KOF XI Thread :: Ver 2.0

Whew…okay so I got another confirmation from Amazon today. They said they were sorry and that the game shipped and will be here today. After work I’ll check if I get it and post on here, though I doubt Gamestop would have it today. Either way it’s good news, so fingers crossed people.

The Damned…I just wanna see what makes her legit…I aint gonna dismiss anything…

I just wanna see it thats all…I learnt from travelling to different countries to NEVER dismiss something until you have seen it LIVE yourself…

Whips’s A/B normals have been slowed down since KOF 2003 which hurt her a lot, but in KOF XI they made her C/Ds a lot faster but somewhat weaker.

She’s not good, but she still has some stuff. Mainly a good crossup Air C and an LDM with near-instant activation and healthy invincibility.

What makes Whip the worst character imo:

  • her ground stuff is easy to roll and quite unsafe in general with only few exceptions, which makes you resort to jumping around a lot, her jumpins are hard to follow up for damage because of her range issue, strong anti airs = strong anti-Whip
  • her tagout potential is below average, after f A x3 the opponent is pushed away very far, making it harder to follow up than it should be, and the damage done by Whip herself is pitiful
  • stun potential is next to nonexistent, it’s almost always a bad choice to tag Whip in for damage and/or stun

Imo Whip is best played as a battery, as a user or even anchor she becomes a handicap, and her LDM really isn’t worth it (damage scaling hurts it way too bad, and the hitbox/range is too small to make it useful). Her only worthwhile super combo is …

  • (close!) C/c.C (best after a well placed crossup j.C), f A x3 (hope the opponent isn’t sent flying after the third) xx qcf x2 P

I think the damage is lowered depending on how much life the opponent has or something.

I recall Clark’s grab doing good damage, but once I was low on life, it was lowered a lot.

I thought that was just the way the meter was setup in general. Meaning that bar representation isn’t your exact percentage of remaining health. So when the bar is exactly at 50%, that doesn’t mean you have 50% life. You actually have more than that. Kinda of a gradiated percentage. Someone clue me in if I’m wrong on this. Cause I’ve noticed it several times with different characters. Never fully understood it though.

So is that game out here yet? I’m really tempted to just buy the import and call it day.

Well, at least you had the sense to put DL on B tier. Leader or not. XD

In regards to Adel’s LDM, the Rose version has full body invincibility when it travels up to 1/4 screen length, while the other version has upper body up to 1/2 screen length.

Actually DL doesnt need 5 meters for insanity…just 2…but anyways mute point…already been discussed.

when they jump standing “e”

her other shit is standing weak punch, crouching strong punch, fb punch…

u dont use her other attacks on the ground… perhaps crouching strong kick sometimes…

to jump strong kick… what short range… it has a lot and u can combo easily…

she crossups easily and many times…

to quickshift with her switch on the second fwd weak punch

I can understand that, but, honestly, there’s nothing to see with Whip.

Medicore Elizabeth has more potential than Whip has, and even Elizabeth’s huge breasts do not help cushion the blow to my pride when it comes to saying that since Whip is pretty much still one of my favorite character designs (and probably my favorite KOF character design).

Iczer one pretty much said everything I was going to say more competently. Also, it should tell you something that the “showoff” video of Whip is usually the only video I can find of her even being used (and not straight out dying).

She needs to desperately pick up some damn speed from her brother in the next installment.

Actually this guy in Juarez that’s #2 in Juarez in KOFXI named Rodo uses Elizabeth Leader like ALL the time…he’s good with her though…

His team is Iori, Kula, Elizabeth (L).
