KOF Maximum impact regulation a thread

my new team is pretty sweet

geese, chae lim, and richard mayer

i just need to learn how to play them

He loves Kyo. He knows this. And Richard is stupid. I’m gonna play him too.

Man…you need to stop hating on Ash. He’s too dope.

Yes. Ash is the shit. Especially since he’s so weak in KOF XI.

:crybaby:

yeah!!! another Richard player to the brotherhood

unparryable string that mai has?
i play esom all the time and i dont think she has anything unparriable that isnt more projectile than attack :stuck_out_tongue:

FYI(and esom mentioned that he told you all how i feel on this) as far as the “sabaki” button goes: i highly reccomend that you force manual parrying
it becomes a way better game because you cant just hold a d/b or b and mash the parry button…in fact there is an actual risk to attempting a parry because SNK changed the inputs on the parry so that you have to either hold forward or down on the stick when you hit the 2 other buttons
that AND some things become completely unparriable because it requires 1-2(minimum) more frames of animation to parry because you have to move the stick

Terry Mother F#cking Bogard

yes sir

ha?
i have been a big advocate of this game and to a lesser extent 2006
but both are solid games, if i bad mouthed any MI’s it would just be the first one which is only fun as a practice mode game
and i have BEEN on srk, i just had to start a new one because i forgot my info again and i wanted to chime in since there seems to be more serious players of this game now

im telling you all…its a whole new game when you get rid of the cheater buttons
just like in tekken when people took away the ss button(or even the double button setups) so they couldnt perform things that arent possible w/o the shoulder setup …plus it even allows human error and encourages that little bit extra technical skill and hesitation because of the risks
the only shoulder that should be allowed is the taunt imo

chaelim is sick

richard is slow

good point with the sabaki

oh ya ur right about mai’s string, sabakiable

the 2nd hit can’t be ducked my certain characters though

DUPED

also to be honest this is the only game i play where i use the shoulders but i only use sabaki and taunt, all other snk games i change all the shoulder buttons to off or the E-button

so anyway for A2 shit, if the arcade doesn’t have single button sabaki i don’t think we should use it either but who knows

98UM has a single button for C+D so who knows what they will do in A2

wtf

forward + B+C or cr. B+C is the sabaki command in the arcade, they don’t use E button on Taito Type X to sabaki but i really don’t see the harm in having an extra button to sabaki or blowback, not like there’s any huge benefit from extra button maps like that ( not that i know of anyway )

you can continue to block and mash sabaki (and it won’t come out in most cases if it is timed wrong) instead of letting go of block plus hitting the manual sabaki command

plus it takes away the human error aspect

and say with situations like the previously mentioned mai string it goes low to high
its fairly easy to do something like hold d/b then move to back and keep mashing the sabaki button…however its a million times harder to say hold d/b to block and then quickly move to forward +2+3(i use the tekken notations)
and there would be no situation at all where you wouldnt get hit trying to parry low then parry mid in that string because

  1. if you tried to parry low and mistimed it …the low would hit you because you have to move your hand off of the guard
  2. if you were spaced properly where the low wouldnt hit you…the rest of the string would OR
  3. you wouldnt have time to get the mid parry out and be forced to block/go through it

its possible to still parry the high hit on block but its way harder
and there are a million strings that this changes…especially jab strings

um no you arent
d+2+3 and f+2+3
im not sure but i think that is b+c? s.punch + l.kick?

wow

ya f+B+C or d+B+C

lol

thats why i bring it up, they changed it for a reason in my opinion

Why should it be banned? Are all of you gonna lose to people who use shoulder buttons? It creates that much of a skill gap? Don’t tell me you plan to justify that crap with “Well I use a stick/I can do it just fine” nonsense. As for human error, the error is still there. I speak from experience. In Guilty gear I use to map 3 buttons to a shoulder button to FRC and when I started doing it manually(non-mapping), guess what? I can do it much better than before. So people have trouble hitting multiple buttons at once. Don’t force the fact that some of you can do it onto everyone else.

And really, use of the shoulder buttons won’t make a damn difference in battle and you all know that. People won’t get Sabaki 100% of the time because the are using shoulder buttons.

considering me and dropgate are the only two players of this game in DC MD VA area i could really give a flying fuck at this point

Yeah… it means shit to me if you do ban it anyway. MIRA isn’t big enough yet for something like this nor does it show button mapping is an actual problem anyway.

It does have too much potential so do support it. If/when it becomes big then you can discuss shoulder buttons.
