It could be the lighting, but his costume also looks dark and menacing like evil drunk Superman from Superman III. I don’t plan on seeing this, but if he gets drunk again I might have to.

Apparently they got rid of the trunks, although its hard to see becuse of the shadow and the pose Cavill is holding, they probably are giving him a red belt to break the whole blue jumpsuit look that getting rid of the trunks would cause.

it also makes more sense for the character, superman’s suit is based off of circus strongmen, he wouldnt have a cape he would drown in
