Kasumi can get in really easily actually HH D or B are amazing and her E is really fast. Plus once your in, no one is going to get you out, her mixup is actually really good. I often don’t finish the hcb,f+p combo with the command grab and instead go for more mixup. Oh and if you ever land that in the corner, you can get a little more damage by doing a st.D into the qcb+b.
Kasumi is easy mid-tier just takes a bit of time. Her supers don’t matter but her regular combos are great i put her as a starter alot.
As for athena, she does suck, but she has crazy LDM, SO MUCH DAMAGE even when you combo into it. yes athena sucks but she does have some good stuff. Such as amazing jumping E, some decent mixup, what she really lacks is a good combo. As a last character though she can do okay just pick two other characters who need no or little meter, and then come in with a fully stocked athena, who if they so much as blink wrong can super there ass, for alot of damage! plus that shit links off of everything, cr.b, cr.C st.C all are hit checkable from the right range into super. Sure she’s bad, but I’d say Hayato (can’t get in ever) or Whip, are both worse.

Anyone use Yuri? I just started using her and shes pretty fun. Not use to her yet but starting to get better with her. Gave Up on Momoko. So any tips for Yuri?
I wouldn’t say that. Standing B with Iori is nice.Hits low, safe, cancelable and can link to standing C. And compared to all of other Whip’s options for combos, standind B is her most flexible.
Anyone see the amount of damage Shingo can do with his qcfx2 + p DM dreamcancel into his LDM? It’s absolutely insane damage.
I’m sure it’s possible with that damage to make a 100% combo pretty easily.
Ralf’s LDM is pretty nice, and I heard it’s unblockable.
Im having a problem with this combo for Oswald I found on the SRK wiki (I can’t access it right now though, somethings wrong with it). Inside that combo I have to do cr.d > f+a > qcf+a but EVERY time the qcf+a turns into dp+a (which is Queen). How can I avoid this? (I’m using a HRAP btw)

And about Athena being the worst, I dunno about that…I have many things I do to separate myself and wreck havoc with Athena. And certainly with her as Leader she can destroy people with ease…
In regards to that Oswald combo, return to neutral before doing the qcf+p move…that will solve your problem.

Nope…I’d say Whip is worse than Athena. Whip’s LDM is worse, and as CDis said, you must play Whip defensive. In 2k2 when she was high tier that didn’t have to be the case. She had more priority, easy good damage combos, SC wizardry, and good reach. She could be played offensively or defensively.
Athena has more than Whip believe me…and the Psycho Ball ain’t useless believe me…now it ain’t as good as Kensou’s, and it aint 2k2 like, but you can still get things done with her.
Leader Athena cannot be worst character certainly…now without yes she suffers but still better than Whip…
you forget she has one of the best jumping E’s in the game, hands down. her wall jump is great. And if your smart about it her psycho ball isn’t that bad. She has some good tricks, and great runaway. A good team would be two people who don’t need super or much super, and then Athena at the end, as long as you come in with the judgement bar at yourside no one is getting close to athena, if they try LDM that shit.
As the last character her runaway can be unstoppable thanks to the teleport, the air ball thing, and her jumping E. People don’t give her enough credit, sure she’s not like her 2k2 or 98 version, but still she’s good you just need to play her differently, and if you want a charater for fireball shit use kensou or something.

strictly battery…leaving her with like 4-5 supers in the end…spelling death if you make ONE mistake.

Athena is more fun to play… 2 backdash tricks, booty bounce air combos and mixups off a blocked booty bounce combo, Air Kara mixups, lockdown, air throw, Cr. CxxC fireball, many other things St. E RF lockdown tricks,
Far St. C zoning, Far St. D,St.E, Karacancel E and Cr. C tricks, she can zone, lockdown, build battery with backdash qcb+k or Tigerknee qcb+b that make her very fun to play with.
Whip is very dull…and ineffective. Even Cr. C with Whip doesn’t work like it used too…See NeoWave…
In NW she retains the Cr. C AA stuff, more invincibility frames on her Sonic Slaughter, HH D goodness and Cross up HH C…but all that has been toned down…
Her bnb St. Dxxf+ax5 has been lost…really leaving her with very little to be effective. She may be the worst character in the game.
