KOF: MI2 / KOF 2006 - Strategy / Techniques / Combos

What’s the word on Richard Meyer? I’ve been having a lot of fun just messing around with him in practice mode, seems like he might have some decent combo potential. Anybody hear/see anything regarding him?

Well I was playing this for about 3 hrs just practicing luise (rom) combo and man my thumbs are hurting.
Note you cant breakfall from it, and timing is strict.

New discovery, you can only do 5 reps before you cant do it anymore, after the 10th hit the screen flashes pink and you cant continue the combo, which is gay…but never the less Luise is top tier.Ill make a video showing what I mean later.

it seems like since the earlier video displays combos that only work on Billy
that this game may have combos that are definitely character weight/size specific like VF or Tekken?
maybe you can get more reps of the rom on Billy persay?
however i think that with the general size of the stages in this game it’s more than enough to get someone to the wall and land her super where the beams shoot them upward for massive damage, it seems pretty useful and makes her
a definite candidate for top tier
it’s the same aesthetic as Lilly or Kula’s game actually, if you interrupt someone
with their BnB’s you basically take them to the wall
speaking of Lilly it’s starting to seem like her A-C-C-C string is best, not all of it
combos ( the first jab and the second C don’t combo ) but there is very little frame
delay between the A and C to punish and most times often than not due to the
very small delay to punish you will most likely bait a counter hit if they dont sabaki
upon which she’ll do the string, wait for the hit after she kicks the rod up and catches it then cancel that to DP and you pretty much send them to the wall,
then wall mixup, super, GGPO

I did it on mostly all the characters but not billy, I only choose Maxima because he has a bigger hitbox, but yea Its more than enough reps for you to get in the coner, its usually 4 from the opposite side and 3 from the middle I believe.

Easy Mission 10. Lv 10 I think not sure. Alba takes like no damage his life is like 200% or somethin’. Any recomendations on who to use

the Rom combo works one everyone the same way, 5 reps and thats it.

Cam:Enemy: Alba Meira
Conditions: The opponent starts with 200% Health
The opponent has an infinite Power Gauge
Single hits do no damage
Objective: Defeat the opponent.
Notes: I swear Alba has an “I Win” button. He can launch into a DM
whenever he pleases, and they all have an invincible startup
and more priority than anything you’ve got. On the one hand
you’ve got to stay offensive because you just don’t have time
to play it safe. On the other hand, you have to be aware that
he can take away half your Health meter at a time of his
choosing. And if he’s feeling particularly nasty, he can turn
around and take off the other half. If you can dodge his DMs,
particulraly his Level 3, you can really punish him.

From Gamefaqs.

I used Terry. I just used j.D -> D -> D -> Fire Kick to corner him and when he woke up, I used f.C -> b.C -> Rising Tackle. Rinse and repeat. As scrubby as it is, it only works for a while. After too many times, he’ll start to use DMs alot, with all sorts of invincibility. All you can really do is keep the pressure on and hope he doesn’t DM you. D:

i used Kula and just spammed her BnB mercilessly for meter and comboed into Freeze Execution whenever possible…and just baited anything he did ( he does a LOT of random super ) and punished accordingly

Oh god, that sounds like one of those missions from MI where the opponent has like a gazillion health but you have very little. I’m going to have to do that at one point? =\

It’s more like, everything’s normal for you but your opponent has a shitload of health and infinite supers. D:

MY GOD SPINNY KICK IS SEVERELY BROKENa

the japanese players at Henvoke did find this first, as somebody already stated

why is it like a moving, airborne version of Billy’s spinny stick that he can REPEAT?!?

this fool just went to God Tier with Armour Ralf because of one move!!!

It’s probably the 10-hit combo limit from MI 1. I didn’t know that it also carried over to this game.

Yeah, in MI 1 SNKP was so afraid of easy infinites being discovered they instituted that any combo would automatically discontinue after the 10th hit.
Of course, people still found ways around it with OTG mess and eventually the infinites and broken stuff came out anyway.

A similar phenomenon happens with one of Kyo’s combos that I saw in a video. It’s c.A,c.C, hcb+B, hcb+D (x8), dp+C. As for OTGs, I think the OTG limit is now 5 hits and the last hit will knock them away. Don’t exactly remember if that was the limit in MI1.

you guys are hitting on the very fact that made Seth top tier in MI1

ever notice that his uppercut-steam super doesn’t OTG anymore? guess why?

he used to be able to do OTG cr.lkx3 xx uppercut super(launch), hyperhop D xx C ver. divekick to knock back down into ground string, repeat, and the process would get him meter, which made him god tier

now all he can do is stuff like this, which, granted, still is ridiculous

That’s still pretty sick. Seth was god tier? I thought it was Alba, Iori, and Rock (no particular order). Alba and Rock had really good counters and good high-low mixups and Iori had that really retarded infinite that got you to the wall where he could do whatever he wanted at that point.

Alba was really, really good, ( and still is ) but he’s really good in the same way that Ken is in 3s, Seth was like a mixture of Yun and Chun Li - high damage pokes and great options plus whenever you get meter the other person gets decimated

Iori is decent but the problem with Iori is he’s a meter hog, he has good tools but he has too many problems with the top tier and needs meter to fight them

Rock unfortunately isnt that great in either game, the main issue with Rock is, he would be really really great in MI2 if it werent for the fact that he lost the best thing he had in MI1 - he basically had the ability to Rage Run Shift out of a blocked string and get a free command throw - now you can jump out ( and maybe you could before? ) and/or sabaki, and some characters can just super ( like with Duke’s OMG-I-AM-EXPLODING counter super, or Athena’s Gem Bracelet ) when they see him shift

just curious, do you guys play this game with a joystick or a gamepad? I just bought it tonight, and haven’t tried it with a stick yet.

I’m a pad user and I can play the game just fine. Either one should work fine depending on your preference but in all honesty I don’t think the maneuvers are complex enough to warrant a stick.

Really, I never played MI1 seriously, thanks.

I play Pad because I cant afford a good stick yet.

Rich went to god tier with one move?that sucks.

Hahaha, Hyena is a real funny guy. I want to use him, does he have any good strats, combos, etc.? I heard that he was bottom tier, but I still want to use him.

BTW, has anyone noticed Todo in background of that shrine stage? You can see him in Shinto’s video.
