I thought he was in the background of the Kyokugen Dojo? Along with Marco Rodriguez.
only inf. is clarks, and its not really an inf.
my mistake, it was Kohatsu, not Henvoke
and also it doesnt seem like Richard can just randomly repeat it but doing this move out of any string is pretty much mixup hell because of the difficulty in blocking it and the move having no startup time
Yeah Maxima just beat my ass in story mode (I was messing around with Hyena) and I like his style. What are his strats and combos? Someone mentioned that faking Vapor Cannon is a good idea(?) and that he has a mean juggle after landing his Maxima Lift, but didn’t say the combo. What else is there?
I’m getting the impression from this thread that there are MI 2 match vids that are floating around.
Links please?
Only two pages back…:shake:
Saotome Kaneda has killed over less.
My bad, but thanks!:lovin:
That’s exactly what I’m talking about - Spinny kick seems to just own what little human competition I have around here (which admittedly isn’t that great)
Rich for some reason controls more like a “3D” character to me, if you know what I mean.
some brief Maxima notes before I get back to playing this ( and MKA -_- )
A,A,C,236A,236A,236A xx Maxima Revenger is a decent bnb
Bunker Buster is absolutely lethal against people who Hyperhop all day…instant falling crossup, basically ( BLAAAAOOW )
his beam super OTGs and for some reason at least in my experience will do massive damage sometimes ( i think it depends on how much damage scaling you influence by the length of the string you use to combo into it? )
fakeout Vapor Cannon is used to kara into Maxima Revenger, you can do it REALLY fast if you’re quick and the range is nuts, even better than Clark’s grapple range…smack at your opponent to bait a sabaki and then do this to make them go “WTF”
i’m not sure what the Maxima Lift combo is even though i’ve seen a million JP players do it at this point, i’ll try it out and prolly post it later unless someone beats me to it
That’s a tricky one. I hurt my wrist trying to get it down, but the opponent ends up just out of reach. I guess I need to cancel faster.
In the meantime I’ve been using these:
without meter: p,p,P, hcb+K, qcb+P (maybe you could bunker buster after hcb+K? I’ll have to try that)
with meter: b+P,b+P,hcb+K, lvl.3 super.
keep us posted on that juggle if you find it out.
Could you elaborate on this for me? I don’t doubt you, I’m just having trouble seeing how Ninon is better - she has a pretty good off the wall/aerial thing going with her level 3 super, but nothing to me that seems to make up for the lack of Mignon’s launcher DP+K…
And the fact that Mignon’s lv3 super sucks balls (unless I just haven’t found out how to use it right, which is entirely possible)
In any event, I think the Beart sisters are probably some of the more fun characters to experiment/start out with - their moves seemt “open up” the combo system in fairly blatant ways.
This game’s been fun. Lots of unlockables, etc. I only play games on the weekend, so there’s a bit more for me to do. The FAQ at GameFaqs is good for the Missions, but I’m still stuck on a few. Any tips for Hard Missions:
(First a tip for 10-10 (Geese) The combo that worked for me- HPx3,HKx2 (& LV3 DMs)) Tough! A lot of other ones were GGX2/SFEX3 tough/fun as well.
1-8 (Tips for timing the uppercut to connect & the DM after? The guy seems to fly off quick on the rare connected uppercut)
5-3 (33 hits- Do’h. Cancel the DM a split-second later? Is the LP or HP Z. better? Any other combo ideas at the start?)
5-4 (Anyone else have a hard time pulling off Freeze Execution at the end?)
5-9 (Can’t get the Super/DM/DOA Thrashing/insert name- here at the end)
There were a few SFEX3 and GGX2 Missions I never could clear (after years), but I’m hopeful on these.
Thanks.
I think the main thing is Ninon’s teleport game and her fireballs make her pretty good at zoning while Mignon has to throw a fireball, do command fireball explosion and doesnt have the versatility of a teleport to get in and verify a combo, plus Mignon’s wind tunnel is SEVERELY slowed down ( 214P ), there’s also the fact that Ninon has a SUPER version of it ( granted it’s hard to connect, but still, it’s really good for people hyperhopping in on you…then again so’s 623A )
Ninon seems more like a random Guilty Gear character with her teleports while Mignon is pretty straightforward, i think…notice also that her hyperhop CD seems a lot more useful than Mignons and covers a lot more area
teleports just seem to annoy people, it’s like, one knockdown equals OTG B,B,B xx 623A xx level 3 meteors, and teleporting just makes it easier…she’s actually one of my mains in this game, and annoyance is her goal, she has one of the best annoying mixups
for 1-8, the second after Kyo shoots offscreen you should be hitting the punch and holding it ( do the DP motion like a little ways before the high launch. ) then, hold it for about three seconds - you know you have to release punch RIGHT when you hear Kyo go UUUAAGH because that’s the indicator you’ll have about just so many frames after that to connect the move when he falls, but Kyo’s grunting is when you let go of the DP, after you get that then you have to get the timing down for super canceling the hit, it’s basically buffering; just buffer the motion so that you tap D right as you let go of punch.
for 5-3 i find that it’s better if you super cancel at the hit RIGHT before the last punch of the Zanretsuken, you’ll notice you’ve done it right when there’s massive slowdown
on 5-4 i actually used hyperhop C, s.A,A,A,C, 214D, Freeze Execution when you land, there may have been a wallhit after 214D, i cant remember
the trick to 5-9 is that the super actually has two hits to it, you may need to do it so that he hits them in the opening bit of the super animation and the final hit should be the flame pillar
hope that helps some
Good stuff. Thanks. I figured someone here had cleared 'em. I’ll try 'em on Fri…
Random question. For Mr Karate…is there an outfit for him w/o the mask?
Yeah, it’s his “Another” costumes. He looks like Ryo under the mask though, not Takuma
Thats probably because Mr.Karate this time is Ryo. Going on the storyline I imagine. Poor Takuma is getting filtered out.
When did Ryo become Mr. Karate storyline-wise?
