the only reason i think oswald is in a tier below kula and gato, is only because he needs his LDM to be a complete character. The other two just doesn’t need it. It’s more like bonus damage, while with oswald his LDM is his… i dunno, STYLE? Shrug. Just a thought. Otherwise i rate oswald to be even more annoying than kula from my experiences. Though i have yet to play an awesome kula… shrug just my two cents.

I mean, you come on here saying that you play just for fun and admit that you “aren’t that great”, but get offended if someone calls you on your opinions? Sometimes it really does seem like you just like to cause trouble and get into arguments.
In fact, you are wrong. The list he posted (which I previously posted on Dustloop) is from Tougeki Spirits Volume 3, which came out in July of this year after SBO, not the old list posted in Volume 2, which came out early January of this year. So in fact, his list is more up to date than the one you “modified”.
The list from January goes like this:
1.)Kula, Gato
2.)Oswald, Eiji, Jenet
3.)Ash, Kim, Kyo, Shen, Clark, Ralf
4.)Duck, Benimaru, K’
5.)Everyone else
Now then, there are some pretty key differences between this and the one CD posted. After SBO, they bumped Oswald up to his own tier, just below top 2. Duck got bumped up two tiers and Kim got bumped up one. Gai came out of fucking nowhere to suddenly be in the same tier as those right under the top 3 characters. Ryo came way up in the ranks. Ash fell down a rank, Terry and Maxima came up one. Shen and Benimaru fell off. Vanessa came up too. Silver and Jyazu showed up in the higher ranks as well. Some pretty big differences, even though the overall view of “Kula and Gato are the best” hasn’t changed.
So yeah man, do your research. You can’t say you’re a casual player who only plays for fun and then get yourself into these debates by acting like a know-it-all. If you’re casual, don’t get an attitude when the serious players disagree with you. If you want to be serious, step your game up and get more info. Pick a path and stick with it. Cuz right now, all you’re doing is attracting a lot more negative attention, and you don’t wanna get banned again.
If there was a XI tier list for the ps2 characters where would they fit in to this tier list?
Momoko still is better than Whip…and max out Whip’s potential and you still have nothing on a maxed out Momoko’s potential…
It’s not that I cannot accept the fact that Athena blows AF, its once again I truly believe that every once and a while the tier list needs to be revisted IN GENERAL…

Kim is just a watered down version of his NGBC self…which is why he is pretty good…I could see that a mile away.
I actually don’t think Oswald needs his LDM at this point. Generally speaking he goes 2nd on a team coming off a QS into Ace combo (or stun combo then corner solo Ace combo), then he gets the knockdown (or incoming character) he needs to start his mixup game. His standard B&B already does a bunch for a combo that gives an untechable knockdown + setups, but there are a few key places on the screen where Ozzy can just toast someone for 50-75% of their lifebar off a crossup or c.B without meter.
The LDM rounds him out a bit in terms of where he can do big damage off whatever, but he hardly “needs” it at this point. It makes his pokes a lot scarier, makes him scarier to rush (harder to bait someone to tap A into LDM than it is to bait out the moonslasher super) so it does what a LDM should do, make a character better. Still don’t think Oswald needs it.
In a neutral situation, Gato and Kula are more likely to force the game in their favor. Plus Kula and Gato just have more good moves they can consistently hurt people off of, etc. etc. They are just better at everything than Oswald. Well… maybe Ozzy’s defense is better than Gato’s, but Gato’s rushdown is a lot better than Ozzy’s.
Another way to look at it is this- if Oswald needs his LDM, why did NONE of the Oswald players in the final 8 at SBO play him as their leader?

I have a question about the tier lists. Do they factor in the LDMs? Because some chars could maybe move a tier up or down depending on their LDM, but obviously there’s only one leader in each team.
I think it’s obvious they would factor in everything about a character that would make them worthwhile.

Why, because you were wrong? It has nothing to do with casual or whatever, you could be the most hardcore KoF player of all time and the list you made would still be inaccurate. Don’t be a drama queen. Why not ask about the reasonings for the inconsistencies between the lists? Why not spark some meaningful debate and help everybody learn something?

I play Kyo and Jenet on various teams for fun and would probably be willing to play Kyo in a tournament setting… those two are still fairly popular characters anyhow. I see them pop up in vids more often than quite a few other characters, at least.
