But yeah I agree with you on your opinion about K’ and how he should be played.

Also this agruement about sprites isn’t really worth it.

i was playin around in practice last night and i come to find out who i wanna master in this game…Iori, K’, Janet, momoko, kula, and the one guy that plays like rugal. I wanna know where can i find an english move list for momoko, k’, and kula and also where can i find a combo sheet on them???

What about the REAL SMB2, aka the Japanese version? Looked pretty similar to SMB1 to me! Seriously though, please stop trolling.

By sticking with the same sprites, they can concentrate on other things. Each KOF has different elements then the previous ones. Which is why it can be great one year, but horrible the next, and then back to good again. They try new things with each incarnation. Not to mention it isn’t SNK anymore, but SNK Playmore. Not what they used to be, but not entirely bad. XI is good. It’s fun, and is very different from the previous incarnations, although it does share a lot to. It is king of fighters afterall. No point in sticking with the name if it’ll be entirely different.

Which isn’t to say that I wouldn’t want SNKP to make something entirely different. KOF is good, and there always needs to be new KOFs, but another franchise…or an older one(MOTW please)…would be good to have.

I like B.Jenet being in KOF XI, but I really like hotaru in the ps2 port. Unfortunately, I keep wanting to JD…but nothing =/

seriously he have nothing besides that random autoguard on his far C to deal with incoming pressure strings…
but if you manage to keep your oppo under control = he’s dead

Question for Gai users: Can you do Bridege Sway > Front Step > Command Grab?

Not that I’ve ever been able to do, I can’t do anything of his front step.

The crappy thing about bridge sway into gai spider, is that you can’t like quick buffer the gai spider, you have to wait a second and let the bridge sway animate. I wish it were like K’s qcb+k follow up where you can just do two really fast and it immediately goe sinto the follow up.

Ah well Gai is still pretty decent if you mix it up well, and don’t bridge sway too much.

Now after a blocked qcf+p you are relatively safe…I normally follow up with cr. a etc to snuff out attempts to punish.

Bnb-St.C,f+b,qcf+pxxsuper cancel to any supers etc…

I think the worst thing about shen is if yoru getting rush’d down, by say gato, your really gonna have to use meter to turn the tide, whether that’s skill stock for a switch out or super meter, for counter roll or counter attack, or random super. Shen just doesn’t have the tools to keep people off of him otherwise, which sorta sucks, his roll is pretty quick though which is nice. Luckily on offense he has almost everything he needs to beast, except it’s dumb you have to super cancel to use his command grab. I hate that.

Yes…Anti air for Shen is a major weakness of his…

And he has a command Grab move in 2k3…but alas they have weakened him even more.

Hes a Makoto type with less options…and a worse Anti-air…

mainly in the vids you will see the Shens trying to use all his tricks and gimmicks like dash puch cancel and other thing to try and set things up…

but he gets rushed down horribly in the end…

unless you land a perfectly timed far st.D of command grab super as an AA…even then…

yeah due to low defense options u have to stay on the offense or get raped trying to block and turtle all day long

Shen Woo has to be offensive most of the time. For anti-air, I use crouch C since the uppercut is huge. Does anyone use Shen’s qcb+E or qcf+E? I never found a use for it.

qcf/qcb + E maybe for some slight mix-ups. Qcf + E, do nothing and throw lol I dunno

QCB + E then P catches people running after you, I use it with decent amounts of success. It’s also super - cancellable, so if you hit you can tack on more.

for anti-air against rushdown hoppers, I’ve had some success with using the autoguard on Shen’s Standing C to counter their attack. Of course, it’s anything but reliable, but what else are you going to do?

another problem with Shen is that he doesn’t have many options off a connected low B. You can hit confirm link his qcfx2+K super off a crouching B or two, but if you’re not close enough it’ll whiff. Other than that there’s not much reason to block low against a Shen, getting hit by a crouching D isn’t as bad as getting hit by his overhead qcb+A, qcf+A.

I still find him incredibly fucking fun to play though.
