Thing is its only my 3rd week of playing the game…when the footage was in Mexico that was like 3 days after playing it…plus I got to play Webster A LOT in casuals that I am about to put up so you all can see SOME of my progress from him beating me alot…
Then I just turned it up from what I learnt from Webster and Dan in the tournament…
I’ll be uploading Pre-MWC MIRA Casuals between me and Webster (A lot) today…Stay tuned…
There’s quite a few. The most that stood out were DG landing a 2 hit combo with Xiao lon in her :d::d: A style and not continuing that which can go into her rekkas for a nice little 6 hit combo. If he can play Duo Lon and do those LDM combos, I refuse to believe he can’t do that. Look at the Pre-MWC 3rd set he has against Webster. In that first round alone he shows he has knowledge of Xiao Lon and to an extent her combos. where was that in the actual tourney match? After seeing what DG has done in other SNK games I 100% believe he can pull off Xiao Lon’s BnBs even with 3 weeks experience.
Then there’s the WW footage. No power charge? Instead 3 hit combos that end in Burning Knuckle? WW can do a easy BnBs that’s better than that. Even if you are new to MIRA you should be able to pull those off. Within an hour at most.
I’m not saying you guys played the game wrong. I’m saying it’s seems like you all tend to withdraw yourself from pulling off simple BnBs. Honestly though Webster impressed me the most. He knew what lend to an OTG combo and he friggin used it. K’s throw to Chain Drive for a KO, that was nice. Sure he burnt a good amount of meter on stand alone DMs but that’s not the point. And Sukafoo’s Mai. That guy always landed his BnBs. If he was blocked he stopped. He landed the hit, he did the full BnB. That’s what I’m talking about. Capitalizing upon the situation to maximize your chances for success. If Webster and Sukafoo can do it, there’s no way I believe the rest of you couldn’t do it as well.
Keep in mind I’m not bashing how you guys played. Just pointing out that many times you guys could have done more and played it safe/keep your mix ups/saving meter etc.
Hatred so you want to know what combo I was doing with Xiao Lon in that vid against Webster?
I did probably two variations…the first being while starting in B Stance: St.A,St.C to qcf+D, qcf+b, qcf+D (bounce/launch), DP+A (because you can stance cancel w/Dp+A but NOT Dp+C I believe or I may have it backwards can’t test at the moment), down, down+A to enter A Stance, then Cr.Dx2, rdp+D to Level One Super.
Now about simple bnbs if you watch Dan play Xiao Lon vs. Webster he sticks to simple bnbs…and Jivatma has simple bnbs that are effective that start with his godlike cr.a, you just gotta know it…also Esom’s Mai has a simple yet effective combo that is wise to use.
Xiao Lon is the most technical person in the game so you can play her however you like…Thing is also that I’m still learning her, I’m learning when to be flashy and when to keep it simple…thats where the 3 weeks thing comes into play, I’m still learning A LOT about this game, the learning curve is high in MIRA!
Her learning curve is ridiculously high! :looney:
About landing those combos in the tournament match, that comes with experience plus they know you are trying so they are trying to sabaki that shit and most of the time they know she is gonna start it with a high or a low…
Also I can’t land some of those comboes close to a wall, and some levels are bigger than others…hence I gotta learn how to adjust my comboes with Xiao lon depending on the level…
I’ve learnt how to do that now after watching Dan do stuff on the wall and talking to him about it…
DG I remember you landing in a crap load of throws against Webster when you opted to do so with Xiao Lon and Jivatma. Can’t forget about that option. And just like how Xiao Lon can start with a high or a low so can anybody else. I’m not knocking on people using simple BnBs. I’m pointing out landing a hit that goes INTO that BnB and yet not doing it. Sukafoo is a prime example of landing that hit and following up.
I hear you on the wall problems. Anyone who plays MIRA must face that problem. I know MIRA has a high learning curve. Its terrifying sometimes I swear.
Webster has a weakness against throws…he’s excellent at sabaking…but he has a weakness of breaking throws so I used that against him at the time…
Sure even now when I know what to use I’ll still use throws a lot vs. him because of how much he knows and how his first tendency is to sabaki…
So throwing is the counter and I did that alot in the tournament though I obviously levelled up between the casuals and the tournament footage about 5x…
Oh I aint dropping Xiao Lon at all…shes my best character…Jivatma 2nd…and Mai is gonna join my team in replace of Billy…
So my team is gonna be quite stronger next tournament…
Something about your Jivatma DG, next time your throw someone on a stage that has a good amount of room facing an opponent that has to get in close, stay back. Jivatma has good pokes that even if they get sabakied at near max range they can’t do much about it. Zone them out.
I gotta thank Webster. He got me interested in mastering MIRA K’. And the rest of you got me interested in Jivatma.
Hmmmm interesting…thanks…I will keep that in mind. The purpose of the MIRA tournament was to garner interest, and for that token I believe it was successful.
Now with this there will certainly be more MIRA tournaments!
Yeah I was playing little yesterday. Jivatma has the pokes to keep them at bay from afar. He’s not as good as Fio at space control but he can get the job done. And his roach stance or whatever it’s called has some potential. Just gonna be challenging to get it down. I just wished he had a slower fireball to alternate between fast and slow because the difference in speed between the two isn’t much.
