Are there any good Duke BnBs.
Some match videos would be helpful aswell.
HOLY SHIT WHERE"S KAGE WHEN YOU NEED EM
yea that’s all he talks about so he should be able to help you
Duke needs fewer BnB combos than other characters.
You’re going to work with two main combos:
p-p-p-6P-k-K -> ender of your choice
k-k-k -> ender of your choice
I follow these guidelines:
If you have meter p-p-p ->L1 ground fire = @ 55 damage
The most important thing to remember is that Due’s neutral ‘p’ his crazy auto-guard. Maintain sweep distance away and if your oppontent flinches anywhere but low, just walk into the chain.
If you have no meter or are conserving, go with the first combo above. If it gets blocked, or if it lands a knockdown next to the wall, end the series with P+K - P. The last command performs and unblockable, putting the opponent back on the ground for stomp games (214+k).
k-k-k hits low on the last hit and can also be ended with P+K - P. Use the 3 light kick version if you are uncertain of your hit confirmation. If you know it is going to land, go with k-k-K-K for a bit of extra damage.
-Duke’s 236+P can autoguard through fireballs. Know your range.
-crouching p also autoguards.
-short jump back + k is really really safe.
-You can occasionally hit his L2 confusion super for a combo off a floor stomp near the wall (it’s hard though…)
-L3 super is devestating. Very very safe. If blocked, it crushes their guard meter entirely. Also works as anti air.
-214+k is really the only non-autoguard reversal you have.
-Punish, Punish, Punish. Duke can’t create too many openings himself, that’s his weakness. Just know you have way more life than your opponent. There are some really acceptable risks you can take. All you need is one ‘p’ a the right moment and you are in.
the other thing about duke I like (hate) is his double uppercut where the second part has autoguard and can be delayed, so if they block the first one you can kind of delay it and then go for the second one
Good tip…I didn’t know about that one…
Also, 214+K hits low. It’s kind of obvious I suppose, but you can catch people off guard on occasion with it. (Ok, maybe once, ever…)
you can really mix stuff up with ground stomp as well, for example hitting it during his strings where it would normally be a mid attack to keep them guessing, it’s good because you can’t sabaki it (it’s like a fireball) and you probably can’t sidestep it either (though mary can qcb+p it)
I’ve been leveling up my Lien something fierce over like the past 8 hours. She has crazy mixup and juggle combos.:badboy: I’m seriously thinking about making a guide after I get back from this tourney. Maybe I’ll bust in MIRA and bust some heads if time permits.
That’s interesting…
I’m going to give that tactic a try when we play later today. I’ll be interested to see if stomp is safe up close on block like that.
now the stomp you may be able to sabaki, not sure but the fire that it creates definately is not sabaki-able
Anyone use Hyena?
digimon does
oh and i’m not going to the UIC dealie, since i don’t play any of those games
 I’m gonna try and bust in MIRA and XI if no one else is goint to and if there is a free tv. Gotta try my snappin’ new Lien tricks. I also randomly picked Iori and made a few juggle combos with him too.
last time i was at uiuc i wanted to play tekken but no one was good, which is probably why dr isn’t at this weekend’s tournament
but nappy might play u in it, and sylvia as well
Man I got to play this the other day and this game freaking rocks hard. Definately lots of fun. Im especially impressed with how original and fun a lot of the female characters are, and how quickly you can find a character you really enjoy playing.
I messed around with Hanzo and B. Jenet, does anyone have any tips and tricks for these characters?
Does Regulation A. allow you to combo into command grabs? When I was playing I forgot that general KoF rule and forgot attempting to combo into Hanzo’s Super command grab.
Hanzo and Jenet are good characters for rushdown. I just woke up so you’re not going to get much out of me right now, but I should have something up later if someone else doesn’t beat me to it.
In MI2 and MIRA (I didn’t even bother to play MI cause of the stupidity in it), you can do combos into command crabs. The only you can’t is if they are crouching, command grabs and super grabs miss crouching opponent. Clark has his shining wizard against crouched opponents but that’s about it.
Cool, Ill be waiting for your write up on my characters later. Thx a lot for the info.
to answer the can you combo into command grabs question… yes you can
Who’s going to NEC?
