I heard a rumor that KoF Maximum Impact 2 [KoF 2k6 in the US] was going to be upgraded a bit and put on Xbox 360. Is there any truth to this?
What, MI:RA?
What? please be more elaborate o.o
ps2 import
?
All I know is that I heard that King of Fighters MI2 [2k6] Was going to be available for XBox 360 [possibly XBL Arcade?] with some additions. Added characters and all. All I wanna know is if there is any truth to this rumor. Has anyone else heard of it? Should I be excited or disregard a false rumor?
I’ve not heard anything, but I’m not a good source. It would probably be KoF MI: Reg A. Which was an Arcade version. It removed Armor Ralf (who was ridiculous) and added a few new characters. There were also balance tweaks.
Doing some research myself. Regulation A seems to be what I’m looking for, but I can’t find any information about it being on 360 or soon to be on 360 =[
Heh, I’ve never heard that rumor before, or heard anything about any of the games in the King of Fighters: Maximum Impact series getting a remastered edition (so to say)
There was supposed to be Maximum Impact 3 made for the PS3, though (I think).

I’m, trying to be optimistic about this, but I think it was probably cancelled.
But hey, maybe it’ll be announced at this years E3.
awe man =[ I hope if they make MI3 they put it on 360 too . . ><
MI3 is cancelled.
nooooooooooooo~
Could you give me a link to where they say it was canceled ,please? I believe you btw, I’m just interested in reading their reasons for the cancelation
Sorry buddy, but the KOF MI series ended with KOF MI: Maniax on X-Box.
If you wanna play the “right” KOF MI game, you gotta get a PS2 and get KOF MI:R (regulation) A.
It has the most unique Character roster in the series (the rumor of clones was for KOF MI2/2006. And MI:RA fixed that. Besides people play the likes of SSF4 and 3S where there is like 5 shotos and a NOT SO ORIGINAL BOSS CHARACTER. EDIT: Gill is original, SETH ISN"T). Perfect balance of 2d/3d play (SF:EX series is ASS, compared to this). And pretty much anyone can win in this game, so the tiers are pretty damn close together.
Add flash & very nice graphics, good music, and good speed…
and you’ve got yourself a good game.
KoF MI Maniax wasn’t the Last one, KoF MI:RA was. Time line is KoF MI, KoF MI Maniax, KoF MI 2 [aka KoF 2k6], KoF MI:RA.
Maniax was just the Xbox version of KoF MI
Oh lord…
I ddn’t say Maniax was the last MI in the series.
I said (meant to say) it was the last game on X-Box.
I gauruntee that if KOF MI3 was released it would’ve made a hell of a scene and would’ve been even better than MI2. So much potential wasted.
“Better than MI2” isn’t really saying much…
MI:RA is all that is needed. I consider MI:RA the MI3. The game is as good as it’s going to get on PS2/Arcade. It’s flawless compared to previous MI games and considering it’s not on next gen.
People should actually learn the game and not mistake it for the FAIL that is MI2.
i know that hating on maximum impact is somewhat popular and Falcoon is sometimes maligned but there were aspects i liked about the games. The new characters were mostly quite decent, the party modes and various modes and challenges were entertaining. The story was actually good in terms of innovating new stuff to the universe. I am happy that the games were made.
Maximum Impact Regulation A 2 and Maximum Impact 3 were cancelled and Falcoon was fired. Thank the retarded fans that blamed Falcoon for everything, even what they didn’t like in the 2D games (and he was fired despite the fact he was hired because the fans asked), ignoring the fact MIA had better gameplay than the last four 2D KOFs and that the outfits they hated so much were optional.
Here’s the logo from MIRA2, posted at Famitsu at TGS years back:
