KOF XI for PS2: Arcade or Arranged mode

With the exception of the differences noted EX Kyo fits better in this system than in NGBC…the system can make the difference as well…(gains Hyperhops he didnt have in NGBC) safe ass air RED Kicks surely kick ass and that combo Oscar listed is certain death ontop of the big combos he does which in this game mean death…which in comparison in NGBC weren’t as bad…plus new combos centralized around this system and there you go…a better NGBC Kyo…

And the combination of the other characters like Big(sorry defense, slow as hell now, moves come out super slow, less priority) and Hotaru(loses all the touch of death cr. b stuff, which is the basis of her whole game, has less priority, now cannot empty whiff AOP stance up+b/Dxxair qcb+k…so many other things) and Robert(now cannot have two projectiles on the screen at once, is slower as a whole) and Mai(About the same as a whole, but must be leader to do any real damage, hurting her because her best of the two supers is the Shinobi Flame super) sucking in XI makes Geese and Kyo look better because they weren’t toned down but they were made better.

In NGBC though he had more than one bnb…he has more than that combo listed and what BOF listed…I have yet to be able to test more but he really does has a shitload of comboable options/resets for easy damage…

Plus the Genei-Kyo stuff…good shit indeed…

EX Kyo’s midscreen juggles don’t seem as good in XI as they did in NGBC. However, it feels a lot easier to take someone to corner from midscreen with him since the size of the screen is smaller. He also just does more damage in XI, it’s kind of ridiculous how he gets these 60-70% damage juggles with no meter used.

I also feel like he actually has more combos in XI than in NGBC, despite what you are saying Dark Geese. This just comes from having more juggle flexibility, certain moves give juggle state in XI when they didn’t in NGBC. It just feels like SNK tried to make the “ideal” Kyo for the longtime fans.

I think it more has to do with the system helping him have more combos than anything else…which is what you are talking about about the juggling states…

What is it with people who are convinced that SNK intended for Arrange to be the “correct” mode to play? If SNK really wanted people to play the game with those changes, there would have been NO REASON for them not to release a new version of the game in the arcade. This shit is just like the option in Tenka to turn off the OTG stuff; it’s there for the more casual players who don’t want to deal with the so-called “overpowered” stuff. Play it if you want, but don’t act like you’ve got the endorsement of the company.

XI was the last SNKP game that was gonna be released through the atomiswave according to their deal, so they couldnt.

I find it amusing how people say Arrange KOFXI is the version SNKP intended to make LMAO. If that was the case we’d just be playing 2003 again with diffrent characters(Which is what Arrange Mode is anyways)

All I’m saying is that these people defending Arrange need to use concrete examples of game mechanics and gameplay to prove the game is more balanced in Arrange instead of just saying “well SNK obviously wanted us to play this version cuz they put it in!” History shows that game companies rarely know what the fuck they are doing when it comes to making a game more balanced. Saying that Arrange is the version SNK intended is just stupid.

Seriously, if SNK really cared to “balance out” KOF XI, they would have made a fix and replaced all the arcade versions of XI with it. Companies do this all the fucking time. SNK just realizes that it would be easier/lazier to make a “new” game with some of these fixes and other changes, mark it as a totally new game and release it to the public as such. Which is exactly what they are most likely going to do with XII. It’s pretty much what they’ve been doing with KOF for the past 12 years. And if you can’t see THAT, then you really are a “blind motherfucker”.

haha i will definitely play arrange if i can be more consistent with oswald’s unblockable, just that he’ll turn into more of a meter whore than a battery

Oswald’s UB is banned though…learn it just to master it but that’s that…

I do that a lot in the arcades, but if its banned for tourneys in arcade mode, I can definitely accept that :tup:
