Bro, I think we all have some issue with this ranking…

I dunno what the deal is

all I know is I never want to play MI2 again. The game is trash. I had to play it tonight because they didn’t have regulation a. I still didn’t lose but what the hell is up with the slow down and the rediculous character select menu. Oh and lots of stuff I do in A didn’t work. A is so much better it isn’t even funny.

Anyway on to the tier list, ya there’s a lot of whack shit. Maybe the japs play different. I watch every vid I can, I dunno. I get some things but they do a lot of weird shit. Maybe it has to do with safety, maybe it has to do with damage, simplicity, or the ability to punish unsafe moves. Or infinates. I don’t know.

Is it just me, or does Hong Kong have some killers in this game? I’m thinking of the most recent vids from chrisyuhc…there was one match where a Mai almost OCVed, then Nagase reverse OCVed!

I am digging this game, but my flip-top PS2 is dead so I can’t play it for the time being. =/ I should be at NEC and would love to get in on this, but I need a way to not suck by then!

Some stuff from MI2 carries over, but I haven’t touched MI2 since I got MIRA, so I don’t know exactly what combo wise. If you have MI2, that’s your best bet.

Alright, I’m still not done, but for now, I’ll break down Lien’s Stylish Moves a little bit. All combos were practiced against Kyo on the Temple Ruins stage. Sorrw for some of the random, unexplained info, I will address that at another time and make sure to include it in this post.

  1. lp,lp,lp,hp: All hits of this chain are cancelable. Can be comboed into a level 1 or two(don’t go for the level two). An ok string, sort of slow for starting with lp.

  2. lp,lp,lp,hk,hk: Same explination as #1. These do still serve Lien well for her awesome mixup game.

  3. lp,lp,lp,d+hk: All hits are cancellable and the sweep is untechable. The sweep must be guarded low. If you have no meter, you can follow up with a lp backup laser for help with your ground pressure or use qcf+hp to create a juggle opprotunity. If you do have meter, you can bring the opponent back up with qcf+hp. After you bring your opponent into the air, you have a few juggle options (Lien is balla at juggling). First option, you can do a simple jumping CD attack if you are low on meter to knock them away and plant a laser. Second option, you could juggle with a charge back, f+lp, and either supercancel into a level one, or juggle again with a level two (no need to super cancel this).

  4. f+lp,hk: Two overhead attacks. Both attacks are cancelable, and the f+lp is even empty cancelable. Use all of Lien’s empty cancel moves to bait your opponent into attacking and then use either a level two, or her qcf+hk move and mixup from there.

**5. f+lp,d+hk: An overhead into a sweep attack. A short and sweet high low mixup that can lead to good damage. This is also untechable and the f+lp is still empty cancelable I have this in bold because it is good and should be used at least three times a round… A few juggle options are to qcf+hp and then either j.CD,charge back,f+lp, level 2 or a sc level 1. (harde to time, but a tad stronger) **

  1. d+lp,d+hp,hp,f+hp: All attacks can be canceled. The f+hp is an overhead and if it connects, it can be linked into lp,d+lp,d+lk,level 1,level 2. The d+hp can be comboed into qcf+hp for a jugle combo. Pretty decent to use every once and a while.

  2. f+lk,lk,hk,hk: The f+lk can be empty canceled. This is a decent string to use at the start of a round due to the pact that you can empty cancel into a level2 or qcf+hp if you sense an attack coming. The second hk is an overhead. If this connects, go into a level one after the third hit. If you don’t have meter, use either charge back,f+lp or hcb,f+lp or hp to get a knockdown.

**8. d.lk,lk,hp,f+hp: d+lk,lk is another good round opener because it is fairly quick. The rest of the combo after the d+lk,lk isn’t really needed. If you land d+lk,lk, go into a level 1. Good damage for a round opener. **

  1. hp,hp,hk,hk: Another combo you should consider at the beginning of a round. The second hk is an overhead that knocksdown, but I suggest that you don’t use it since it is techable and leaves you in a sort of bad position, especially if blocked. However, hp,hp,hk,level 1 does solid damage and should be fished for every once in a while.

10. hp,hp,hk,d+hk: Untechable, follow with standard juggle options.

11. f+hp,hp,hp,hp: The f+hp is empty cancelable. The first three hits have autoguare. None of these hits combo away from a wall though.

  1. f+hp,hp,b+hp: A feint of the above string.

  2. b+hp,b+hp: The first b+hp is empty cancelable. Another round opener choice. The first hit combos is cancelable. The spit reaches around 1/2 screen and is best used from a distance.

  3. df+hp,f+hp,b+hp: The df+hp is empty cancelable

  4. df+hp,b+hp: Feint of #14

16. hk,hk,hk: ALL OF LIEN’S COMBOS THAT START WITH NEUTRAL HK ARE HER MOST DAMAGING PUNISHMENT COMBOS. LAND ONE OF THESE COMBOS AND SAY GOODBYE TO 1/2 OF YOUR OPPONENT’S LIFE BAR IF YOU HAVE STOCKS. The 4th kick in this combo is empty cancelable in case this gets blocked. Said combo is: hk,hk, slightly delayed qcf+hp, charge back,f+lp,wall bounce, charge back,f+lp sc into level 1. HALF DAMAGE FOR TWO STOCKS!!! A slightly weaker variation of this is: hk,hk, slightly delayed qcf+hp, charge back,f+lp sc into level one, wall bounce, delayed level one.

17. hk,hk,d+hk: This is by far my favorite comb of Lien’s because there are so many cool looking combos you can do if it connects. Again, the 4th kick is empty cancelable. If you don;t have meter, after the d+hk you can do: qcf+lk,lk followup,land,charge back,f+lp. This does about 1/3 damage without meter, so it’s definately worth it. If you do have two stocks of meter, after the d+hk you can do: qcf+lk,lk followup,land,charge back,f+lp sc into level one or juggle with a level two(no need to sc this). MAKE YOUR OPPONENT FEAR THESE COMBOS!!!

  1. f+hk,hp,f+hp,f+hp: Starts with an overhead which is also empty cancelable. Mix this up by empty canceling the overhead into qcf+lp since that has to be blocked low (I’ll dive more into this later. Just getting started ya’ll). It’s a good idea to break into a special or super after the second hit of this combo if you don’t empty cancel. The shit looks cool, but that’s about it.

  2. f+hk,hk,hk: Starts the same way as #18 also empty cancelable. A three hit string that allows you to combo a special/super afterwards.

  3. f+hk,d+hk: Another overhead to sweep, difference is THIS ONE IS TECHABLE. To ensure that your enemy doesn’t/can’t tech as soon as the hit the ground, cancel the sweep into a qcf+lp/hp, dp+lp/hp, or charge back,f+lp (yes this one can be done).

  4. j.lp,j.hp: Two jumping punches, the second knocksdown, but is techable. Both attacks count a overheads and both are air cancelable. if you ever land either hit of this combo, IMMEDIATELY do a qcf+lk into a level 1 (you get a free cancel off of this move). You can also short hop this chain and end it with qcf+lk all day as long as the don’t gaurd cancel becayse it’s really safe.
