I apologize if this has been brought up before since I just bought KOF Maximum Impact yesterday. If there’s another thread on this and someone can provide a link I’ll close this thread no problem.
Has anyone else noticed that the KOF Maximum Impact intro song has some of the same rap lyrics as Guile’s song on the Street Fighter vs. Street Fighter Musicians Album? Did the same group make both songs? Since the SF vs. SF Musician Album featured Deejays sending in entries, did they just mix an existing song to Guile’s song on the album, and KOF MI did the same?
Anyway, if you have KOF MI and the SF vs. SF Musicians Album, listen to them back to back, this is really interesting I think.
It’s hard to figure out what they are saying. Guile’s song on the album is called “Guile against the machine” and the artist is Scottishfold Teenage Lot. It is the fifth track of the SF vs. SF Musicians soundtrack. And the voice used to rap here sounds just like the voice in KOF MI used to rap the same lyrics. To the best of my ability I’ll try to write down the rap lyrics.
Here come the suckers go
Suckers supposed to hate me oh
Suckers make the base feel low
Yeah rap attack beat
Rappin’ like like
Makes take it out
Party jack
So is the sidelines
The mike is scared now
Take the rewind
Make the sky low
Heat red like bricks
He kick within him
Make few kicks in him
Break like toothpicks
Yes!
Calm that!
I know it’s not the beat like
With the rebel power
Don’t squat with the fear
They’ll be no witness here
No B-ball destroyer
I’m going to check KOF Maximum Impact’s intro to copy the exact part that’s the same.
This part is the same in both, give or take my misunderstood lyrics. After hearing both songs back to back, the voice sounds almost the same but it is sung in a different speed than the SF vs. SF Musicians album. And of course both of the songs themselves are completely different music wise.
Thanks for that, but both of those links are for the same link for KOF Maximum Impact and not Guile’s song from the SF vs. SF Musicians Album as far as I can tell.
But after listening to Guile’s track, this is an interesting little fun fact. Part of it sounds like that Launch Base Stage from Sonic 3 (the 47 sec mark). Wonder how they got away with that?
This is also briefly heard on KOF Maximum Impact’s Trumpet Player Under Elevated…which I can also upload upon request. Quick question…I never played MI, but is this Iori’s Theme? The song sounds as if it has heavy influence from KOF 96’s Arashi No Saxophone 2. PS: That’s not a bad thing :karate:
Some of the lyrics from what judgement day posted is also in this DDR song. Its in the 3rd paragrap. Now im trying to think of which song the Guile and KOF opening is now.
is it me or did jetset radio steal voice clips from kof95 sound track? unless they both stole voice clips?
i intro kof95 has “lets start the melody” simlar to what i heard on JSR song.
and on guitar to omega rugal it starts out with a guy screaming out “understand the conspect of love” and JSR has a song where a guy says that like 10 times in a row…
 That’s right. If you can find it, that pic was from the first page of DW’s Transformers series: Vol.3 Num.1
But the scene in the movie was top notch too :karate:
Also listened to Elena’s Track. This little mini rap is everywhere.
Back to Guile’s track: Was that rap original and intended for Capcom production? If so, I don’t know how SNK got away with something like that. This is almost as crazy as that Fat Boys (or was it Run DMC) line that’s in CvS.
The lyrics that says something like sidelines… then using as guidelines. I cant make out the rest buts its in the DDR song Let them Move by NMR I think? I hate that song I had to ask someone what it was.
The SF vs. SF Musicians album that features Guile’s remix was a contest held by Capcom during SF’s 15th Anniversary. DJs sent in remixes of SF songs and the winners were featured on the album. You could remix any SF song but every song remixed on the album was from SF2… Wow, either the SF2 songs owned everything else or no one really cares about SF1, SF Zero(Alpha) or SF3. I’m pretty sure it’s 'cuz no one cares, especially DJs.
So I don’t know all of the legalities of it but I think the DJs still own the tracks they produced.
Edit: Never mind. I think I know what you’re talking about…the file I uploaded in topic to this thread was titled after a contest I held awhile back. My have to get back on that sooner after I get my new job.
