and so on. It’s just not gonna happen all that often though (except for the cases where you stun someone in the corner, in which case, their fucked).
There will be times when they will be stunned mid infinite, and at that point, all it takes is another DP+C to get it started again. Any of the Vanessa players here will tell you the same thing.
EDIT: How can you not know good Vanessa mixups after watching Shin_Kensou’s vid? Most of the vid SHOWS you a ton of great mixups.
EDIT 2: Only certain characters can QS to Vanessa infinite because they have to stay in the air long enough. Ryo’s C Zanretsuken, Gato’s punch super, the Kensou super I posted and Malin’s kick super are some of the more well known QS’able setups. I’m not sure of any others because I only regularly use the Ryo/Kensou setups.
